I absolutely loved Erin and was captivated by her storyline.
Such an emotional story not solely about finding love but about finding yourself too.
Thoroughly enjoyed it every page of it.

I think the premise of the book is really interesting and would love to read more like this trop but the time jumps where a bit much like we are going from months, days, hours etc. I don't mind when you switch between a few years ago and lead to todays circumstances and go back and forth between the present and past but the time jumping just made me so confused that I had to give up.

This book surprised me with its emotional impact. It took me on an unpredictable and unique journey that led to me desperately turning the pages to find out more, The reader follows Erin’s journey that jumps between the past and present day. Some of these jumps leave the reader asking questions or feelings of being confused which adds to the connection with Erin as she navigates life following a traumatic brain injury, I loved the descriptions of England contrasting with the exotic St Lucia. The connections between the main characters are well written. I’d defiantly recommend it.

Always and Only You, the latest novel from Fiona Lucas, is a gorgeous contemporary romance that will have you feeling ALL of the different feels.

Always and Only You centres around our FMC Erin who is about to marry the love of her life Simon. Though the wedding planning has been stressful she’s excited to find herself only one day out from the big day. Yet when she wakes up and finally walks down the aisle it’s Simon’s best friend Gil, who Erin hates, waiting to marry her. Is the universe playing a cruel trick on Erin, or could it be that her perfect life isn’t quite what she imagined…?

There is honestly so much I could say about this one but I so desperately don’t want to give anything away. There are so many surprising twists and turns that make you stop and reassess what you’ve just read - in the absolute best way possible. It really is a stunning novel that deals with so many complex emotions but with such care and consideration.

I will say I found the start of the novel difficult to read in the aftermath of Erin’s wedding. Not because it isn’t a brilliant story, but because I felt so much for the characters that it was so hard to read about the situation they were in considering how they felt about one another - it’ll make sense when you read it and read it you should. This really is a special book that I couldn’t recommend more.

Though this is a romance it’s an unconventional one. It’s also a beautiful story of finding yourself, and allowing yourself to grow into yourself, looking forward to what could be, rather than who you once were. It’s beautiful in that respect.

Another fantastic read from Lucas, this is the ultimate enemies-to-lovers story and I couldn’t get enough of it. I loved how the writer creates a sense of magic as Erin enters a type of parallel universe and, whilst this is certainly a non-linear narrative, I couldn’t help but be absorbed by Erin’s story.

When we first meet Erin, she is on the cusp of getting married and clearly has organisation and planning down to the nth degree. Or, as some might say, she is quite a controlling bride, religiously following the mantra of getting a job done properly by doing it herself. Yet, the fly in her ointment is her fiancé’s best man, whom she is constantly at loggerheads with. If only he wasn’t involved in the wedding party, everything would be so much better.

The story also moves to five years previous where readers witness the start of Erin’s relationship with her soon-to-be fiancé, Simon. It is an unusual courtship as Erin’s job takes her around the world as a yacht stewardess; we see the text messages exchanged between the two, as well as revelations about a tragedy that involved Erin, Simon and the hateful best man, Gil.

Over time, it becomes obvious that Erin’s feelings are not clear cut. I could not help but share Erin’s panic when things do not go to plan and loved how ambiguous it was, with Lucas providing few answers about Erin’s strange experience. One thing is for certain, however, readers can see that Erin’s feelings are not as straightforward as she feels, leading to a relationship that involves three, not two people.

This is a very cosy love story that shows the protagonist really getting to know herself. It was interesting to observe how Erin changes over the story and I loved her interactions with both Simon and Gil, particularly during the flashback chapters. The fact that they are joined by a tragic historical past means that I don’t think they can ever escape one another – which is then proven in the present day narrative.

I really grew to care for Erin as the story progressed and I think this is based on her experiences. From sharing her panic and confusion to the desperation to return to “normal”, I think this added to the gripping nature of the story. I was invested in Erin’s happiness and was desperate to see her have a deserved happy ever after, rather than being a victim of deception. The plot development was very satisfying, especially because I love these enemy-to-lovers stories and I think the added magical element made the story even more immersive.

With thanks to HQ and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much to Netgalley & HQ for this arc!

A unique, heartfelt romance that broke my heart and then managed to put it all back together again! I really enjoyed this book. There were lots of twists and turns and a unique surprise which I was not expecting! It was a little hard to read in some places but I think that was more to do with the format of the arc than the book itself.

It did take a little while to get into and I found the beginning a bit slow but it really picked up and I couldn’t stop thinking about it! I became really invested, not wanting to put it down and just needed to know what happened next. It was a realistic, complex, emotional romance read that captivated me and kept me guessing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good romance that will give you all the emotions & feels

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

The story did start of a bit confusing, but as you continue reading, it starts to make sense.

We first meet Erin who looks like she’s getting married, but standing at the alter isn’t who she’s expecting to see.

There is a lot twists and turns, then something happens and it’s then made known that she was in a coma and has awaken after a long time.

It was lovely to see Erin find out about herself again and parts were emotional.

I recommend this book.

I need to thank author @fionalucasauthor @hqstories and @netgalley for the opportunity to read an arc of this amazing book. This is my first book my Fiona Lucas but it most definitely won't be my last.

To be honest, to start with I wasn't impressed and didn't think I would finish it. This has nothing to do with the story or the writing, it's just that the chapters jump back and forward in time and with my brain fog it can mean I struggle to remember what happened when and keep pace. I thank my lucky stars I persevered though, as by half way through I was totally hooked.

The story has 2 main characters Erin and Simon. The chapters jump between the present day, including their wedding day and 5 years before, when they first met. As I said, to start with I found this a little confusing but as you work your way through the chapters, everything links together and starts to make sense and by the end you understand why it's written the way it is.

I try to avoid spoilers in my reviews but 1 thing I will say, it doesn't have the ending I was expecting at all.

This book is definitely in my top 10 reads of 2024.

I’m afraid this one wasn’t for me as I found the jumps kind of confusing and hard to follow. I did not finish.

The initial time jumps with this story does get confusing but definitely push forward because it all will come together near the middle. This story had me emotional, we first go into this story with a strange predicament where our main character Erin appears to be on her wedding day but the man at the end of the isle isn’t who’s she’s expecting. We have a large amount of twists and turns and an accident is then revealed later on as Erin wakes from a coma. I have enjoyed reading this story and watching Erin rediscover herself and recover after the accident. The story is told with great emotion and you can truly feel the love between characters. I am extremely happy with the ending of the story and what occurs with Erin.

Erin is about to marry the love of her life Simon but when she reaches the top of the top aisle its best man/best friend Gil waiting for her. It’s a sliding doors kinda moment and the rest of the book goes between 5 years ago and the present. It’s a contemporary romance, journey of self discovery but I did find slow paced and I never really clicked with any of the characters. It was enjoyable but not for me.

Rating: 4.75/5

I am not generally a romance/contemporary romance fan when it comes to books as I end up bored but Always and Only You had an interesting synopsis and I though, well, now I need to see how did she ended up going down the aisle and when her groom turns around it’s his best mate - who she does not like at all. So here we are and let me tell you, I really enjoyed this book and I thought it was very different from any romance/contemporary romance I’ve read before! There is two plots happening at the same time - present day and 5 years ago - and although it was a little confusing in the beginning as soon as you get used to it, it starts making so much more sense and enriches the book.

I don’t want to give away too much information to not spoil it but I really enjoyed seeing Erin character grow and become more herself during the book and all the character relationships were very very interesting to follow. There’s also this particular theme in the book that I have never seen displayed in a book I’ve ever read before and I though it was really well done!

She was with Simon in the past and wanted to marry him in the future, but ended up married to her nemesis Gil. It was a bit confusing going between timelines. Not with the writing, just the storyline, so stick with it. It does eventually reveal why later, and it all becomes clear.

It's a little quirky read, based on memory loss. But stranger things have happened on the road to finding love. I quite enjoyed this sweet enemies to lovers read. Now I know the full picture I want to read it again.

I’m afraid this book is unreadable. It constantly switches between dates anywhere in the past 5 years, and even then those aren’t in chronological order when they switch. It feels as though the author printed all the pages off and stuck them in front of a fan, and when they blew away, they were gathered back together in any order and stuck straight into the book like that. It was very hard to feel anything for the characters as you can’t see their development due to the constant jumping around, which is a shame as each individual section was well written, and it would have probably made a good book if ordered better

Okay so this book was not at all what I expected. At first, the style of writing had me convinced that despite what I read on the synopsis, this was going to be a thriller but it definitely was not. The timeline of the book scales over 5 years and the chapters jump between present day and 5 years ago.

Erin is set to marry Simon, the love of her life. However when she reaches the end of the Isle it’s not Simon who is waiting for her. Erin doesn’t understand what’s going on because surely this must be a trick. This sets the scene to discover the journey Erin and Simon have been on over the last 5 years and Erin soon starts to discover that the man she loves may not be who she thinks he is.

I liked Erin’s character and wanted something good for her! I didn’t expect the book to turn out how it did, I was expecting a big shocker moment but it didn’t really come as I predicted part of what I thought would happen.

What a lovely story that will make you believe in magical dreams again. This story is a scary one as we could all fall over, hit our head and get a form of amnesia, and that’s a scary story, but the author has done this so well, you care so deeply for Erin, as she struggles through her thoughts and her new reality. There is something about this story that will suck you in, you feel for Simon, as the story unfolds, but do you know its Gil who surprised me most, he has something special going on. But it was the place descriptions that got to me, they blew me away and swept me up so I could feel the fresh sea air on my skin. Get swept up in the story and find out if dreams do come true.

I was thoroughly disappointed with this book, I have loved all her previous books but this wasn't for me.

I didn't like all the swapping about with the different timelines and just couldn't get into the storyline.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this ARC.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC of Always and Only You. I loved it! I really enjoyed the self-finding journey of the FMC. There are some really funny parts early on, but lots of emotions throughout. Very little smut but lots of feels. Even though I could guess the outcome of the story, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
My only criticism is the way the text message exchange is written: no quotation marks or a different font to signal where the message started/ended within the sentence. It made it harder to read. (I will leave a copy of this review on Amazon once the book is published.)

A fab slow burner. I didn't get confused with the going back and forth in time. I did find some of the passages with text messages to be boring. Other than that though I really enjoyed this book. It held my attention throughout. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
