This is the final book in the Love Trippin series by Savannah Scott and involves an online friendship that evolves into so much more. Alana is a famous actress with equally famous parents. When she meets Stevens online, he has no idea who she really is. A closed door romance with great banter and chemistry.
ARC Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Alana Graves is a famous actress. When she isn’t filming or promoting her latest project, she enjoys her quiet life on a small, California Island. In order to stay out of the spotlight and maintain her anonymity, she keeps to herself. Staying home would be difficult for most people, but she finds solace playing an online word game as SaturdayIslandGirl.
Stevens has only ever lived in one place. As a young boy he learned turtles were an endangered species. Inspired by that fact, he grew up to become a marine biologist. Now he spends his days giving tours to educate the public and conducting research. While he has a small group of close friends, being the last single member creates its own challenges.
So when Alana’s trusted driver becomes unavailable, she is connected with Stevens. He agrees to shuttle her to the mainland via his boat. Will their time spent together lead to a new relationship, or will her fame be too much for him to bear?
Reel Love by Savannah Scott is the latest book in her Love Trippin’ series. While all of the books are connected through reoccurring characters and set in the same small town, they can be enjoyed altogether or individually as standalones.
I adore this series. As a fan of Savannah Scott I have had the pleasure of reading many of her books. They have all been great, but there is something special about this series. The male main characters in particular stand out. They break the stereotypical mold of what a man should be. For instance, Stevens possesses a quiet confidence. He is doesn’t allow his partner being more ‘successful’ to intimidate him.
If you are seeking a clean/ closed door romance without a problematic male protagonist, I urge you to check this one out.
Special thanks to Netgalley, Victoria Editing, and Savannah Scott for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was really cute. I loved every new little revelation of how they already knew each other. She was able to let go of the fame and just be herself around him and I love that.
I received an arc through netgalley.
This series really do not disapoint!
We follow Alana, a really big and famous actress, that has a little peace of heaven on the little secluded island of Marbella. Even with all the fame she is a sweet and down to earth girl, and a bit nerdy too (after all her past time is online scrabble). She meets Stevens online and for months they don't really get to know one another, but their interes grows with each daily game. With a little time they get to know each other o line and then meet face to face. And what are the odds of already knowing each other? When their relationship starts so do the questions? How will they deal with fame and its repercutions? Can they go through?
I really like this sweet and slow burn story. Both characters were really likeable and even Alana is written in a way as if fame was not a huge part of her life. Stevens is just a nerdy sweet guy, and he is perfection!
As well as in the previous books, the side characters are amazing , and in this one I really liked Brigitte and would love to read her story too!
This is the very best mash up of a celebrity romance,
You've Got Mail vibes, and small island goodness!
Stevens and Alana stole my heart-they are just the
sweetest, and the way they help each other grow,
all the layers of hidden identity, and a thread that
connects them in the sweetest ways-it is just an
entirely sweet, funny, swoon-worthy read! Great ending to the Love Tripping Series by Savannah Scott Book 5 is a yes to all!
Alana is an A-list movie star and has the life people dream of. But it's not all glitz and glamour in her world. She is isolated and lonely and one of the only people she connects with is a mystery person, that is who knows where, that she plays a word game with online.
Stevens would rather just deal with sea slugs than all the unwanted female affection he gets on the ocean tours he guides. He knows what he likes and lives his life in pursuit of those things. One way he unwinds and has fun is to play a word game online.
When these two start flirting online, they have no clue they live in the same time zone, much less on the same island. And although they have the same zip code, they live in two different worlds. Can their chemistry overcome the logic that they are better apart?

What a wonderful conclusion to this series. I have loved all these characters and I appreciate that we get to continue to see glimpses of the couples from previous books in each subsequent book.
Stevens reminds me of a more nerdy version of my husband and I love him for it. We too met online and played many online games with friendly trash talk as we dated long distance, so that aspect of story was extra poignant for me.
I loved the chemistry between Stevens and Alana and how he went out of his way to show her that he saw her for who she is.
I cannot wait for what Savannah has next up her sleeve!

This is a closed door, kisses only rom com. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.
Content Note: strained parent/child relationship
Available on Kindle Unlimited
Thank you to the author for the gifted book. All opinions are my own.
I read this book without reading the previous books and I still loved it! I now have to go back and read the previous books. I love the way this couple met and the whole book was so cute.
I loved being back on Marabella island. This book was so sweet and had me laughing with the banter and glasses bit. The two main characters were very lovable.
The FMC is an actress and the MMC is an attractive marine biologist. The way the two characters meet was very You’ve Got Mail and boy did that make me happy. I really liked the themes of found family, sticking up for the people you love, and a core group of friends.
Thank you to netgalley for the ebook in exchange for an honest review!
Adorable, very sweet. Ren and Alana were too cute. I loved all the supportive friends in this too. This is part of a larger series and I haven't read the others but I definitely will after reading this one. I loved the little plot twist/reveal towards the end.
I think this is my favorite book in the Love Trippin’ series! I loved Alana and Stevens’ story and all the supporting characters. Alana’s parents might be the only characters in the whole book who weren’t just instantly likable! There were so many shared connections between Alana and Stevens yet it always felt authentic. Truly a beautiful story!
Reel Love is the fifth book in Savannah Scott’s Love Trippin’ series, which takes place on Marbella Island, California. It is a sequel to Are We There Yet?, A Fish Out of Water, Catch A Wave, and Resorting to Romance, but can easily be read as a stand-alone. The Marbella Island location was also used in A Not So Fictional Fall. Reel Love is a closed-door celebrity, hidden identity romantic comedy. The story is told in alternating POV from Alana and Stevens. There are no sex scenes or profanity.
Alana Graves is a famous actress who comes from a prominent Hollywood family. She lives on Marbella Island in order to keep a distance from her toxic mother, Angelique, and stay out of the limelight as much as possible. She enjoys playing an online Scrabble game, Play on Words, as user SaturdayIslandGirl. Over six months she forms a friendship with another player, Wordivore.
Eventually Alana realizes that Wordivore is a man, and she has developed romantic feelings for him. Meanwhile, Alana meets Stevens, a handsome but shy marine biologist on Marbella Island. Their connection deepens when they figure out each other’s online identities. Alana has to decide if he can possibly fit into her world, primarily being able to live in the spotlight and deal with paparazzi. Alana can’t really abandon her family’s legacy, even though she wants to.
Alana and Stevens are more mature than the characters in the earliest Love Trippin’ stories, and they seem more authentic somehow. The storyline has a You’ve Got Mail vibe, and readers will laugh at the antics from the secondary characters, especially Alana’s assistant. I enjoyed the cameos from characters in earlier books, but this story truly can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. Reel Love is the best story in the Love Trippin’ series, and I really hope that the author writes Brigitte’s story next!
I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Victory Editing Co-op for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Reel Love
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Savannah Scott book is always a good time. And this one didn’t disappoint either. It was great to be back in Marbella Island and be among old friends. I especially loved Ben & Summer in A Fish Out Of Water.
Alana & Steven’s story was also as beautiful. Eventhough Alana is an established popular Hollywood star, yet the book doesn’t play too much on her hollywood life as most celebrity romances do. And that’s what makes it different. It is a view into her real self when she is not in the reel world. You feel how she is so lonely and under constant pressure from her parents. I absolutely cheered for her & Stevens.
Stevens & Alana meet through an online word game app, and their conversations over the app are so cute. While they do not know of their real identities over the app, they also happen to meet in person on the island and develop a friendship with some chemistry. It was so much fun seeing them realize and acknowledge their feelings in both the real world and through the app. Stevens was such a green flag, he is a hot marine biologist with great sense of humour and someone who treats Alana just as Alana, not a superstar. It was lovely to see how there was no unnecessary third act drama, but rather a mature relationship where they communicated well with each other.
Though it’s part of a series but can be easily read as a standalone. If you are looking for a closed door celebrity romance, do recommend this.
This is the fifth book in the series yet I loved the fact that it can be read as a standalone too. This is my first read from the author's work and I enjoyed reading it.
It's a celebrity romcom with the hidden identity trope which was very interesting and brilliantly written by the author. The characters were well drafted and executed too which made the plotline wonderful.
I am excited to read more of this author's work .
This book was so cute. The characters were very like able and I really enjoyed reading this book. They main characters had great character development throughout the story. Would highly recommend this book!
This celebrity, secret identity, sweet romcom hit all the right notes for me. From cover to cover, the book had clever banter, moments that made me laugh out loud, and lots of chemistry while staying clean. There were wonderful, fully-developed characters in this story that felt like people I would want to hang out with. I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series but this one may be my favorite. I loved it! Highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed at completely my own.
This is a cute story but it really didn't catch me like I thought it would. The hardest part is that I can't put my finger on why. The characters were okay, though not as relatable as I prefer. It wasn't a bad story, but it just didn't resonate with me either.
I really enjoyed this book! The characters and the plot are very well written and the story was interesting and thought out well. I would definitely recommend this book to my audience and friends.
Wow, what a great book! This is book 5 in the Love Trippin series by Savannah Scott. It has fun cameos from the other characters in the series, but can be read as a standalone. I love the setting of Marbella Island. The main characters Alana and Stevens are too cute. Stevens is a brainy and sexy marine biologist. Alana is a movie star. I love that they met online and got to know one another before ever meeting. The love story was totally predictable, but that was not a bad thing at all. It was such a cute story and you are routing for them to get together and be happy!

"I’ve found tacos solve many problems. And the ones they don't solve, well... they don't hurt."
“He's getting used to me. And i like the idea of that a lot.”
“Whew. There's this feeling underwater when you're free diving. Gravity ceases to exist. You're one with the beauty surrounding you- unrestricted. The experience is intimating at first and wholly overwhelming. This. She's my free dive.”
Thank you to the author Savannah Scott and NetGalley for the advanced electronic copy of the book!
A book I really enjoyed reading. A quick and easy read.
The story of how two worlds, supposedly so different, can complement each other so well and how facing even those we love the most can end in a happy ending.
I loved Stevens and the way he was always honest and true to himself, always showing his love for Alana. The scientific jokes also contributed. Who doesn't like a nerdy MMC?
A 4-star, without a doubt!
How could I possibly love another book in this series more than what I already have? Well, it is possible, I can tell you!
The title is perfection with marine biologist Stevens as our MMC and movie star Alana as the FMC. In this surprise celebrity romance, Stevens and Alana's lives are more intertwined than what they know, and each layer peeled back deepens their sweet relationship and how much we, the readers, love them.
I'm a huge fan of the good guys, and with guys like Bodhi and Kai preceeding Stevens, he had big shoes to fill! But he filled them oh so well with his protection, his wisdom, and his goofiness. He strikes the balance of nerdy and sexy, as Alana can attest (especially when he wears his glasses).
Alana is a Hollywood nepo-baby, and she would really prefer to quit catering to everyone's desires but her own. Her parents have even gone so far to set her up with a fake boyfriend to promote her career. She is tired of giving in, and meeting Stevens is the breath of fresh air she has been waiting for. But how can a regular guy and a movie star make it work?
This book had me giggling out loud on the regular with the witty banter and fantastic characters. Alana and Stevens couldn't be sweeter and this was a fabulous ending to the series with all our favorites returning to help make their dream come true.
I received a complimentary copy of this story from the publisher and my friends at NetGalley to read and review. All thoughts contained here are my own.
