Erin is about to marry the love of her life Simon but when she reaches the top of the top aisle its best man/best friend Gil waiting for her. It’s a sliding doors kinda moment and the rest of the book goes between 5 years ago and the present. It’s a contemporary romance, journey of self discovery but I did find slow paced and I never really clicked with any of the characters. It was enjoyable but not for me.

I am not generally a romance/contemporary romance fan when it comes to books as I end up bored but Always and Only You had an interesting synopsis and I though, well, now I need to see how did she ended up going down the aisle and when her groom turns around it’s his best mate - who she does not like at all. So here we are and let me tell you, I really enjoyed this book and I thought it was very different from any romance/contemporary romance I’ve read before! There is two plots happening at the same time - present day and 5 years ago - and although it was a little confusing in the beginning as soon as you get used to it, it starts making so much more sense and enriches the book.

I don’t want to give away too much information to not spoil it but I really enjoyed seeing Erin character grow and become more herself during the book and all the character relationships were very very interesting to follow. There’s also this particular theme in the book that I have never seen displayed in a book I’ve ever read before and I though it was really well done!

She was with Simon in the past and wanted to marry him in the future, but ended up married to her nemesis Gil. It was a bit confusing going between timelines. Not with the writing, just the storyline, so stick with it. It does eventually reveal why later, and it all becomes clear.

It's a little quirky read, based on memory loss. But stranger things have happened on the road to finding love. I quite enjoyed this sweet enemies to lovers read. Now I know the full picture I want to read it again.

I’m afraid this book is unreadable. It constantly switches between dates anywhere in the past 5 years, and even then those aren’t in chronological order when they switch. It feels as though the author printed all the pages off and stuck them in front of a fan, and when they blew away, they were gathered back together in any order and stuck straight into the book like that. It was very hard to feel anything for the characters as you can’t see their development due to the constant jumping around, which is a shame as each individual section was well written, and it would have probably made a good book if ordered better

Okay so this book was not at all what I expected. At first, the style of writing had me convinced that despite what I read on the synopsis, this was going to be a thriller but it definitely was not. The timeline of the book scales over 5 years and the chapters jump between present day and 5 years ago.

Erin is set to marry Simon, the love of her life. However when she reaches the end of the Isle it’s not Simon who is waiting for her. Erin doesn’t understand what’s going on because surely this must be a trick. This sets the scene to discover the journey Erin and Simon have been on over the last 5 years and Erin soon starts to discover that the man she loves may not be who she thinks he is.

I liked Erin’s character and wanted something good for her! I didn’t expect the book to turn out how it did, I was expecting a big shocker moment but it didn’t really come as I predicted part of what I thought would happen.

What a lovely story that will make you believe in magical dreams again. This story is a scary one as we could all fall over, hit our head and get a form of amnesia, and that’s a scary story, but the author has done this so well, you care so deeply for Erin, as she struggles through her thoughts and her new reality. There is something about this story that will suck you in, you feel for Simon, as the story unfolds, but do you know its Gil who surprised me most, he has something special going on. But it was the place descriptions that got to me, they blew me away and swept me up so I could feel the fresh sea air on my skin. Get swept up in the story and find out if dreams do come true.

I was thoroughly disappointed with this book, I have loved all her previous books but this wasn't for me.

I didn't like all the swapping about with the different timelines and just couldn't get into the storyline.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this ARC.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC of Always and Only You. I loved it! I really enjoyed the self-finding journey of the FMC. There are some really funny parts early on, but lots of emotions throughout. Very little smut but lots of feels. Even though I could guess the outcome of the story, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
My only criticism is the way the text message exchange is written: no quotation marks or a different font to signal where the message started/ended within the sentence. It made it harder to read. (I will leave a copy of this review on Amazon once the book is published.)

A fab slow burner. I didn't get confused with the going back and forth in time. I did find some of the passages with text messages to be boring. Other than that though I really enjoyed this book. It held my attention throughout. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a simple, fun, easy and quick read. The perfect type of book for your holiday, beach, pool kind of read. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

I found this book to be very confusing at the start as the timeline switches very quickly and it's not always clear that it has changed. I suppose this confusion reflects the confusion being felt by the main character, Erin. At times I felt that I wouldn't continue the book but I persevered and I'm glad I did. The story ended better than it began and it did turn out to be quite a good love story.

This was a slow burner for me, but I’m so glad I stuck with it because I really enjoyed the whole story. E’s story was lovely and I’m so glad she found her always.

I didn't get very far into this book before I was confuuuuuuused AF.

It starts in the present day then immediately switches to 36 hours earlier. Then five years ago. Then present day. Then five years ago. And so on and so forth.

There's animosity between Erin and Gil, but it's boring, it's not the good kind of feud. And then she's marrying the best man and no one says anything. I'll admit, I have up at this point. I just couldn't keep track of what was happening or what was supposed to be happening and I didn't feel that it was written well enough for me to actually care.

Anyway, I'm assuming that Gil and Erin end up together and there's some great dramatic story about how he's always loved her but I just couldn't put myself through it.

I was intrigued by the blurb for this and also unsure how Lucas would write the book so it made sense. Initially, I was frustrated by not knowing how the events had occurred but I persevered and I was rewarded with a tight plot that explains everything. The characters are wonderful as well, I really took to them and enjoyed getting to know them, learning about their relationships and seeing the development as the plot progresses.
There are a lot of feelings throughout this read and Lucas portrays them exquisitely and I just thoroughly enjoyed my time reading this.
Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for an advance copy.
