I wanted to like this book - I mean, I did like this book. I went back and forth on this SOB. lol. Slow burns are my pet peeve - mostly because I'm a perv (lol - judge ya momma) No but seriously, the book started off good - I was feeling it. I was into the Dom/Sub - I was into taking control, and I was into the plot and how it was going.
Theennnnnn we get to the meat and potatoes. Let me say this - I thought the FMC was going to be strong - she's not weak, but what she is is DUMB. Like how are you going to walk into a situation with NO experience and think you're gonna take over? I mean, you don't go bowling after having your parents tell you ALL about bowling and just fucking start throwing strikes... BRUH no! That's how Kira is written. She has a plan, and in order for her to execute said plan, she has to get in with a group. You can't meet said group and say hey, I'm gonna join and then take over. BLAAAH
She has a shit ton of potential - she's strong-willed (which I love), and she definitely seems like she's tenacious, and she has the mentality of NOT failing. I can appreciate these traits.
Now, after the bullshit and the character building, we get to the plot. I thought I saw stuff coming... I didn't - the author threw me a couple of times, and I love it when a story makes my jaw drop. I didn't see some things coming, and the last 75 (ish) pages had me shooketh! Did I LOVE the story? Nah. Did I hate it? Nope. Will I get the next one? Absolutely.
Again - character flaws can severely kill a book for me so my rating may be lower than others because there are some tropes people don't mind. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to what this young naive girl is going through and get what she's trying to do. For me, most of the shit she did pissed me off and i'm like BRUH what in the actual fuck are you doinggggg??
Here.. Look at some of the notes I wrote:
"she fucked around and found out.... how you gonna be new somewhere - can't fight, and decide to make demands?? FOH..."
"BITCH - you can't even fight!! How TF are you gonna take charge???"
"Did she really think there was a vampire hunter AT a fucking vampire school? This chick is dumb AF"
"She's always so quick to say what she wants to do but is always fuckin scared... grrr"
Anywho - she clearly irritated me - I WILL say, there was some cute comedy written in here - and this was a "sexually open" school, sooooo the smut was smutting - The burn was slow with the MCs, but everyone else was getting their freak on so it wasn't lacking.
On to the next..... 😏😏

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Stars
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 Spice
Collared by the Vampire Prince by Darcy Fayton, was much more addictive then I first thought. I ended up staying up late wanting to keep reading this book and I was excited to start reading this book, which made it an automatic 5 stars for me. This book does have some very touchy and taboo trigger warnings though, so if you are planning on diving into this book please read those first.
This book follows Kira, a wolf shifter who was found at the age of 19 by Nathaniel who is a vampire prince. He has to take her to an academy where Wolf Shifters and vampires attend together. There the wolf shifters do have a part to play since the Vampires are the ones who make the rules, but overall there is drama to unfold. In the meantime Kira has to navigate how she is to deal with Nathaniel who is showing more of a hands-on interest to her, and also navigate being able to still be the same wolf she was before coming to the academy.
I can’t say it enough that I loved the dynamic between Nathaniel and Kira. Is it healthy, no, but I would call this one of my junk food type books. I felt like the plot and the spice was about equal in scale and I heavily enjoyed the relationship. Again I could not get enough of Kira trying to fight against Nathaniel. This gave vibes similar to Ruby Dixon so I think if you like Ruby Dixon books, then there is a good chance you will like this book.
So the one complaint I have is that this ended on a cliffhanger, and I need the next book. I haven’t been able to pick it up yet, but it is definitely on the top of my list of books to get next, as I want to know what happens. The cliffhanger was a little evil, but it was fine because it did really make me excited to read the next book immediately.

“I will never abandon you, pet. You will always belong to me.”
Kira has spent years in hiding among the humans but shifts to her wolf form as a plan to be reported to the vampire authorities.
As an act of revenge, she gets herself enrolled at the academy that is run by the Vampire king. Where not only do vampires attend but wolf shifters are trained to be pets to their masters.
“Last chance, pet. I will not ask you again. Will you be good for me?”
Nathaniel is used to always getting what and who he wants. When he meets the strong-willed Kira who won’t easily bow down to him. He has his eyes set on making her his.
“Watch out, Nathaniel. This wolf has fangs.”
Victoria is one of my favorite characters and Nathaniel’s best friend. As the story continues we learn that not only is Nathaniel powerful, but he is so much more.
“My dear pet…over the coming days, I will show you exactly how a vampire prince claims his wife. In the meantime, your body will make for good practice.”
From obsession, determination, revenge, and desire.
Can Kira get the wolf packs to gain control back from the vampires? Will Nathaniel continue to follow in his father’s footsteps?
I loved this book and devoured it in a couple of hours! That cliffhanger was brutal!

Unfortunately I couldn’t connect with this one. I couldn’t form a connection with the characters. Don’t get me wrong I love dark romance, spice and smut but this was a little too much for me.. something I never thought I’d say.

Unfortunately, this was a 2-star read for me. While I typically enjoy darker themes like this book presented, I just couldn’t connect with this storyline. The plot felt a bit too disjointed, and the characters didn’t draw me in the way I had hoped. I found myself struggling to stay invested, and while the premise had potential, it didn’t quite deliver for me.

This was such a wild ride
First off, I loved that we jumped straight into the story. No beating around the bush here. The school setting was interesting and I would definitely read the other characters duets to see more about that.
I can’t believe this whole book takes place over what? A week? Talk about fast paced (not a complaint)
I really liked both our FMC and MMC. I always love a badass FMC with a “tough guy, but really a big softie” MMC.
I literally screamed at the ending.
I will defintely read more from this author.

I got 1/3 of the way through before I had to DNF.. the pacing was very fast and it just wasn't a book that I wanted to read. The writing felt clunky, the characters weren't really fleshed out very well and I was struggling to see how the story would improve. I quickly realised that even though I was super excited to dive into this book from the premise, the execution wasn't the greatest. I also didn't enjoy the non-con trope in this book. I tried to push through but when you aren't enjoying a book there is no point in forcing it.

“Little did they know that she had no intention of falling into line. She was not there to be groomed and dominated by vampires.
She was there to start a rebellion.”
Dark, twisted and brilliantly addicting. The most twisted and wretched version of an enemies to lovers vampire-werewolf romance where collars and submission are involved and when the possession has to be total and complete!!! This book and these characters are definitely not for everyone but when you start reading … you really want more !! You can’t stop. That’s kinda how I felt it. It was the worst kind and the best kind of darkness that spreads through your soul like a paranormal sickness and when you get to the end … you want more. Did I enjoy it deeply? Kinda. I plead the fifth. The tension was thick. The banter was there. The fmc was trying to stand tall and survive it all. But then she melted in a puddle because when he is LIKE THAT … ain’t no denying that he can make you feel things. And Nathaniel … aside from the name which I love … he did knew how to work a girl even through a disrespectful way. Not going to lie after that last chapter … I wanna know more !!
“He wanted her to give in, to pull him close even as she wanted to push him away.”
“Sooner or later, she would come back out.
And then they would play.”

This is a dark enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance with BDSM scenes that left me shook
I would not have guessed this was the authors debut because it immediately pulled me in and kept me intrigued from the first page to the last!
The ending truly had me in a state of shock!!
I truly enjoyed how for once it didn’t feel like the book was a gateway to writing spicy scenes it truly felt as though the author loved the characters and we actually got plot!

This book includes:
- BDSM
- vampires and werewolves oh my!
- centuries-long race war
- royalty and betrayal
- magic school setting
This book will give you exactly what you expect of it. Sizzling.

The tale centers around Kira, a fierce wolf shifter, who arrives at the imposing Volmasque Academy—a castle where her kind is tragically reduced to mere playthings for their vampiric overlords. The setting is rich with atmospheric descriptions that bring eerie beauty to the narrative, setting the stage for an exploration of power, revenge, and unexpected romance.
From the very first page, Kira is a force to be reckoned with. Fueled by a burning desire for revenge against the vampire lords, her determination to unite the wolf packs signifies her strength and resilience. Fayton skillfully crafts Kira’s character, making her both relatable and inspiring as she navigates her captor’s world with a blend of cunning and defiance. Nathaniel, the arrogant vampire prince who collared her, is written as a complex antagonist—initially portrayed as the quintessential dark ruler, he gradually reveals a more vulnerable side that complicates the power dynamics of their relationship.
The enemies-to-lovers trope thrives in this novel, giving rise to sizzling chemistry between Kira and Nathaniel. Their confrontations crackle with tension, showcasing Fayton’s ability to blend romance with a biting sense of conflict. As Kira fights against her circumstances, Nathaniel’s attraction to her becomes a double-edged sword. He’s torn between his duty as a prince and the raw, forbidden desire that Kira ignites within him. This internal conflict not only humanizes Nathaniel but also adds layers to their connection, challenging the conventional boundaries of power and submission.
While some plot points may tread familiar ground in the paranormal romance genre, Fayton’s unique world-building and strong character development breathe new life into the narrative. The book’s pacing is brisk, ensuring that readers remain hooked from Kira’s initial arrival at the academy to the climactic confrontations that shape her fate.
I highly recommend this book! Especially to fans of dark romance and supernatural.

**Review of *Collared by the Vampire Prince* by Darcy Fayton**
If you're looking for a book that blends irresistible romance with a touch of danger and a whole lot of spice, then *Collared by the Vampire Prince* by Darcy Fayton is an absolute must-read!
From the very first page, Fayton draws you into a world where passion and peril intertwine seamlessly. The chemistry between the protagonist and the enigmatic vampire prince is electric, making every encounter sizzle with intensity. It's not just the steamy scenes that make this book stand out, but the depth of the characters and the intricate plot that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
The narrative is hot and spicy, delivering all the thrills and chills you could hope for. Fayton's writing is sharp and engaging, painting a vivid picture of a world where forbidden love and high stakes create a truly captivating story. I loved how the characters' dynamics evolved, adding layers of complexity and excitement to the romance.
Overall, *Collared by the Vampire Prince* is a tantalizing read that balances heat with heart, making it a standout in the genre. If you're a fan of paranormal romance with a spicy twist, this book is definitely worth adding to your collection!

The books is very good and original in its own way, which is a lot say given how many vampire books I've read.
Nathaniel is the kind of monster you'll beg to protect you, even if others don't understand why. He has the best qualities of a prince, and yet you can see the young man that is falling in love. And that is something I truly apreciate, specially since so many MMC spend entire books denying they're in love.
Kira, on the other hand, is a bit of a mess. She hates everything, only wants to paint the vampire world red and yet, somehow, falls in love with the very first person that shows here both the soft and hard sides of life, lies, love, sex...
I would have given this book five stars without a second thought had it included Kira's plan regarding the new revolution, students thougths about the whole "pet" training... I understand that, in the end, I'm reading an erotic story and, therefore, the plot is there in a more contextual way, but I WOULD KILL to see this made into a longer book, with the intrigue, the revolutionary speeches...
Even then, I truly enjoyed it, so even if it lacks a few things for me to give five stars, I do recommend it.

I really enjoyed the characters and the overall premise of Collared by the Vampire Prince. The relationship between the vampire prince and Kira is intense and full of the push-and-pull you'd expect in an enemies-to-lovers romance. The spicy scenes are definitely a highlight, written with skill and detail that really immerse you in the dynamic between the characters. The chemistry between them is palpable, and the tension keeps you hooked.
However, I found the world-building lacking. While the story is primarily focused on the characters and their interactions, I would have loved to see more of the world around them. There were moments where the scenes felt very conversation-heavy, and although the dialogue was engaging, it sometimes left me wanting a deeper sense of the environment they were in. More descriptive elements could have helped me feel the setting and the larger stakes of their world, especially in a fantasy where immersion is key.
Despite that, the book does deliver on its promise of a steamy, dark romance, and if you're looking for a story where the focus is on the characters' intense relationship, Collared by the Vampire Prince won't disappoint.

A dark romance with vampires and werewolfs! And I mean DARK! But don't be scarred ;)
It was an interesting story with a lot of spice and funny moments, but defently Trigger Warnings!
Oh and what a cliffhanger!!!

Kira, a wolf shifter, has one goal and its revenge for her people and her family. Determined to succeed, she intentionally gets captured by the vampires in order to infiltrate the Volmasque Academy in search of a wolf pact to help further her revenge. Volmasque Academy is known for teaching wolf shifters to be subservient to vampires in the bedroom and in life. Nathaniel, a vampire, ends up claiming Kira and sets off to tame her but Kira is headstrong. With their constant need to challenge each other their feelings get complicated.
“Collared by the Vampire Prince” by Darcy Fayton was so spicy. It was so spicy however that I didn’t actually care about the main story plot until the last 40 pages. It was really good though if you like super erotic books with enemies to lovers, dark romance, BDSM, Dom/Sub, degrading kinks, paranormal, and age gaps. I got the feeling during reading though that the story line will be more important in the second book then it was in the first book, which I felt was set up more for character development. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Let’s start off by saying HOLY SPICE 🌶️🌶️ The scenes in this book are not for the faint of heart! I love a good vampire/ werewolf romance. Nathaniel is closed off and cold while Kira is strong willed and determined. She has one goal in her life and that’s to join the highest ranking pack and do away with all vampires.
The tension between her and Nathaniel’s first meeting was already at an all time high and only escalated from there!
THE ENDING had me screaming! I did not see that coming at all!
I cannot wait to read the second book!

The story has a great plot, fast paced, there are no dull or uninteresting parts at all. The world building is descriptive without being full of filler details, and I absolutely appreciate that!!
That being said, it is VERY heavy on "analysis" play. VERY. So, if you aren't into that, maybe skip this one.

Collared by the Vampire Prince is book one in the Kira & Nathaniel's Duet by Darcy Fayton.
This paranormal romance is wonderfully dark, and spicy.
I enjoyed every single minute reading it.
And I can’t wait to get book two.

I was skeptical about this book going in. The title made me assume it would be very focused on the spicy romantic aspects of the story without much plot or character. Typically when that happens I lose interest quickly.
I wouldn’t say that this book defied those expectations. It was definitely very romance and smut heavy, however that is how the book is advertised. The problem comes in when the characterization and world building is low. Without any stake in the characters or what happens to them, it’s hard to care about their intimate relationship. I felt this book suffered from that greatly.
However, it would be remiss for me to say this book wasn’t entertaining. I completely devoured the entire thing in a few days. It is a good palate cleanser and a light read after a long day. While it wasn’t necessary peak literature, it was good fun.
