What a fun book with such great chemistry between the characters! I didn't think this was as funny as the description had led me to believe but it is heartwarming and somewhat relatable.

4.25, rounded up because I'm nice like that. I liked this a lot - the mystery elements were fun, I like a main lady lawyer character, I would move to Vermont for this town. I do think this is more "lawyer mystery with a side of obviously needed breakup and then romance" than an actual romance novel, and I would have liked it if there was more development of the Sam/Kate relationship.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I cannot condone stories that feature emotional infidelity, stringing along a mmc for 75% of the novel, and overall selfish and horrible actions by a leading FMC. I cannot root for the FMC because she was a terrible person through the majority of the novel. The "romance" was miniscule with who she ended up with and he was about as flat and static of a character as you can get. The guy she rejected had more depth. I hate rating books like this low, but this is truly one of the worst books I've read this year.

This is not a fun, light, or even romantic holiday book and the cover does not fit with the contents of the book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

The enemies-to-lovers trope is not my favorite literary device, but the description caught my interest with words like “feel good…heart-warming…and truly laugh out loud.” Unfortunately, the publicist’s viewpoint in choosing those descriptors did not match my experience of this book.

Reeling from her accidental acceptance of a surprise marriage proposal, Kate Hunter is sent from her London home to a charming town in Vermont to fulfill some unusual requirements of a will crafted by the late founder of her law firm. To evaluate the final settlement of an estate, Kate is required to spend six weeks living in the town and acquainting herself with the employees of the company in question. Here she encounters – literally by accident – Sam Langston and must share a home will him.

Some of the pranks and demands made by the protagonists (especially Sam) seemed downright mean-spirited. Kate was thrown into jail, alternately pushed around by her fiancée and her overbearing mother, and then threatened with physical harm by an out-of-control, greedy woman. She, in turn, attempted to settle the score with her own forms of revenge until, of course, their mutual attraction begins to shift the dynamic. All this wrapped up in a charming Vermont town with many kind-hearted residents in the season leading up to Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years did not add up to a lively rom-com. I did enjoy the levity injected into the storyline by Kate’s relationship with her father and their exchange of witty text messages.

Overall, the book kept me engaged, but it was not the book I was hoping to read from the afore-mentioned description.

My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I read this book an as ARC and although it isn't my typical read, I surprisingly enjoyed it. It was a great break from my usual reads and a very heart warming story. It had all the great aspects of drama both personally and professionally to keep me interested and the enemies to lovers trope is always an enjoyable read for me. It also gave an empowering story of a woman who's living her life for everyone but herself and finding herself along the way.

This is a sweet romance about a cute couple…interfering mom…a stand by you father…friends who are supportive…this story moves quickly with realistic characters. Curl up and enjoy a visit with this family and their friends…and don’t forget the couple…enjoy . Thanks Netgalley.

“Snow Going Back” is a romance book by Emma Tallon. This book follows British Kate, who is a lawyer. She accidentally gets engaged to her boyfriend Lance and literally the same day they get engaged, she flies off to the US to work on a corporate case. While in the US, she lives in a house with Sam - the nephew of the person whose case she’s working on. Her first meeting with Sam isn’t the smoothest - but over time they discover that each other isn’t all that bad after all. I think this was a cute book - and the “meet cute” was different. I am not a fan of the misunderstanding trope (which happened big time in this book), but overall this book was sweet. I found the pacing to be a bit off in places, but overall this book held my attention and was a good escapism read.

What a precious love story!!! I just fell in love with the characters from the very beginning. It was so sweet. I adored the main characters.

This had the plummy British tones of a Bridget Jones-esque novel. I loved the enemies to lovers, especially when it's less of a meet cute! I found the beginning was quite lengthy but overall a good read.
