He. Is. Finally. Back. The eternal wait for the return of Adam Fawley has been a long time coming. Was it worth the wait? Oh hell yes! Cara Hunter delivers us another wonderfully written story in that unique style of hers that I find so captivating. Although this the seventh instalment it is in fact a sequel to her debut story in the Fawley series as we see Adam once again entangled in the Daisy Mason case. An absolutely brilliant move on the authors part to revisit this story. I settled straight back into this from the off as the author subtly included a synopsis of the original case so very easy for the reader to pick up where book one left off. Because of the way Cara writes it lets the story flow beautifully and naturally and is paced to perfection. Loved the way we got to ‘know’ sixteen year old Daisy, brilliantly executed and that ending - what a cliffhanger! This for me is an author that never puts a foot wrong and has never delivered anything less than a five star read. An absolutely cracking read.

A Superlative Series..
The seventh outing in the DI Fawley series and a cleverly woven novel of suspense as a figure of the past returns, DNA evidence is turned on its head and Fawley and team are brought back to investigate. What actually did happen to Daisy Mason? Making excellent use of multi media inclusions, superb character studies and a truly gripping storyline, this is another worthy and unique addition to this superlative series.

Wow this was a very surprising story with the resurrection of Daisy Mason in a shocking but credible continuation eight years after Close to Home and her mother’s conviction for her murder. Cleverly combining the podcast team from Murder in the Family as well as a link to Hope to Die this is a very well woven and quite terrifying investigation. I loved the format of this with a mix of media combined with elements of the investigation told from many different viewpoints. Cara Hunter has also done a fantastic job of moving on six years since the last Fawley case yet pulling together his team in this investigation along with incorporating some fresh faces. Daisy has developed into an even more complex character and I loved reading her shadow journals, it did a great job of explaining what happened six years ago and what her life has been like since whilst also giving us a good perspective of the person she now is. The writing is sharp with a lot of wit along the way and the storyline was gripping and whilst the ending was slightly frustrating due to its open ending I would like to think there's more to Daisy’s story yet.

Ugh why’ why why does Cara always have to leave the book with an open ending?! I want more!!! Fawley comes full circle in this book. We started with Daisy Mason and now we visit her case once again. As always, her books are full of suspense and shocking twists. The formatting for some pictures and articles was goofy though. And some paragraphs were repeated more than once, but the book was still amazing. I want to know what happens!!

Unfortunately I am unable to give feeeback for this book
The formatting is all out on my kindle when it comes to the Kindle media pieces making the book almost impossible to read
If you have a better version I would be more than happy to review that copy
