I loved loved loved We Three Kings. A festive story of three work friends with a romance bubbling between Maggie and Leo. Family, fun friendship, at times sad but a must read book. Can’t wait for my next Kristen Bailey book.
Maggie was looking forward to a cosy solo Christmas after her parents went off on a cruise for the holidays, but when her workmates find out about her plans, she is invited to three different Christmases instead!
It will come in handy to get to know then a bit better as, just before she logged out for the break, HR told her hat she will need to make one of her team redundant in the new year, and she has know idea who to choose. But will it make her decision easier or harder?
This was a warm, funny, entertaining read, perfect for those readers who, like me, aren't up for all the schmaltz in their Christmas reads!
I loved this book!! The author did such a good job! I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed it from the beginning with no parts that slowed me down. The use of humor was perfect! I can't wait for more from this author!! I highly recommend this book!
Thank you Net Galley ARC

I cant wait to read more!

Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this eARC
I think this book is being promoted wrongly: the cover says “Fake Dating”, but if that’s what you’ve bought it for, I think you’d be disappointed. We Three Kings is a book about friendship, about loving the friends around you, feelings growing for someone you took for granted.
It’s a beautifully written, festive treat full of warmth with genuinely likeable people who end up in funny situations that had me smiling the whole way through.
At times, I felt the dialogue was maybe written too old for the age of the characters, but I was able to look past it and ended up enjoying the journey. I’d rank this as one of my favourite Christmas books I’ve read over the past few years, and look forward to reading more books by this author in the future (Five Gold Rings is a definite).
This was such a fun book to read. I really loved this Christmas Rom Com. Definitely has all those hallmark channel or netflix holiday feels. I like the plot and characters. I was rooting for all of them.
4.5 stars rounded up! Maggie’s three nerdy IT colleagues (Leo, Frank, and Jasper) find out she will be spending Christmas alone, and all invite her to their various family Christmases. Along the way, she finds such a sweet family dynamic with them and also true love; the only catch is, she has to fire one of them by New Years due to budget cuts. I LOVED this book! It was SO cute, and I’m obsessed with all the guys and the found family dynamic with Maggie! It was so fun to read about their crazy Christmas adventures, and I absolutely loved the ending. I can’t wait to read more by this author!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read before pub day! ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. WE THREE KINGS is out now!
Oh this was just the perfect book to read near Christmas!
I think it covers everything I love about the holiday season, and perfectly illustrates that anything goes at Christmas.
Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc. 🫶🏻
A hilarious story that encapsulates the wild escapades that come alongside Christmas.
Maggie had prepared and planned for a cosy Christmas on her own but when she lets slip to her three male co-workers in the IT department that she will spend the festive season riding solo they concoct a plan to see that she will come home with each of them over the Christmas period.
With her bags packed and ready for some quality time with her team she is unexpectedly informed by HR that she must make one of her fellow workers redundant by New Year, so with the upsetting news she sets of on an adventure where she becomes a fake girlfriend at a wedding, a rescuer of baby foxes and an accomplice to kidnapping a donkey with a group of drunk Santa's all while falling in love and trying not to break her work family apart.
So initially when picking up this book I believed it was a why choose however it is not, it's actually the polar opposite with it being a closed door romance and only one main love interest, that being said I adored it and devoured the story within hours.
The dynamic the author has created between all the characters is so heart-warming, each one is unique and the storyline had me laughing throughout. each individual friendship and progression was different and you could tell how much they all truly cared for each other the whole way through.
This story made me laugh so many times, it was very light-hearted and the perfect comfy Christmas story. I also really enjoyed that throughout we saw several different family dynamics and cultural differences as well as different Christmas traditions and overall the love and madness of Christmas.
Easy five stars for me
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the copy of We Three Kings! This was a wholesome holiday read that showed the importance of workplace friendships that can turn into family, which made for a super cute holiday book!
We Three Kings follows Maggie who works in IT, as she’s thrown together with three of her coworkers for the holidays. It’s classic Kristen Bailey: winsome, quirky, poignant, and hilariously entertaining, with a nice dash of romance. A perfect read for the holiday season, or really anytime throughout the year you need a pick-me-up.
Thank you Kristen Bailey, Storm Publishing, and NetGalley for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.
We Three Kings is a cozy (or should I say cosy?) Christmas romance. Maggie has become close friends with her 3 supervisees at work - Frank, Jasper, and Leo. When they find out she plans to spend Christmas alone, they can't let it stand, so they invite her to join in their holiday celebrations. She finds herself accompanying Frank to his sister's wedding, seeing how the other half live at Jasper's family estate, and enjoying a small town Christmas with Leo (and a little more). However, right before Christmas break, HR informs her that she needs to choose someone on her team to make redundant, which she struggles with internally while on these Christmas adventures with them.
Overall, We Threw Kings was a cute easy read, but it wasn't super memorable. Also, as someone who has worked in HR, it was hard to get passed how inappropriate Maggie's relationship was with her subordinates! It might not bother other people, but it made me cringe. I also predicted the ending early on, although it was a satisfying one.
A Christmas book filled with quirky characters and situations that made me laugh! This is a story of Maggie, an IT supervisor, and the 3 men that work in the IT department. When they discover Maggie will be alone for Christmas they invite her to spend time with each of their families. Maggie is hiding a decision that HR is forcing her to make that will jeopardize the future of the department. How will she ever decide as she learns more about the men and their relationships deepen? Maggie and the others are quirky characters, but what I liked best about them is their kindness and caring for each other. They may be overlooked by the rest of the company but they matter to each other. The celebrations are so different and provided insight into each of the characters. This book made me smile and feel the magic of the season. I highly recommend this book
I wanted to love this so much, Textbook Romance was a 5 star read for me but I found this was slow going.
Maggie was a likeable character as was Leo, I found their relationship easier to follow and almost found myself skim reading to get to their trip to the Lake District.
I really felt for Frank having to deal with his family, Maggie really did bring a lightness and joy to the wedding, without giving any spoliers her dress choice made for an interesting first meeting with his family.
There were some amusing areas, Maggie’s actions after their Christmas party were hilarious.
Jasper and his family were a joy and definitely brought the joy of Christmas into the story.
Thank you NetGalley, Kristen Bailey and Storm Publishing for this ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.
Very cute and cozy happily ever after tale, with plenty of holiday cheer and very memorable characters.
I always love Kristen Bailey's holiday books, and this continued that. This is so fun, and I really enjoyed all of the very different Christmas celebrations. The characters in this were so very easy to feel for and get connected to. This is a great holiday read.
Rhis was ok, enjoyed for what it was. The plot was nice and easy to follow , i like the characters and how their story develops .
As the holiday season approaches, I’m caught between my love for spooky Halloween reads and the undeniable pull of festive Christmas stories. This year, I found the perfect escape with The Christmas Escape by Kristen Bailey, which completely charmed me in the way few holiday romances do. While Catherine Walsh’s Holiday Romance usually sets the bar, this book quickly became a new favorite. Bailey’s writing, paired with Harrie Dobby’s delightful narration, made the experience even more enjoyable, with Dobby’s flawless delivery of accents and characters bringing the story to life.
The story follows Maggie Field, the manager of an IT department in a large London corporation, who is facing the difficult task of choosing one of her team members to lay off before Christmas. Maggie’s close-knit team of quirky co-workers—Frank, Jasper, and Leo—are more like family to her, and she can't imagine saying goodbye to any of them. To help her navigate this tough decision, her friends invite her to spend the holidays with their families, leading to a series of amusing and heartwarming adventures. From awkward family moments to unexpected romantic sparks with Leo, Maggie’s Christmas is filled with laughter, emotional growth, and the realization that sometimes love is closer than you think. With plenty of holiday cheer, humor, and a low-drama conflict, this book is a feel-good read that’s perfect for getting into the festive spirit. If you love heartwarming romances that celebrate both friendship and love, this one is a must-read!
Book Review: WE THREE KINGS
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Author: Kristen Bailey
A big Thank You To @netgalley and @stormbooks_co for the gifted ARC of this book.
When I first wrote this review I had just pulled myself into the Holiday book reads and his adorable book did not disappoint!
FMC Maggie Field is an IT Manager in London at a rather large company. The IT department is located in the basement of this company. There is Maggie and her three coworkers, Frank, Jasper and Leo. The four of them have developed real friendships. HR informs days before the Holidays begin that the company is downsizing and job cuts are coming. She will need to pick one of the three to let go.
This is going to be hard for Maggie as she wonders how she can let one of her friends down. She is also spending time with each of them and families during the holidays. As Maggie spends tie with them she learns so much more about them personally and their families too. Her and Leo also start to become closer as they are both single. Maggie is besides herself on what to do. Will she be able to find a loop hole to keep her “family” together? Maybe she will find love with Leo along the way.
The zany twist and turns, adventures and laughs this book has if fun. There were times with Maggie and Leo’s budding relationship that was great and times I just yelled out loud at them. The romance was slow but so worth it.
This book was a crazy, fun and happy read. Perfect for a Holiday read!

This was certainly a rather festive book, that I really enjoyed. It sums up the feelings of the festive season, while also being really fun.
I do love a geek, so a team of three men plus Maggie in a basement IT department instantly caught my attention, and after a really early but makeshift Christmas party at a Mexican restaurant, her team decide there is no way Maggie is going to spend Christmas alone this year.
So they decide to share her between them, starting with her being a plus one at Frank's sister's wedding, then a trip to Jasper's country pile and finally Christmas day with Leo and his family. But what they don't know is Maggie has to make a decision that is going to have to break the work family up.
I'll admit I guessed very early on what Maggie's decision would be as it made the most sense, even before we get to know the men and their respective families. I there some lovely moments with each of them, and I loved all the contrasts between the characters at play.
And Maggie is trying to do her best to do right by each of them, be it last minute Christmas shopping at Westfield to help Frank with the women she is sure he is meant to be with, or a cunning fox rescue, not to mention an encounter with a Donkey,
It was a lovely story that definitely had me feeling a lost more Christmassy for having read it.
Thank you to Storm Publishing and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
