Worthy Addition..
The twenty seventh outing, no less, in the Libby Sarjeant series of mysteries finds Libby and Fran grappling with an odd case when an historic public house is burned down. Their decision to investigate is certainly a reluctant one but is made more complicated when an antique dealer disappears. Engaging and compelling with a cast of well drawn, likeable and eclectic characters, a plot laced with humour and a solid mystery at its heart. Another worthy addition to this long running series.

When you start a series at the 26th installment it could be great or it could quite confusing. This one was a winner I read in one sitting as I was engrossed in the story and the fast paced plot kept me turning pages.
It's one of those sleep-deprivation-due-to-late-night-read as it was one-more-chapter and I had to know who-did-it and why.
It's an entertaining and compelling novel, a solid mystery featuring a cast of likeable and fleshed out characters.
I supposed I missed some details of the character's life but it didn’t diminish my pleasure in reading.
I have plenty of stories to read and I will surely enjoy them.
Many thanks to Headline Accent and Rachel's Random Resources for this digital copy, all opinions are mine

Loved revisiting Libby Sarjeant and her friends in the latest in this great mystery series set in along a coastline steeped in history..

A woman, anxious about her husband, who went out on his boat and hasn't returned, asks Abby - who has a history of solving mysteries - to try and find him. Having stumbled over his body, Abby is quickly up to her eyebrows in antique smuggling, a suspected Anglo-Saxon burial site and dodgy business dealings. Libby, using her local knowledge and contacts - and with the reluctant help of her friend, Fran - sets about untangling an increasingly complex puzzle. Then another body is discovered and asking the right questions of the wrong person gets Libby herself into danger.

Another great mystery from Lesley Cookman,

I'm so excited to have discovered a new cosy mystery series. Beautiful characterisations and Libby Sarjeant is a fantastically readable and complex potajonist. and an intricate plot that kept me guessing. I was so impressed I immediately started at the beginning of the series to bring myself up to speed. a really enjoyable cosy hug of a read.

The epitome of a cozy mystery! I loved that the main characters were women in the flush of maturity, although a bit more self confidence wouldn't have gone amiss. I also felt the editing was a bit hit and miss at times, but it didn't spoil the overall pleasure in the book. I have found that there are some 25 books in the series, and I can get them as part of Kindle Unlimited, so I've gone back to the beginning to enjoy the whole series. Recommended for those who prefer less spice in their reading.
