Snowed in with you - this was the perfect cheesy romance for the winter months! Usually this would be perfect over Christmas but i did like that it was set just after Christmas. Lucy was a character with a lot going on, considering everyone seemed to fall in love with her at the drop of a hat I wasn't sure where it came from, she isn't a warm/communicative person and mostly seemed to have the personality of 'french exit' even though Nate was a lot more relatable.
I liked Nate and Jonno, I felt they bought a lot to the story and it was nice that Lucy's best friend was male - because men and women can absolutely be friends without it being anything more so THANK YOU HEIDI.
I did like how this book flowed really well and wasn't rushed, the time jumps were done really well in almost all areas. Not sure what the rush to get to Geneva to instantly move on to back in the UK was. But I get that was to remind us about Kristoff for the following pages - though in my opinion this didn't really fit too well with the story.
Overall a really good book!
Colleagues Lucy and Nate join each other for lunch on a mountain top in Switzerland but end up snowed in for the weekend. I can’t imagine better conditions for a romantic spark to ignite. A slow burn love story that swept me up in the journey. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
This is a lovely slow burn love story. Lucy was a very complicated character and by the end you got why she was as she was. Sad at times .Loved the snow lock in and how the internet can change your life. The Glastonbury part I loved. A good neat ending.
This started out more intense than I anticipated, yet while there is some serious content, the story was engaging, endearing & at times humorous. I enjoyed it!
Thanks #NetGalley for the ARC e-book!
This book is definitely one of my favourite wintery books that I have read this year. It was funny and sweet and I loved Lucy and Nate. It made me all warm and fuzzy inside - the perfect book to read by the fire under a cozy blanket. I will definitely be recommending this book for all to read. The cover was the cutest as well.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
Lucy agrees to a work trip with her colleges to Switzerland, but they have a last-minute arrival going with them. they get snowed in and Lucy finds herself drawn to the extra person.
Lucy is hesitant to leave her comfort zone in Bristol for a work trip to the Swiss Alps, especially since it coincides with the anniversary of a traumatic event. However, the allure of an all-expense-paid adventure proves too tempting to resist. Once there, she finds herself stuck with the grumpy Nate—who also doesn’t ski—during a snowstorm, forcing them into close quarters at an alpine bar. As they weather the storm with a colourful group of fellow travellers, Lucy and Nate begin to uncover unexpected depths in each other amidst the cosy atmosphere of roaring fires and warm drinks. A story of self-discovery and a budding romance is sure to warm hearts.
This is the second book I have read by Heidi, it was fantastic, a definite 5 star read and I would recommend everyone reads a copy of this book.
Lucy works in advertising and is not living her life fully after the sudden death of her twin brother Leo 11 years ago.
A work trip to Switzerland changes everything when she is snowed in and stranded in a ski hut with some exuberant characters. This part of the book had me laughing out loud while also shedding some tears.
What follows is a rollercoaster ride for Lucy with lots of unexpected twists and turns along the way.
I didn’t want this book to end, it had great characters, a brilliant setting and the perfect amount of romance.
Thanks to NetGalley, Heidi Stephen’s and Headline for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
Thank you Netgalley and Headline for my ARC copy.
3.5⭐️ read
To start with I was really unsure if I was going to like this book at all as I found it a bit slow to get into but the more I read the more I enjoyed it. Its gives festive vibes but more for the ski resort setting. It wouldn't be a favourite book of mine but I know friends who would absolutely eat this up.
A romcom set in the UK about a woman named Lucy who goes on a ski retreat, then gets snowed in. She has several friends with benefits but meets someone she likes even better during the avalanche. There was no power and they sang to each other and it was goofy.
This one was not my favorite. I thought it was boring and found myself skimming. Cute premise, but I think it was hokey and it was a love triangle/love hexagon. Not my favorite trope.
Thanks to @netgalley and @headlinebooks for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Book to be published October 24, 2024.

Book Review: Snowed In with You
I want to thank NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy of Snowed In with You by Heidi Stephens. This delightful novel had me hooked from the start, blending warmth, humor, and a touch of romance in a beautiful alpine setting.
Lucy’s journey resonated with me deeply. Having not left her city for years, the opportunity to join a work trip to the Swiss Alps felt both exciting and daunting. The emotional weight of her past—specifically the memories tied to a significant weekend eleven years ago—added depth to her character. I appreciated how her internal struggles were woven seamlessly into the plot, making her feel relatable and real.
The dynamic between Lucy and Nate was particularly captivating. Initially, Nate’s moody demeanor had me bracing for conflict, but as they found themselves snowed in together, their banter and growing connection felt natural and heartwarming. The mix of their personalities and the circumstances they faced led to some genuinely touching moments that made me root for them.
The supporting cast in the alpine bar added an extra layer of charm and humor, creating a vibrant backdrop to Lucy and Nate's developing relationship. The descriptions of the cozy setting, complete with roaring fires and glühwein, made me yearn for a winter getaway myself.
What I found most compelling was how the story balanced themes of love, grief, and self-discovery. Lucy's journey was not just about romance; it was also about finding herself again and learning to embrace new possibilities. The pacing was spot-on, with moments of tension and tenderness that kept me engaged throughout.
Overall, Snowed In with You is an uplifting and beautifully crafted read that is perfect for the holiday season or any time you need a little escapism. Heidi Stephens has created a heartwarming story that reminds us of the importance of taking chances, and I can’t recommend it enough!
First of all thank you for approving my request!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.
I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.
The all expenses paid trip to a fancy ski resort didn’t end up sounding appealing for very long once Lucy was stuck in a restaurant on the side of a mountain! Even if it did mean she was stuck with Nate, who had occupied a lot of her brain space since they left for the trip.
I enjoyed seeing them get to know each other and to begin to open up about their past. They clearly had a strong connection and it was frustrating to see them tiptoe around each other for so long! I felt invested in them realising they were meant to be. I also couldn’t help but feel a little jealous that all of the men wanted Lucy so badly- hot Italian, billionaire, new pop star. Did anyone not want to be her boyfriend?!
A very entertaining and enjoyable read- thank you!
Thank you to NetGalley and Headline for this ARC.
Lucy is 32 and works in an advertising agency with her best friend Jonno who has kept her upright since her twin brother Leo committed suicide 11 years ago. She juggles two lovers, Anthony and Marco, because she thinks that long term relationships aren't for her.
She has just agreed to a work trip with five of her colleagues to Zermatt in Switzerland, organised by a client who produces luxury condoms, even though she should be at home with her parents on the anniversary of Leo's death.
Then she gets snowed in with last-minute addition to the trip, taciturn work colleague Nate. They are stranded in a ski hut called Guntherhütte with owner Gunther, his wife Monica and daughter Chantal, Bee Gees tribute band Andrea and Felix as well as a Dutch gay couple called Alex and Willem, one of them being minor royalty, and the other a constantly filming influencer. Our nine make the best of it with food, lots of alcohol and singing, causing Lucy and Nate to grow closer.
Part Two deals with the fallout from the ski trip that changes quite a few lives and careers. I have to say that part was an unexpected delight. An ordinary story turned extraordinary. And finally, we have grand romantic gestures again. I thought they'd died out with 90s rom-coms!
First of all, I adored Lucy. She's a complex, strong and independent woman knowing her own mind, not a ditzy Bridget Jones type. She's sex-positive in a big way, so if she wants to just have a friend (or two) with benefits, she does and when she wants to express big feelings, she does that too.
I also loved Nate, the anxious but soft MMC, and Jonno, the male BFF who does not want to secretly get into her pants, because he has a lovely wife already, and was a delightful addition to the age old question whether men and women can just be friends. Plus, I laughed out loud at the Sasha twist!
What a fun, romantic and life-affirming read with well-rounded characters and a gorgeous cover. I loved this story and finished it in one sitting. I want it as a movie please. Highly recommended.
What a sweet and tasty five-star read. There are so many amazing characters that you meet along the way in this story, include a couple that will surprise you with twists and turns that will drop your jaw. Lucy was a complex one, you could understand where she was coming from, and she is a very independent lady, who knows her own mind, and that was a lovely thing to see, and I was so happy to see her and her mum interact, it added something extra to the story. Jonno and the Guntherhutte crew are all so well written, that you can’t help adoring them. Honestly, It also surprised me how much like Nate I am, I agree with the flying and the snow, so I adored him, and honestly I loved the way his story went, that surprised me, as I saw the same as everyone else at first, and I’m glad my view changed.
This is such a fun and cozy read for the winter. While there are themes of anxiety, loss and grief, there are also themes of love, family and taking chances. Heidi Stephens does a beautiful job balancing the two to create a story that is impactful, fun and tender. I fell in love and connected with both Lucy and Nate immediately and couldn’t stop rooting for them as individuals and as a couple.
Firstly, thank you so much to Headline, Netgalley & Heidi for the opportunity to read Snowed In With You in exchange for honest feedback.
As a wee trigger warning, there are a couple of mentions of loss / mental health / dr*g use in the story.
Now, on to the review....
Oh my days! I absolutely LOVED this book from the first page all the way through to the end! I read it over 2 days & struggled to put it down for anything other than eating & sleeping!
It was a brilliantly paced story with lovable characters (especially Lucy, Jonno & Nate) and awesome humour, but there were also notes of vulnerability throughout it which endeared me to the characters even more & made them relatable.
Often with this genre, the story is predictable from start to finish, but there were a couple of wee twists that I didn't expect, which made it even more enjoyable!
I thoroughly enjoyed it & would highly recommend it to everyone as a cosy, funny, heartwarming read!
Okay, this book needs to be preordered right now! Go. It was ADORABLE! So so so sweet! It was such a great story.
I loved loved loved this one! It had all the romantic makings of a great book and would make an amazing movie! I loved everything abt it. I could relate to the loss and loved the chemistry between the two main characters. Excellent!
I loved this book so much that i didn’t want to finish it! If you’re looking for a book that gives you all the emotions this is it! Laughed out loud so many times to the disgust of my daughter! Then broke my heart at other bits! Highly recommend! Thank you for a great read!
