ive never read about this part in history before. i love hisotrical fiction so i thought id give it a go. and wait one moment because what have i been missing!?
having gone on to read the background of the author ( again how have i missed her) and what she did and didnt do in life with lots of gumption and bravery. to settle and write books for us. well . we are privileged. this lady has spent her life helping others. and doing so with great passion and risk. and finally for her she managed to become a debut author. i hope she settled to something she loves, she deserves a reward or two! and at 73 she published her first novel. wow how much hope does that give of life, its twist and turns and finding your love for writing or vocation at any age. i think Lady Cecil story needs a book...
this book was full of bravery and intrigue. it told facts alongside human stories. it showed the happenings of the time alongside how they might have been felt for people of the time. those that took risks. those that caused pain. those that didnt know whether or how to stay quiet in the moments of such dangers.
and love stories. we always must have love right?
