I have read and enjoyed many books by Rogers now and have become accustomed to her writing style with her books always being four or five star reads.

The Honeymoon is a fast paced, twistfest that rapidly swirls into Kelly's worst nightmare and things are over before they have a chance to begin.

Characters are depicted perfectly and they made for a great domestic thriller.

An enjoyable and easy read.

This was absolutely amazing! I was totally enthralled with this story from beginning to end, I could barely put it down, and when I finally read the last page, the house was dark, I was hungry, thirsty, needed to pee and my neck was stiff. But damn, it was worth it!

This was fast paced, kept me guessing, and I flew through it wanting answers. I didn’t find it a ‘thriller’ per se, more a domestic drama in my opinion. I did expect thriller, so that was a teeny bit of a letdown. But overall it was still good, even if I wanted to punch half the characters for being infuriating.

Writing was great and I look forward to reading more from this author. Appreciate the arc from Netgalley and Gemma!

I really love this author, I don't understand why she isn't more popular. That being said, this wasn't one of my favorite's of hers but it was good enough.

This book started off well and grabbed my attention from the beginning. It had quite a unique story line and kept my attention. I just felt it dragged on quite a bit in the middle and the second part of the book was completely different from the first part and not as enjoyable.

Loved this book! A fast paced quick read that I whizzed through in a day. The story is good and full of deceit and bad behaviour. Not really a thriller, more of a domestic noir but enjoyable all the same.

The Honeymoon by Gemma Roger’s was infuriatingly good. If you like addictive, fast paced, unputdownable, domestic and psychological thrillers then you will love this book.

It’s Kelly and Ryan’s wedding day, when Kelly catches Ryan with Liza in an uncompromising situation. Hurt and angry, she leaves on her honeymoon to Crete alone and didnt say a word to anyone. It’s not to long after she’s there that Ryan finds his passport (Kelly hid it) and heads to Crete…along with Liza and Bobby. Kelly will soon learn not everything is what it seems and who she can trust.

Roger’s did a great job with keeping me guessing. I think she did a great job with the storyline and plot. This was a quick read, but I didn’t want to put it down because I had to know what happened. I felt really bad for Kelly because it was like no one understood why she was angry. I liked watching Kelly find her strength and self worth as the story went along. Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for letting me read this book

While the wedding guests are listening to “Come on Eileen” Ryan, the groom, is tangled in the arms of Liza, the best man’s wife. As Kelly, the bride, steps out of the Sixteen-century Elizabethan Manor for some fresh air, she notices them, shocking to see her teenage sweetheart for ten years and husband for seven hours cheating.
Feeling tired with all the excitement of the day she feels sick and as the flight the next day is approaching to take them to their honeymoon she decides to leave the party.
Her revenge plan is to depart to Greece and hide Ryan’s passport so he would find himself stranded in London.
As she arrives in Crete at the luxury beachfront hotel that Ryan booked for ten days, she thought she will be alone to gather her thoughts and plan the next chapter in her life, but destiny had a different idea…
The story is twisted with main characters that kept many secrets from each other, they lie, cheat, and betray one another.
The tension throughout the story is the main reason I couldn’t put it down.
Thanks to Gemma Rogers, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy

Thank you for the opportunity to preview The Honeymoon. This is not what I expected. A couple who are high school sweethearts have a lavish wedding. No expenses spared. But the bride, Kelly, sees her new husband in the embrace of her best friend. Suddenly she realizes that she’s not the only person who is going to have fun. She goes off by herself to enjoy her honeymoon in Crete.
Saddened and devastated Kelly feels like her life is over.
But her new husband, Ryan, is determined to find Kelly and stay married. And who does he bring with him on the honeymoon? His lover who is Kelly’s friend and her husband who is his friend.
A honeymoon from hell begins. But Ryan has more secrets and lies and soon Kelly realizes she is going to be unhappily married if she doesn’t make some changes. But how can she get rid of her husband and live happily ever after. Not with the the blow up that happens and soon her life is in jeopardy as well as everything she holds dear to her. Nothing is sacred including her life.

The Honeymoon pulled me in from the start. The premise of catching your husband cheating on your wedding day and then going on your honeymoon alone was instantly interesting.

The book is a quick, easy read and it definitely was written in a way thay kept me wanting to read.

It did not feel like a thriller. For a good chunk of the book it read more like women's fiction. I actually enjoyed that despite it being different than I had originally been expecting. When it did take the departure into the thriller space, towards the last third of the story, it felt a bit forced.

The main character made some questionable choices which impacted my ability to enjoy her story.

The husband was awful and so were almost all the other characters except the main character's parents and some of the people she met on her honeymoon.

Overall, The Honeymoon was a quick read. If you like women's fiction then you will like this one. I would happily read other things by this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This book immediately caught my attention right from the first chapter. It is Kelly and Ryan's wedding day and should be the happiest day of their lives but when Kelly sees her new husband and best friend kissing on the grounds of their reception location she immediately takes action. Her flight leaves for Crete first thing in the morning and after hiding Ryan's passport she packs her bags and leaves for Crete on her solo honeymoon to see where she goes from here. After a few days Kelly is not happy to see Ryan show up in Crete but that is not the only surprise she gets on her honeymoon. The first part of this book was great and kept me wanting to read but then as they got back home, the story line was kind of mediocre which lost points for me. Enjoy!!!

Thanks to #NetGalley and #BoldwoodBooks for the book #TheHoneymoon by #GemmaRogers. Kelly had the perfect wedding, until she walks in on her new husband, Ryan in bed with his best friend’s wife, Liza. What else is there to do but go on my honeymoon alone to try and forget everything. So why has Ryan showed up here too? And what secrets does he have?

A truly great thriller. Celebrating your wedding should be one of the most special day of your life but for ------ her whole world crashes around her as she discovers her Ryan, husband kissing her best friend in the garden during their reception.
Reeling and hurt she doesn't confront them, she hides her cheating husbands passport and heads to the airport to escape on a solo honeymoon.
When Ryan arrives a few days later the lies and deceit follow. Their are some big secrets which come to life, twists and turns as their Honeymoon unravels which doesn't stop on their return home either.
I don't want to say anymore as with any thriller it would give the story away and I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone.
This is my first book by Gemma and I look forward to reading more from her.
Thank you NetGalley, Gemma Rogers and Boldwood for this ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.

Honeymoon???? More like Honeynigntmare! Kelly’ wedding day turns into a disaster when she witnesses her husband getting it on with his best friend’s wife.
There are some truly rotten characters in this story and they are abhorrent.
I felt like a tangled up sheet with all the twisted threads in this story.
Lying, cheating, backstabbing and betrayal are the prevalent themes.
Who can you trust???

Kelly and Ryan have just gotten married and at their wedding reception, Kelly sees Ryan kissing her best friend, Liza, whose husband, Bobby, is Ryan’s business partner. She is totally shattered and heads to their wedding suite. They are to head to Crete the next day for a 10-day honeymoon. But, Kelly packs her bag and leaves without Ryan determined to enjoy her time and when she gets back home, she will divorce him. She has it all figured out until a couple days later Ryan shows up and tells her that they are in financial trouble and she has to stay with him. Shocked, she doesn’t know what to say but the next day Liza and Bobby show up as a surprise and she is angered.

The days spent with Ryan, Bobby and Liza are stressful for Kelly as the men both drink too much. But things get really scary when on a couple of outings, it appears that someone wants to kill Kelly. Who is doing this and why?

None of these characters seemed to have much in the way of morals which made me laugh. In addition, after their return from the honeymoon, it’s as if Ryan became a person totally different from the man Kelly has known for 10 years. How can one be so blind to their partner for such a long time? I have read other books by this author that I enjoyed, however, I’m sorry to say this one was a disappointment.

Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book is a quick easy read, ideal for a holiday by the pool, with sunshine and a cold beer.
I had several books to choose from and looking at the opening pages I chose this one.
Great start and enjoyed the setting in Crete. One timeline and one POV from Kelly.
Intriguing and challenging predicament and plenty to wonder about and guess.
Quite a few things did not feel right though, like not really knowing her husband and friends of many years.
Kelly does not come across as clever or stupid but seems to be a poor judge of character and poor decision maker.
The story veers off course a bit and the latter half was not to my taste which was a real shame.
I was hoping for more depth and unexpected reveals but found it shallow and predictable.
Many thanks to the author, the amazing publisher and NetGalley UK for the ARC.
