This book had such a cozy Christmasy atmosphere to it and felt so festive and loved how it portrayed books and their importance!
Definitely never seen such a unique concept for a book. The dog was definitely my favorite in this book! This story was very heartwarming and fun to read!

This was such a cute Christmas read full of books, love and descriptive moments. Florrie has a lovely bookshop in the small village, but there is someone not wanting it there anywhere. The local business man wants the building, but Florrie and Ed are not wanting to part with it.
The characters are really easy to read about, the pages flow together with a lovely storyline. It is very well written and a great book to read in the weeks coming up to Christmas.

This book drew me in on the first page. The author manages to paint scenes vividly and beautifully. It’s charming and full of Christmas coziness. There’s a little bit of drama and a slight bit of mystery thrown in to spice things up a bit. If you are looking for a wholesome, heartwarming, and festive Christmas story, I suggest Christmas at the Little Bookshop by the Sea. Despite being part of a series (#4), it reads well as a quaint standalone holiday book.

Christmas at the Little Bookshop by Eliza J. Scott is a delightful holiday tale filled with the enchantment of bookstores and Christmas. This charming and heartwarming story captivated me from start to finish. It was my first experience reading a novel by Eliza J. Scott, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was the fourth book in a series. While I found it enjoyable as a standalone, I couldn't help but feel a bit lost due to the numerous characters and their intricate backstories, particularly those of Florrie and Ed, the main characters. As someone who values character development throughout a series, I wished I had more insight into their histories. However, if you prefer a lighter approach to character development, this book is a perfect choice for a cozy, snowy day read. Despite my initial reservations, I still adored the story and the charming setting of the Happy Hartes Bookstore and the quaint town of Micklewick Bay.

I thought this would scratch that Jenny Colgan itch, but it’s even more saccharine than those books. Oftentimes with series like these you can jump
In anywhere, and while the author did a good job of trying to catch the reader up, there’s too much history to the story to jump in here. This was not for me but for someone who enjoys a more Donna Reed style book, this may be for you.

Christmas at the Little Bookshop by the Sea by Eliza J. Scott is a cosy holiday story but it's not just sweet and cheesy, a lot is going on there.
I love how this story revolves around the beauty of books with a Christmas spark.
The cutest thing in this book was the Happy Christmas Memory Project! Adorable! So sweet!

As Ed never had a good Christmas experience, Florrie has a great idea of how to create positive Christmas memories for him! Meanwhile, they running a bookshop and it's Christmas time and so much is happening!

It's a nice Christmas read for sure!

Where to start on this. It had great potential. Christmas, a bookshop, and romance? It should be a cozy read, right?

In my honest opinion, it felt disconnected and boring. The main characters, Florrie and Ed, have terrible communication, but it's played off as if it's normal. Instead of asking her boyfriend of 18 months to talk to her, she bottles it in and just accepts his silence on things. While one of them was a surprise for her, the rest should have been discussed as adults. It made her seem meek and childlike, instead of an adult.

The plot did not keep me interested. In fact, it took me a couple of weeks to finish this book, as it was so slow paced, and too long for what it is. The author could have trimmed out a lot of this, and made it more palatable.

The other problem I had with this book was the over use of words. "I reckon" and "anyroad" was entirely way over done. There are so many different expressions that could be used in place of those, yet it was the same thing every page. One page, I counted "I reckon" three different times!

Overall, it could be a cute Christmas story if it was reworked, and more thought put into it. The way it is now, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

This was such a cute and cozy story! This was my first Eliza J Scott novel and I didn't realize this was the 4th book in the series. Though I feel this was fine as a standalone there were a lot of characters and I am all about character development throughout series so I felt a little lost not knowing all the characters backstory. Especially Florrie and Ed being the main characters. If you aren't as detailed as or into character development as I am then this is an absolutely perfect cozy snowy day read. I still loved the story and the setting of the Happy Hartes Bookstore and the town of Micklewick Bay.

Florrie and Ed are such a cute couple and it was nice seeing the town and their friends/found family supporting their dreams. This was humorous, absolutely sweet and romantic, and so festive! I am for sure going back and starting the series from the beginning so I can fall in love with the series even more.

This is the first book of the series that I have read and now I have some catching up to do to get to know the wonderful characters and Micklewick Bay better. I really like that the book contained a small amount of drama which kept the story moving and left you guessing a bit. I highly recommend this feel-good book that caused me to shed a few happy tears. This is definitely a wonderful Christmas holiday read!

This book is four of the Micklewick Bay series. Florrie is so excited for the holidays, her Happy Hartes bookshop, looks so festive. The only downer is her partner Ed, is he hiding something from her? This is a sweet holiday read. Mickelwick seems like a great town to be in.

I really enjoy the series based in Micklewick Bay and the characters involved, as we learn more and more about Florrie's circle of girl friends and why they are who they are.

This is the second book based on Ed and Florrie's bookshop, not forgetting the gorgeous Gerty. As they now own the shop, we find out about their ups and downs, next steps for the shop and the adventures of their favourite authors, and now friends, Jenna and Jack.

I adore the idea of the Happy Christmas Memory Project that Florrie sets out on for Ed, and the joy and surprises that comes from it, despite the jeopardy of what is happening with his father and Dodgy Dick, and why Ed is rummaging around in the attic.

The ending and epilogue were beautiful, especially as it is just after Christmas. You want to raise a glass with Florrie and her friends.
