Carrie and Luke have a past, do they get a second chance at love or will the impending hurricane blow there chances away??
Set on a private Caribbean island, Carrie is there to talk business, hoping to make partner. Then discovered the person she’s discussing business is a ex from 7 years ago. Is this chance??

This was my first novel by Laura Carter and I will definitely be seeking out more novels for her. I loved the characters of Carrie and Joe and the supportive characters. The backdrop of the Carribbean remote Island was perfect.

I cried, I giggled, I smirked, I may have got a little angry and annoyed. Carter put me through the emotional mill but I loved it!! This may be my first encounter of Carter’s writing but she is going on my read list for the entertaining rom-coms I love in between my crime fiction. It was utterly gorgeous!

While I understood why each character felt how they did.. I’m just really not a fan of the miscommunication trope, because why did we spend over 200 pages with them going back and forth about something rather then just having a conversation.

I adored this book, the pace was fab, the banter too. I loved all the characters and I just found myself flying through it because I didn't want to put it down.

This wasn't your usual romance, well just romance novel. Reading this while seeing all the current news stories about the hurricane was a bit surreal. Obviously I have no experience with this topic but I really do think it was portrayed in a realistic way and really helped me open my eyes to things I hadn't even thought of.

I really liked the mix of people we got to meet and how all their lifes mixed together. Brilliant book, perfect for getting lost in! Another book of Laura's that I've really enjoyed!

“Stuck in Paradise with You” by Laura Carter tells the story of Carrie Briggs, a successful accountant who is tasked with auditing the accounts of a billionaire on his private island. Unbeknownst to her, this assignment will force her to confront her past and confront the man who broke her heart seven years prior: Luke Chalmers, the company’s CFO.

The story explores themes of second chances, forgiveness, and the complexities of past heartbreak. While the enemies-to-lovers trope is well-executed, the constant miscommunication between Carrie and Luke can feel frustrating at times. The inclusion of a tropical island setting adds a touch of escapism, but the pacing of the plot can feel uneven at times.

Despite some minor shortcomings, “Stuck in Paradise with You” offers a lighthearted and entertaining read. The characters, while not entirely original, are engaging, and the story provides a pleasant escape for readers seeking a feel-good romance with a touch of tropical paradise.

Stuck in Paradise with You by Laura Carter is an utterly captivating second-chance romance that combines sizzling chemistry with a breathtaking tropical setting. Carrie Briggs is on the brink of a career breakthrough when she's sent to a private Caribbean island to work with billionaire Joe Hettich. However, her professional dreams quickly collide with her personal past when she encounters Luke Chalmers, the man who broke her heart seven years ago.

The story seamlessly blends tension and romance as Carrie is forced to confront her unresolved feelings for Luke while navigating a storm—both literal and emotional—on the island. The chemistry between Carrie and Luke is undeniable, and the slow-burn romance that unfolds is nothing short of irresistible.

Carter masterfully crafts a story filled with passion, heartache, and humor, as Carrie and Luke work through their past to find a way back to each other. Stuck in Paradise with You is the perfect escape for anyone who loves a second-chance romance with an unforgettable happy-ever-after. It's a page-turner that will leave you swooning for the perfect blend of heart, heat, and paradise.

Carrie Briggs is this close to achieving her career goal when she's sent to a private Caribbean island to assist a billionaire client, Joe Hettich. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when Carrie discovers her ex, Luke Chalmers, the man who once broke her heart, works as the CFO of Joe's company. This puts Carrie in a difficult position, having to face unresolved feelings and navigate the tension while trying to stay focused on her professional goals.
Carrie is a relatable character, trying to juggle her career aspirations with the awkwardness of her past, and the tension with Luke adds both drama and heart to the story. The chemistry between Carrie and Luke is palpable, and their emotional journey feels real and satisfying.

This is an easy, delightful story that blends humor with heartfelt moments, and just the right amount of drama. It’s perfect if you're looking for a lighthearted, yet emotionally resonant story. It has just the right amount of tension and heart to keep you hooked from start to finish.

This is the first book I’ve read by Laura Carter and I found rather charming! I’d rate this 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars.

This book hit the tropes of exes being force to work together, miscommunication, and others seeing what the two main characters couldn’t.

Carrie and Luke dated seven years ago for a passion filled six weeks shortly after Luke separated from his wife. While Carrie was waiting to surprise him for his birthday, he received a text that changed his life and prevented him from meeting up with Carrie.

Now they are forced back together in a work situation and the hurt and angry feelings from the past come spewing out. As a hurricane closes in on their work trip, will they be able to reconcile their difference and clear the air? Or will their story be just as destructive as the hurricane?

Thank you NetGalley, Laura Carter, and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a candid review. This book is available now so go check it out along with the other works of Laura Carter. I know I intend to!

Another great romance by Laura Carter!

I always find Laura’s books easy reads and great for escaping. This one is a forced proximity (although not sure I’d be complaining about an all expenses paid trip to a 5 star island) enemies to lovers and miscommunication tropes.

I loved both the main characters although I did want to scream at them to just talk it out as they were both jumping to so many conclusions.

All in all a great read I’d recommend for romance lovers.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this book!

I DNF’d this book because I felt a massive miscommunication coming and I wasn’t vibing with the characters like they they could’ve just had an adult conversation to begin with and there would’ve been no unknowns

My Thoughts: I absolutely adored this one, really struggled to put it down because everything was just perfect, even though the main characters lack of communication throughout was driving me to distraction! To the point where I just wanted to bang their heads together, but that being said I was totally here for it!

The setting was an absolute dream, and Joe was just the most amazing side character, yes he’s a billionaire and has everything he could ever want but it hasn’t gone to his head, all that really matters to him is the happiness of his family and his best friend Luke. I just wanted to give him a big cuddle and tell him how amazing he was.

Carrie and Luke are just meant to be, you can tell.. they try and hate each other, but they get when they’re angry and frustrated with each other you can feel the love, the angst and the sexual frustration.. the only people that couldn’t see it was themselves 😂

I highly recommend this one!!

This is only the second book by Laura that I’ve read but they’ve both been 5 stars! I can’t wait to dive into her back catalogue and she’s firmly secured herself as an auto buy author for me 😍

This was such a sweet book! Like literally very adorable and I absolutely loved it! The way everything is dealt with is so beautiful and the author did a good job discussing the aftermath of the hurricane too - made it more real.

In this spicy, tropey, and chaotic Caribbean workplace romance, readers join Carrie Briggs just as she is about to have a career breakthrough at her accountancy firm. With her final hoop being working with billionaire Joe Hettich on his private Caribbean island, Carrie has no problems with hitting a career milestone on a tropical getaway -- until she realizes that Luke Chalmers, her ex who picked his ex over her seven years ago, is critical to the whole operation as Joe’s CFO. Dealing with their complicated personal history and the proximity forced on them by work and the private island, readers join Carrie and Luke as storms brew (literally and figuratively) and threaten to upend everything she thought she knew. With brilliant characters and funny tropical tropes, readers will love the obstacles and events in play in this summery and spicy romance novel. Carrie is a classic romance protagonist, and her history with Luke (and their new interactions) will really immerse the readers into this new book by Laura Carter. With a lot going on and a lot at stake, readers will love the pacing and structure of this classic summer romance read, and they definitely want to know what happens with Carrie and Luke.

I was really interested in this title based on the blurb, but the way the book was written ended up not really working for me. The details of how they knew one another was enough for drama and conflict, but the situations they kept finding themselves in felt like the author was reaching for "more" instead of focusing on the story she was already telling.

I am not able to recommend this title.

This was a dnf for me at because I just couldn’t get onto the story. I was hoping that I would because it sounded great with the summer vibes. This was not expected and not in a good way. The main characters just seemed boring with no depth, it seemed forced.

I loved this book. It was the first book I have read from this author, and I was not disappointed. It was a fun and playful rom com with the main characters Abbey and Ted. The characters were well written, and I enjoyed every minute of this book. I can't wait for more from this author. I highly recommend this for a cozy and fun read.

I have very mixed feelings about this one!

On the one hand, I loved the setting and do think that it would be a great summer read - it made me really miss summer! On the other hand, I did find it to drag quite a bit towards the end. I also think I read it at the wrong time for me and struggled to really get into it.

I did find it easy to read though and think it would be really good as a holiday read, it just wasn't for me.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc. 🫶🏻
