I must be honest, if Ryan was my husband, I would've drowned him in the nearest swimming pool! What a twat. I really love Gemma's books, and can't wait to read more in future.

This book hit me right between the eyes from the first page. It was so twisty and the characters were so evil. I was so addicted to this book, desperate to find out what would happen next and the opportunity ending just blew me away. Looking forward to Gemma's next book. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Another twisty read by the talented Gemma Rogers, I love how easy flowing her books are , they just stuck you straight into the plot from the very beginning. It's Kelly's big day, the day she married her long term lover and she is having the very best day, however as she slips outside for some fresh air away from family and friends her beautiful day is destroyed as she stumbles across her new husband and best friend getting very up close and personal in a summer house. Kelly is obviously devastated and flees her wedding , she makes a rash decision to go on her honeymoon alone. The story takes us to a beautiful location and Kelly tries to get her head around what she will do next when not only does the cheating husband turn up but also some unwanted guests too. A great twisty read that makes you think you know what's going on until the twist hits you in the guts. A brilliant easy read.
Atmospheric and realistic. Another great thriller by Gemma Rogers. I felt Kelly was brave to go on her honeymoon alone. I’ve never been to Crete, and the hotel with luxury rooms was very well described. All the surroundings were so visual.
I liked Nico, Janice and Janice’s husband as well as Kelly’s sister Ruby. I felt angry and disappointed in Ryan.
As always, Gemma Rogers’ writing style had me hooked, and the pacing was perfect.
Thanks to Gemma Rogers and Boldwood Books for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
5 stars.
This book took me a minute to get into but once I was hooked I didn't stop until the end. I found the extra romance fling to be a little unnecessary but it was easy enough to skim past. I though the dynamic between the two girls was fun to watch and I wish they had more scenes together.
3.5 rounded up. A quick and easy thriller that helped me knock a book off my reading goal. It wasn't anything super original but I still enjoyed the plot and pace of the book.
I was so excited to dive into this book, expecting a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller—but I’ve been left utterly baffled.
I kept reading, waiting for that rush of suspense or a jaw-dropping twist to pull me in, but it never materialised. The pacing felt sluggish, the plot was predictable, and I struggled to connect with the characters or care about what was happening. I’m honestly not sure what was meant to be thrilling about it; the whole thing just fell rather flat for me.
I really wanted to enjoy this, but it ultimately left me feeling disappointed and a bit confused. Perhaps it just wasn’t my cup of tea, but if you’re after a truly captivating psychological thriller, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
The Honeymoon had me hooked from the first chapter. It was full of suspense, drama, and betrayal.
I love Kelly, she's a great main character, she's very relatable. The other characters aren't very likable, but that just made it all the more interesting.
This is the first book I've read from Gemma, but it definitely won't be the last.
I highly recommend.
4 stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to Netgalley, Boldwood Books, and Gemma Rogers for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This wasn't my favourite read of the year. Not bad but then not great either.
I found Kelly idiotic, Ryan absolutely awful (which I don't mind, but does he have to be so spineless?), and Liza shallow and vain. Liza's husband is about as dumb as a box of rocks. I could not relate to any of them (except maybe Nico, the handsome Greek love interest). Oh, and I loved the island.
3 stars. It wasn't a complete waste of time, but it was pretty average.
This was a quick read. Entertaining and I enjoyed her writing style. A little bit predictable,
I would definitely read another by this author in the future.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's all about betrayal, lies, affairs and a honeymoon from hell. The characters were dislikable making it difficult to root for anyone. It was twisted and friendships were tested. It has an interesting ending. I would recommend the page turner as it moves along very well and I enjoyed it.
I have read several books by this author and she never disappoints.
Kelly discovers her husband Ryan having sex with her best friend on their wedding day and decides to go on her honeymoon to Crete alone. In a few days, after finding his passport, Ryan shows up also along with his mistress and her husband (who by the way is his business partner.) Things really go awry from here. Just before they get home Kelly finds out that they are practically bankrupt, thanks to Ryan's incompetence. Things just keep going from bad to worse until the unexpected ending. Great book I loved it.
When you catch your husband with another woman on your wedding day, what is a woman to do? Kelly doesn't have the start to marriedlife that she'd hope for and it csn only get better surely? I couldn't put this down and read it in a day. Absolutely brilliant
This was a quick and easy read. I had very high expectations as I love Gemma Rogers as an author.
There were many good elements to the story. For example, I loved the role of the villain and how that was played out in the story. I also liked how your view of who the villain is chances slightly as the story progresses.
I did find the tag line was misleading somewhat as it had me waiting for something that didn't happen for a long time. Also, the ending fell a little flat for me.
Overall, an enjoyable read but one that struggled to maintain its strong tense start, in my opinion.
This was an great book. Not at all what I was suspecting and had me trying to guess what would happen(I was never right). It was more suspenseful towards the end but all throughout had me wanting to read more. I'm hoping there is going to be a second book!
My wedding was the perfect whirlwind of a day. The happiest I’d ever been. That was until I discovered my beloved husband, Ryan, tucked away in a compromising summer house clinch with Liza, his best friend’s wife.
Reeling with this ultimate betrayal, my world in freefall, with nowhere to turn, I flee my own wedding unable to face anyone, not even my family. I just want to escape this nightmare.
With our flight, to our luxury honeymoon leaving in a matter of hours, could ten blissful days of Cretan Island life, minus my cheating husband help me figure out my future? It couldn’t be this easy, could it?
After a few blissful days of sunshine, my peace is shattered with the arrival of my husband, denying everything.
It seems he’s got secrets. Big secrets. More than I could ever have imagined.
With my marriage all but dead I just need to get through the honeymoon and then it'll all be over... won't it?
I love Gemma Rogers' writing style. She paints a vivid picture with her words and makes you feel like you are a part of the action. Will recommend to others.
I really enjoyed this book! I look forward to reading other books by this author. There were so many twists in this book I didn’t see coming. But then again I rarely can figure books out. I would definitely recommend this book
The Honeymoon by Gemma, Rogers, when newly wed Kelly steps out at her reception to get some fresh air. The last thing she expects to see his husband Ryan with the best man’s wife, Liz. reeling from the shock and betrayal on what was supposed to be the best day of her young life. Kelly decides to take the only route she can think of and flees to their honeymoon in Greece. The first night there she is worried about Ryan showing up despite hiding his passport, but she still tries to relax at the bar where she meets Nico, who will become her only solace on this crazy trip. because Ryan finds his passport and shows up like nothing happened, and when she tells him what she saw and why she’s leaving, he blows it off and gaslights her or at least tries, but to make matters worse that night at dinner, she’s shocked to see Bobby and Liz, also or joining them on the honeymoon from hell. when she tries to refuse hanging out with the other couple, Ryan tells her to put her big girl panties on because she isn’t leaving him and if she does, it will be to her financial ruin not to mention he helps pay for her dad‘s care. Liz wants nothing more than to catch a flight home but going home may not be the safe Haven. She believes it to be I have skipped a lot of events that happened like how she was almost killed on their excursions and so much more that caused me to believe although worth rooting for that Kelly was an idiot. despite she reacted like a normal person in most situations, there were other things that made me think she wasn’t that bright not to mention at the end of the book. Someone saved her life and not for the first time and yet she tells this person she never wants to see them again… I mean, I guess I get it but not really. Having said that this really was a great intoxicating read that I found hard to put down and I know people say that and don’t mean it, but I mean it this book I found to be a great person to root for irregardless of the fact, everyone else turned out to be terrible I definitely recommend this book, if you love great thriller stories with characters that respond like normal people then you’ll definitely enjoy this book. I certainly did. #NetGalley, #BoldWoodBooks, #GemmaRogers, #TheHoneymoon,.
Unfortunately I really struggled to get into this book. I found it wasn't overly engaging or captivating which was a real let down.
This was marketed as a thriller however I do not feel like there were many thriller elements to this.
I did enjoy the easy pace and the flowing writing style of this author and I would be willing to try another book by them
This was an exciting thriller from Gemma Rogers. A woman sees her newlywed husband snogging with another lady and decides to take off on her honeymoon on her own. Will her new husband follow her? What will happen? This thriller kept me guessing the entire time. I enjoyed the twists and turns. The beginning was super strong as well. I loved the idea of the wife running off to her honeymoon without her new husband. The ending was unexpected but quite satisfying as well. This was my first read from Gemma Rogers and I look forward to checking out more from her!
