⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for "Collared by the Vampire Prince" by Darcy Fayton

I enjoyed Collared by the Vampire Prince, but I have to admit that I liked Bedded by the Headmaster a bit more. The story was engaging, with intriguing characters and a dark, captivating atmosphere that kept me turning the pages. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series to see how the story unfolds. However, I recommend reading the trigger warnings beforehand, as some themes may be intense for some readers.

I found this book from scrolling on Booktok and was eager to start reading it. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing this book is, I was hooked instantly.
In this story the wolf royal family were killed and taken over by vampires and now are ruled by them and all young wolf shifters are required to go to their academy for training.
Kira is a wolf shifter who is forced to go to this school but she is trying to start a revolution to take back over and kill off the Vampires. Obviously she meets a sexy Vampire she starts to fall for and realizes things aren't quite what she thought.
I was captivated by Kira and Nathaniel I absolutely love these main characters but I also quickly grew to love the side characters as well. This book is such a compelling read and so immersive it draws you in quickly and didn't let go even at the very end of the book. I ran to go buy book two because I need to know what is going to happen next before I lose my mind. I highly recommend if you love Vampire's, Wolf shifters and heavy BDSM Smut. It's a definite page turner and a easy read.
The song i kept in my brain while reading this was
Bow song reyn hartley ... It just seemed fitting !

I loved this book. Kira and Nathaniel had a wonderful love hate relationship. The dynamic was exciting. Kira tried to hate the vampire as it was not natural to have any feelings for him as she is a wolf. And not just any wolf, but a royal wolf. And he was the prince. The restraint he had in not taking her virginity was wonderful to read. And how she learned to be a submissive when she tried so hard to remain the dominant. Even though she never knew she was the dominant in so many ways.
The secrets the two kept should have torn them apart, but instead it seems to maybe bring them closer.
Excited to read book 2 to see the conclusion to this epic story.

This one is apparently a dark story about a werewolf girl who is captured and forced to go to some weird academy where vampires train wolves to be obedient. As you can probably predict this book is heavy on sexual and BDSM topics which I expected but not in this capacity.

The story actually starts with an interesting atmosphere, sadly that is the one and only redeeming quality.

The characters do not act like they’re adults, instead they act like not very clever teenagers who hate but love but hate but love but hate but love eachother but they’ve only met one another for like two and a half weeks ago. The plot is barely existent, everything else is just erotica , which would be okay (even though I expected a spicy romantic fantasy story, not nearly 80% of book to be spice) if spicy scenes made any sense at all.

The book feels like it was written by a teenage girl on Wattpad. I’ve truly read some fanfics that are soooo much better than this. This was a torture to get through.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Very good and very gripping! I really loved it. The plot was amazing, though it left with a cliffhanger. The explicit scenes were amazing! Absolutely thrilling!

First of all, READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS and proceed with caution.
Collared by the Vampire Prince is a dark fantasy romance, but is mostly smut. The plot (what there is of it) seems to exist to give the character relationships a backdrop. Now, for this type of book, that isn’t such a bad thing, as there is less lore to wade through to get to the really steamy stuff. However, the plot doesn’t make a ton of sense, so if you require a realistic backdrop for our two MCs, Kira (wolf shifter) and Nathaniel (vampire) I would look elsewhere. If you are more in the mood for a steamy Dom-Sub-type of read where that is the main point of the book, then look no further. The book ends on a cliffhanger, so you might be very tempted to immediately pick up the next in the series!
The spiciness level is 5/5. I would recommend this novel for fans of A. N. Roquelaure’s The Sleeping Beauty series, Taken by Cerberus by Trina Rossi and Prince of Ice by Emma Holly.

Another steamy addition to this fantasy world. I’ve read a few of the other duets so I’ve come across the main characters of this book before. Their story did not disappoint. The spice in this book is 🔥

Although this is far from my usual genres, I was thoroughly impressed by the author's writing style. The plot line and characterisation were excellent, and although the book is quite spicy, it was delivered so tastefully that I could appreciate it all. I'm a sucker for a good vampire romance, and this book delivered. Very impressed!

While this was a interesting read to say the least (extremely spicy), I flew through it in less than 24 hours. I really liked how the author tells you as it is, what to expect in the book with content warnings as well. Therefore also read at own risk.

I really enjoyed aspects of this book, but overall had mixed feeling about it as a whole. For example, the relationship between the FMC and the MMC was really difficult for me to decide how I felt. Sometimes the MMC was sweet and kind and loving, and then he outright seemed like he hated the FMC, and vice versa. When he was being loving I really liked it, but for large portions of the book he really grated on me.

I also liked the storyline, but felt it was not weaved through well enough. It’s strongest at the beginning and then the end. The middle is honestly just a host of spicy scenes that I ended up skipping a lot of to try and get to more story.

I haven’t decided if I’ll continue with the series at this point. If I do continue, it will be because of the cliffhanger. All in all, not a bad read, but it definitely wasn’t my cup of tea.

Wasn't expecting this to just be crappy bdsm harry potter. It's my own fault for not reading the synopsis, I suppose. But I wasn't expecting the silly werewolf private sex school. They have to wear different color socks based on if they are virgins or not. WHAT IS THAT?! The writing wasn't good and the twist at the end was so out of left field that I was appalled by it. There was one single scene that was hot as all heck though so two stars just for that one scene.

Not in love with this book, I wanted to like it but it just fell a bit short. I think this series may just not be for me.

Collared By The Vampire Prince by Darcy Fayton. Kira & Nathaniel’s Duet, book 1. This is a dark, spicy, paranormal romance.

I am a fan of werewolves, vampires, and dark romance, but I just wasn’t impressed with this book. There was too much spice and not enough plot for me. If you like a lot of spice with a little less plot this could work for you.

I was provided with a review copy of the ebook and this is my honest opinion. I gave this book 2.5 stars. (If I am unable to leave partial stars, I will always round up.) I do not plan to continue on with the duet.

Thank you NetGalley and Darcy Fayton.

There's not a lot I can say. I was intrigued by Kira's "true self" & would assume more about that would come out in the second book of the duet. I liked this book more than the other duet with Susie and Arken the headmaster (was not interested in reading their second book). Kira's & Nathaniel's story felt less forced. Thanks for the opportunity - NetGalley and the publisher.

I was really excited to get into this book, but unfortunately, it was a bit of a let down for me.

It was advertised as a super spicy read, but it felt almost like entirely spice with some plot sprinkled in. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this, but it would’ve been nice to have this advertised so expectations could have been a little clearer going in.

I liked that there was a dual POV in this book, especially because Nathaniel’s POV added some details that Kira either didn’t know or was oblivious to. This really helped the reader fill in gaps and information. At the same time, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the dual POV because there was a lot of repetition at the start of the new POV of what just happened, but with a new narrator, and it wasn’t always a consistent story. Sometimes, what had happened would change between POVs.

Something else that bothered me about this book was the shift between first and third person. It was prominently third person with the narrator knowing all the thoughts of the characters, but sometimes it would switch into first with the narrator talking with “I” and “me.” This unnerved me and took me out of the story a bit.

I liked a lot of the side characters and would’ve liked to see more of them throughout the story. I did some research and found that there are other books for some of them, but it would’ve been nice to get to know them a bit more, especially when they were important to the plot.

I don’t regret reading this book, but I don’t think I’ll be recommending it anytime soon.

Thank you so much to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an ARC of this book.

Thank you to the Author and NetGalley for providing the book for an honest review.
The book started off with Kira already knew what was coming her way, but was thrown off course by Nathaniel’s cool demeanor. I feel like a lot of substance got lost in the midst of all the spicy scenes. Like more of the witch and just more character development for Kira overall. I feel like Kira lost sight of what her original mission was while being completely distracted by Nathaniel. Even the part with Susie, I feel like it glazed over her and went straight to the sexy scene. It was an enjoyable read though (please read the trigger warnings).

This book was a bit of a letdown. While the spice was well written, the plot was so lackluster. The school makes so little sense and Nathaniel's presence there makes even less sense. I wanted to like it so much, but it just didn't work for me. If it had been one book and not a duology, and had more explanation, it might've worked better.

In this gripping enemies-to-lovers romance, wolf shifter Kira is forced to attend Volmasque Academy, where vampires treat shifters as pets. Determined not to submit, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to Nathaniel, the vampire prince who claims her as his own, igniting a forbidden desire between them.

The academy setting and character development are fantastic, especially for Nathaniel and Kira. Their tumultuous relationship kept me hooked, and I couldn’t put the book down. If you love dark fantasy romance, this book is a must-read. Highly recommended!

Make sure to check your trigger warnings

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read in advance.

I really really enjoyed this dark, paranormal fantasy. KIra and Nat's worlds collide in this book filled with dark themes and lots of spice. I highly enjoyed it.
