I absolutely adore so many books that take place in Italy, and this has definitely been added to my list.
In Italy for Love paints the most gorgeous picture of Italy, and I just found myself becoming so immersed in the story due to the description of the setting. Our main characters Alex and Jules were very likeable, and I was really rooting for them.
I’m very excited to see what Leonie Mack releases next!
Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc. 🫶🏻
I read this book while I traveled to Italy at the end of October. Was the perfect read for my vacation. Beautiful.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a cozy, delightful book. I loved it so much!
A pretty decent escapist romance. Lots of flowing descriptions of Italy and small village life. Fun side characters and a lot of nosy neighbors. Story includes a cute cat and a dog. The ending was a little underwhelming after the story itself but it worked out ok.
This book was just okay for me. I didn't feel a strong connection to the characters and their building romance. It didn't seem very believable. I didn't want to finish it, but I'm glad that I hung on because the ending was more enjoyable. The last several chapters were really sweet and hopeful.
Thank you to Netgalley, Leonie Mack and Boldwood Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
In Italy For Love is a delight. The characters are lovable, the city is breathtaking and the plot is hilarious.! Leonie Mack puts her main character into an interesting situation that causes an epic rom-com meet cute! This romance has something for every reader to enjoy! I look forward to reading this physically and seeing it in stores.
I ended up DNFing at 30%. I just struggled to really get into the book and hadn’t really fallen in love with any of the characters. I did enjoy the writing style and overall concept of the plot, it just wasn’t for me. I would be interested in trying other books by this author though!
In Italy for Love by Leonie Mack was an amazing read!! If you like forced proximity, one night stand, roommates to lovers, damaged MCs, book that take place in Italy then you will love this book!!
Jules moved to Italy for her now ex-boyfriend and is trying to back to Australia. Due to issues with her passport and low funds, she’s stuck in Italy for a few more weeks. She gets a job on a farm in Cividale, in exchange for room and board. She meets Alex and they have a one night stand never expecting to see each other again. Only to run into each other on the farm where she now works.
Mack did such an amazing job with this story. I literally wanted to read this book because it takes place in Italy, my dream vacation. She did such a great job with the storyline and plot. The descriptions of the places in Italy the villages, the farms, and the countryside were amazing. I thought the characters of Alex and Jules were so well written along with her meddling family. I cannot recommend this book enough. I loved it!! Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.
Julia finds herself in the tatters of a whirlwind relationship that brought her to Italy. After it falls apart and she is without a valid passport, she finds herself (and her adorable dog) trying get as far away from her ex while staying in Italy to sort out her papers. Cue the small town of Cividale del Friuli on the border of Austria and Croatia. She bumps into a local with a slightly mysterious past, and what starts off as a friendly drink, ends in so much more.
I absolutely loved this book!! The characters were so lovable and flawed in the best way. The setting absolutely came to life in the writing, and I felt the urge to go and visit multiple times throughout reading the book. I love that it was deeper than a regular romance book, with so many layers to each character, as well as the sweetest cast of characters in the small town. (and I loved learning about Friulian culture too!)
It definitely felt drawn out in certain parts and started a little slow, but in general, this book was fantastic and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a deeper romance novel. I can't wait to read more of this author's work!

Goodness I loved this book! I love Italy but this is a region I was not aware of. I loved the characters, the storyline, the setting everything about it. A beautiful story ❤ I’ve not read this authors work before but look forward to reading more in the future.
I’m truly a little confused by this book. I wanted to love it. I really did but the writing felt choppy, the characters had little depth.
I loved that it took place in Italy and wanted more imagery for sure. When the author did describe the location, it was beautifully written!
I liked the side characters more than I liked the main ones and that’s because I felt they lacked depth in their growth. It kind of just happens and that’s that. We also didn’t even find out if Jules B&B sold. Like did that ever get taken care of?

A story in Italy? I have to read it! Leonie Mack writes very beautifully, I liked the book and I really enjoyed Alex & Jules.
The Italian vibes of the book were beautiful ❤️ felt like visiting Italy in one sitting!!! Extremely beautiful book
The romance between Julia and Alex was beautiful
The way Julia character develops is lovely💖💖✨
Definitely recommended!!
This book was an absolute joy to read.
The characters were fantastic, the setting of the story was brought to life beautifully, and the plot was engaging.... one moment you are laughing and the next you are swooning.
A delightful read

Overall, I liked this book. I liked the evolution of Jules, as she realizes she can do things without her ex, and to feel more confident in a new country.
I liked her relationship with Alex, and how it evolved from a random one off to something more.
I also loved all of the Italian family/culture vibes. That to me was so well done.
Leonie Mack always writes such beautifully descriptive settings and this story had an absolute stunning one.
I was instantly whisked off to gorgeous Italy in the autumn, I really enjoyed the rural scenes she created when Jules finds herself working on a farm, helping with the olive harvest.
Jules is running away from a doomed relationship that saw her left in a country far from home. She comes across Alex, who also was struggling with lost love and together they begin to connect and share their stories.
It was brilliant to see their connection grow and how they supported each other, overcoming their past relationships and to become friends and more.
Jules really needed an opportunity to sort her life out and Alex gave her that chance, and she lifted his spirits too, allowing him to move on from his tragic past.
This was a charming and heartwarming story that warmed my heart as I read, just like the Italian sunshine in the story does. ☀️
Loved this story about Alex and Jules surviving grief and starting over with nothing. Everyone needs a Berengario and Maddalena in their lives! I enjoyed their escapades as much as the main characters and had some LOL moments! Throw in the nosy neighbors and it was truly a delight! If you want a book that makes you want to go to Italy immediately, this is it!
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
I'm a big fan of Leonie Mack. I find her books romantic (without being sloppy) and hilarious. She is the master of witty banter, and her characters are never the same.
The One night stand trope usually doesn't work for me, but here I didn't mind it. This is not her best book from the Italy series, but I binge read it anyway.
What a fun read! The characters and the plot were fresh, exciting and relatable. Exactly what I needed!
I really enjoyed this story and will most definitely be ordering more books from this author. Set in idyllic sounding Italy, delicious sounding food and likeable characters. A lovely heartwarming story. Thank you netgalley for an advanced copy of this book.
