I love books that make you feel something. "The dark hours" by Amy Jordan is definitely in this category. This book literally sucks you into its world. You know it's fiction but you feel full spectrum of emotions shedding some tears along the way.
We have a dual timeline that blends seamlessly and explains motivation behind the characters. Masterfully written by new voice of Irish fiction. It's really hard to believe that it's a debut as this book is so complex yet feels complete. I was so immersed in the story that I've tried to slow down my reading as I didn't want it to finish and I'm quietly hoping to read more about Julia soon. I'm extremely grateful to #NetGalley and #harpercollins for giving me the opportunity to be one of the first readers to review early copy. It was a pleasure. One of the easiest 5 stars I've given

It was a dark and gripping I really liked the main character Julia. There was many twists and turns that kept me glued to my kindle.

This is a new author and definitely one to watch! I can’t wait to read more from her in the future!

Unfortunately not for me. I struggled to connect with the writing style. May try again in the future.

I liked our main character, that she was an older lady, with a lot of past cases and experience to reflect on.
I liked the dual timeline, that switched at just the right time back and forth.


Some good leads to follow,some predictable turn of events but at least one surprise for me, which is always good.
I enjoyed this one and wouldn't hesitate to pick up another with same character.
