Maggie works as an IT manager alongside her three quirky team members in the basement of a massive corporation. They’ve built close friendships over the years, despite often being overlooked and underappreciated. Frank is socially awkward and riddled with anxiety, just beginning to break free from his controlling mother. Jasper, the grumpy and posh one, hides a heart of gold beneath layers of family drama and dysfunction. Then there’s Leo, the friendly northern guy who can actually communicate with others in the company without causing confusion or offense, always ready to help. Maggie treasures each of them.
One night, after a holiday gathering she arranged when IT was, as usual, excluded from the company’s lavish Christmas party, sparks ignite between her and one of her team members. During the event, Maggie reveals she’ll be spending Christmas alone, and her team rallies to make sure that doesn’t happen. She spends time with each of them over the holiday season, getting to know their lives beyond the office. But as her bond with these men deepens, Maggie can't fully enjoy the festive moments. She’s been given an unwelcome task by HR—to return after the holidays and break the team apart for good.
This book was a heartfelt, charming, and unexpectedly delightful read. I loved how the story was divided into sections that followed Maggie’s time with each team member, all leading up to her big decision. Maggie’s quirky, rambling moments and her unwavering support for her friends made her a wonderfully relatable and endearing character from the start.
The only minor issue I noticed were a couple of editing slips, where a sentence or two had an extra word that made them a bit awkward. Ignoring the stray word made it easy to follow, so it didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the book. Usually, I’m critical of loose ends or flawed character development, but these characters were so distinct, with such warmth and depth, that I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Even the unpleasant characters added a nice contrast, and the pacing felt spot on.
This was my first experience with this author’s work, and she had me laughing out loud more than once. I’ll definitely be checking out more of her books, and I highly recommend others do the same!
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the digital ARC copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Maggie and her three work colleagues are a tight and underappreciated little team in a big financial company. Hidden in the basement, they are the IT geeks only noticed when something needs fixed. Just before Christmas, Maggie is told that she must make one of them redundant. But this is also the Christmas that Maggie is getting to know them all as individuals. How can she possibly make a decision that won't jeopardise these new relationships?

I loved this fun Christmassy read from Kirsten Bailey. The characters were believable (mostly - some of the family members were a little too caricatured to seem real, but they were hilarious) and the plot simple but interesting.

🎄 Festive Season Romance
🎄Slow burn
🎄Closed Door
🎄Workplace/Office Romance
🎄He falls first

I'm not really into Christmas books or Adult closed door fiction but when Kristen Bailey is the author, I am here for it all.

Her previous Christmas novel, Five Gold Rings, was a 5 star read for me. So, when I got the chance to read and review We Three Kings, I jumped at it.

Maggie is the best boss ever. She supervises the IT team of a small firm and she loves each member. Frank, Jasper and Leo all have a special place in her heart and, even if the rest of the firm overlooks them, she never ever does.

That's why, when Maggie looks like she'll be spending Christmas alone, her team come up with a plan so she can spend the festive season with each of them.

There's hijinks involving foxes, donkeys and reindeer onesies. There's romantic tension between Maggie and Leo that requires exploration. And, there's a secret that Maggie is keeping from them all which has the potential to ruin their close friendship and break their circle apart.

The characters are so vibrant that they leapt off the page - even the introverts. I loved them all, especially Maggie, who was warm and funny.

I did feel like the slow burn was a bit too slow though - I kept thinking 'get on with it already, what's stopping you?'. I mean, they did get interrupted a lot but where there is a will there is a way! Steamy stuff happened but it was off the page - bah humbug.

All in all this was a cozy read - just the thing to get you in the spirit.

Thanks to Netgalley for an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This is my second Kristen Bailey book, and I really enjoyed it yet again. This book is super funny, getting several real, out loud, belly laughs out of me. This is rare! I really loved the characters and how distinct they were, how we get a peek into the slice of life for each of them, and we can see the true affection between the characters.

I found the romantic storyline to start too abruptly - it was like one moment, they were friends with maybe a little attraction, and second, they were naked on videochat? Completely came out of nowhere for me and I was hoping for more of a slow burn, or at least not an off-scene phone sex tryst.. a bit offputting for me.

With that behind her though, I loved the rest of the book and seeing these different relationships flourish.

Kristen Bailey has once again gifted her readers with a heartwarming Christmas tale, this time with the fabulous We Three Kings.
This book is a wonderful look at how co-workers can become friends, how friends can become family and even more. It's a romp of holiday celebrations featuring different cultures and socio-economic classes, infused with plenty of humour. The main characters are all relatable and likeable, making the decision Maggie must make more sympathetic, and her ultimate decision ideal.
I highly recommend anything this author writes, but her holiday work is simply superb and #WeThreeKings is perfect for the runup to the holidays. Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of this brilliant book! #romance #humour #friendship

Big thanks to NetGalley for the ARC to this ridiculously adorable romcom. It was like Christmas in September reading this! This book will keep you laughing and get you in the Christmas spirit!

In this adorable holiday-themed rom com, IT team lead Maggie spends her Christmas vacation with her three workmates Frank, Jasper, and Leo. Sweet, dorky Frank needs a fake date to his sister's wedding; posh Jasper always has room for guests at his family's manor house; and Leo happily invites Maggie to join his family holiday celebration up North. But unbeknownst to her colleagues, Maggie has been told to choose one of her team to make redundant - a decision she'll have to make from the midst of everyone else's family and romantic dramas, and maybe a bit of romantic drama of her own.

This was such a sweet, good-natured holiday romp. The characters were delightful, and I loved the way they looked out for each other and made the best of their sometimes-ridiculous job. The setup kept the story moving through a variety of characters and situations, and while there was a ton of family drama, none of it was the main character's family drama, so the story felt low-angst no matter how crazy things got. Maggie herself was such low-key, easy company that I was happy to follow along on a week of her adventures, even without particularly compelling stakes - and I was definitely rooting for the sweet romantic plotline.

Lots of heart, very little heat, and plenty of holiday cheer (but no religion). 5 stars!

Another 3.5/5 holiday romance!

If I could describe this in one word, it would be heartwarming. Honestly much more sweet than I was expecting, in a good way! This is my first book by this author and I thought her writing style was easy and entertaining the whole way though. The dynamics between all the characters were super fun and it's just overall a great read!

Imagine the IT Crowd written as a Rom Com with some festive cheer mixed about! This book was so much fun. Laugh out loud... Check! Nerds to swoon over... Check! Hilarious dilemmas... Check! And happily ever after... Well of course, check! I loved the character depth in this book and just enough tension to have me needing to read that next chapter. Do yourself a favor and pick this as your next read.

I loved this story so much, it was so heart warming and I adored the relationship Maggie had with her three “boys”. As the boss she had already looked after them but to see their relationships get more real as they spent time with each other out of work was lovely. The premise of the story was clever, in them each taking their turn to “Maggie-sit” over Christmas and I was longing for Leo and her to make it work.
Thoroughly enjoyable, beautifully authentic characters and a nice dose of festive. Thank you!

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the chance to read this one in exchange for my honest review.
This was my first read by Kristen Bailey and I was delighted to see she has SO many others for me to gobble up now.
This was cute and zany with some holiday heart.
Maggie Field is looking forward to spending the holiday season solo. She works in IT and manages three goofy, lovable specialists.
In one of MANY zany twists, a predicament has her spending the holidays not alone, but with each member of team, one who she cannot deny she has chemistry with.
Family dynamics, one fake dating scenario and even saving baby foxes come with this adventure.

While I was little early on this Christmas story, it would be a perfect read over the holidays, so when it hit shelves on October 14th of this year, grab it and have it ready for your winter holiday season.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC.

Maggie is the head of IT for a financial company. She's been working with likeable Frank, Jasper and Leo for four years and calls them her work family. Then suddenly, shortly before Christmas, management tells her to make one of them redundant because the company has to downsize. Trouble is she has just been invited by all three of them to events over the Christmas period, and anyway, she doesn't want to split up the fam.

So she goes to a wedding with Asian Frank as his fake girlfriend to give the aunties something to talk about, accompanies posh Jasper to his family's manor house ("Their house has wings. Do you know what I own that has wings? Sanitary towels.") and finally celebrates Christmas with sexy Leo and his warm, northern family. But how can she start something with Leo if she might have to fire him?

I had a slight problem with the writing style. The FMC's habit of talking to other people in her head instead of talking to them directly took me a while to get used to.

But altogether this is a heartwarming, funny and romantic book that celebrates geeky friendships and charming bromances. It was lovely to accompany three very different guys home and experience their families and traditions. It's not every day you get mistaken for a bridesmaid, rescue baby foxes and nearly kidnap a donkey as a Christmas tradition! The whole story was adorable and feel-good, with just the right amount of festiveness. Recommended.

"Why was the computer cold? It left its windows open."

4.25 stars

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this book. This is my first Kristen Bailey book and was not sure what to expect. I loved this book. I read it in one sitting. This book is a beautiful story about the friendship between Maggie and the three co-workers she supervisors, Leo, Jasper and Frank. The author makes you care about all four main characters equally. This story is set a Christmas time and is set in England. Even though this book is set a Christmas time it is a great read for anytime of the year. This book is charming, witty and heartwarming. I highly recommend you read this book.

We Three Kings is as usual a great read from this author. With wonderful characters, sparkling dialogue and brilliant humour it is a heartwarming Christmas story.
Maggie an IT supervisor with a team of three others is tasked by her boss to choose one of them to be made redundant. Having a close friendship with all three she is devastated and no idea how to handle this dilemma knowing she will lose her own job if she doesn’t comply.
A Christmas adventure ensues which is as bonkers and funny as it is heartwarming. The close friendship of the team shines through making this a beautiful feel good read.
My thanks to netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

I read this in one sitting. A cute cozy Christmas read. A love story in not just the traditional sense but also about the love and bonds you have with your coworkers. Her relationship with Frank and Jasoer was heartwarming. I loved getting a peak at their lives. And then there was sweet sexy Leo. You pretty much know how this story will play out from the beginning but it’s worth the ride.

A cozy feel good story.

This was a super cute, cozy feel good book. I liked it from the start. At one point, I got completly lost in the story. I felt sad when there were not people running, chaos, cute boy, baby foxes or snow outside my window.
Each character was super unique, and vey likeable. I loved the side characters, too! They completed the atmosphere of the story perfectly. Maybe I wish there was a tiny bit more drama when it came to love story part. But it's just me.
This book felt like a long walk during christmas session in London. Diverse, cozy, unique, cute, funny. A feel good one. It's also well written, too. I wish I had hot chocolate instead of iced latte when I read this, haha. Maybe next time.

Thank you so much to Net Gallery shelf for eARC.

4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 stars. This is a warm, feel-good story about friends and friendship, as it follows the interactions between 4 workmates in London. Set mostly around Christmastime, this is a funny, well-meaning and good-natured story. I've read several other novels from the author and loved them -- this doesn't disappoint.

I received a complimentary copy of the novel from the publisher and NetGalley, and my review is being left freely.

I have never read anything by Kristen Bailey before but I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved this book and felt it was brilliant from start to finish.
The characters were excellent and had great descriptions but I think Jasper was my favourite and I would love a sequel to hear more of his story.
The book had plenty of romance and also showed the power of family and friendship while other parts had me laughing out loud.
This was an enjoyable Christmas read which I would 100 percent recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley, Kristen Bailey and Storm Publishing for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This book was refreshing and fun to read. All the characters are easy to love and so well balanced.

Maggie, Frank, Jasper and Leo are workmates and care deeply for each other. They work in IT which tends to be the most incomprehensible and underrated department in a company even though without them there is nothing done. They’ve had been working for four years and have created their own family unit. Now is Christmas and Maggie is all alone, so they decided to organize their vacation holiday in order to make Maggie spend family time with them.
Their experiences are something you may want to read about and wish you could do it too. Their love and support for each other is endearing.
Romance is also in the air and expect slow burn sexy scenes.

After reading two books by Kristen Bailey I realized that her characters are refreshing, easy to relate to and the story is described in a way that is also easy to picture it as if you were there. Definitely will be following her to read more stories.

I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for this ARC. This is my honest and voluntary review.
