So I want to start out by saying this is a super cute book I think it's perfect not just for kids not just for adults but for both of them together I personally found that this was such a good cookbook to use for fun relationship building between any adult or any teenager and a child My son and I made a couple different recipes using this book All of them were very delicious but also we just had so much fun because we were connecting over something that we both enjoyed he loves squishmallows This is one of his favorite things right now I love cooking so we were able to combine the two things that we both love and do something together to build a really amazing memory I definitely recommend this
My household is full of Squishmallows and sweets. I love combining the two! We've already made Cam's three-colour dough cookies and they were easy and fun to make! I went with a simple recipe first because my daughter wanted to help and she had so much fun! I can't wait to make more of these sweet treats with and without my daughter!
This baking book is absolutely adorable! I love the inclusion of illustrations of the squishmallows with real life photos of the different baked goods. The baked goods look amazing and I can’t wait to try out some of these recipes! This cookbook will definitely make your face smile and your belly hungry!
This book is an absolute treasure and would make a lovely gift for children and grown ups alike. A practical book that's just as pleasing to browse as it is to use.
It is beautifully illustrated and each recipe is assigned to a different squishmellow character. Each recipe is introduced by a paragraph about the character and recipe which is so engaging for children.
Recipes are clear with ingredients list and staged instructions. Ingredients are readily available and appear repeatedly throughout the book so are likely to be used again, not just sat in the cupboard.
I love that there's a bit of everything in this book! From pancakes, cookies and savoury snacks to all out show stoppers!
The only thing I'd like to see would be approximate calories per portion. In a health conscious world, and with some of the recipes being very rich in ingredients, it would be very helpful to the reader.
This was a really fun cookbook for my squish loving kid. Some of the recipes lacked a depth of flavor but overall a fun book for baking with kids
I have no idea what a "squishmallow" is, but I have a student who is obsessed with them, so I thought I would take a look at this cookbook. (For those who were as confused as I am, think of them as giant versions of Beanie Babies or Cabbage Patch dolls, with the concomitant fans. This from the company website: "Debuting in 2017, the iconic Squishmallows brand features collectible plush with lovable personalities, a whimsical design, and ultrasoft feel. In more than 55 countries, the strong brand equity and popularity have resulted in multiple line extensions and cross-category collaborations.")
It seems like these stuffed animals would appeal to elementary aged children, so I was surprised at how complicated the recipes were. They were clearly written by British bakers, because the measurements are not in cups but rather in ounces, and they call for caster sugar and cornflour instead of cornstarch. While the US measurements and terms are given, it still makes looking at the ingredient list more work.
There are some recipes that would be doable with children, like chocolate chip cookie cups and some quick breads, but there are also meringues and macarons, which seem a bit complicated. There are also ingredients that I personally consider rather posh, like almond flour and whole milk.
This is beautifully formatted, and each recipes is introduced by a squishmallow (they have names). It's bright and cheery, with excellent photos of the baked goods and drinks. This would be a good book for a doting grandmother who is enamoured of The Great British Baking Show and has also been bank rolling a menagerie of squishmallows, and wants to spend quality time whipping eggs and using a double boiler with a grandchild.
Thank you Quarto Publishing Group- White Lion and NetGalley for the e-ARC of the book.
Our household is full of Squishmallow fans, so I was really excited about this book. This book contains recipes for different occasions and seasons, various difficulties and definitely should please every taste bud. I like that the ingredients were listed both in grams and ounces as well as some ingredients had variations depending in which part of the pond you are.
This book is not only fun to look through because of its colorful illustrations, but also fun to follow the recipe for yummy result.
Adorable cook book. Visually very pleasing and cute. All of the "bakes" have pictures, which is great, but there are no pictures of the "baking extras" or "drinks" which is a bummer. Some squishmallows have a very cute connection to the recipe, though there are some that would seem to be better matched with other recipes.
Would be an adorable gift paired with a squishmallow!
Thank you netgalley and publisher for a review ecopy!
The recipes and photos in this cookbook are amazing and I know my kids would be obsessed. It is helpful that some of the measurements were given in ounced and cups; this would help a broader marker. Most of the Squishmallow-baked good pairings made sense, but I still keep thinking about how there's a cinnamon roll recipe, but it wasn't matched with the cinnamon roll Squishmallow. Adding some drink options at the end is an added bonus!

This is a very cute, creative, short cookbook with some strange combinations as well as fan favorites. The perfect cookbook for all squishmallows fans! I thank Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review this cookbook.
Look, this is just super cute. Everything Squishmallows is adorable, but this book is on top. The recipes are easy to follow and delicious.
A really fun and unique book full of recipes for avid bakers and those just beginning. The caramel, apple and blueberry muffins are definitely on my list to make next!
Love love love this going to have so much fun making some of these delicious treats with my family. We love squishmallows and we will love the treats too!! What an amazing idea.
This is a bright and colourful cookbook and ideal for using with children or for baking for children’s events.
Each squishmallow has their own bake whether that be a cupcake, cinnamon bun or a cheesy scone. There are also themed bakes for Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
The ingredients list is concise and easy to read. The recipes are simple and easy to folllow. Although I would say children would need an adult with them to help.
Included recipes for cupcakes, cakes, biscuits, sweet loafs and pastries, cheesecakes, whoopie pies you will never be stuck for something to bake! There are even a few recipes for drinks at the end!
I am disappointed in this book. I am not the greatest baker so I lean towards kids books for recipes, expecting them to be easy to make. These are not easy recipes. The graphics are cute though & if you’re comfortable baking I’m sure the recipes turn out good.
If you and/or your kids love Squishmallows and baking, then this book is for you. It's filled with mouthwatering recipes and the illustrations are visually very pleasing. So colourful and vibrant. I'm not sure that all options are easy to make, and not all ingredients might be easily accessible depending on where you live, but these recipes are sure to open your appetite.
The Squishmallows Baking Book is an absolute delight! It’s a fun and colorful recipe book filled with a variety of tasty bakes that are sure to inspire creativity in the kitchen. The vibrant design and adorable Squishmallows-themed treats make it a joy to flip through. I love how many different recipes there are, and I can't wait to try them out. A perfect book for anyone who enjoys baking with a playful twist!
This is such an adorable cookbook. The recipes are fun and unique. Each recipe is associated with its own Squishmallow (like Melina’s peanut butter cookies or Manny’s gingerbread houses). It’s quite the clever marketing strategy, albeit unnecessary, because it appeals to both adults and children alike. However, children would need quite a bit of help with these recipes because they are far too advanced (and possibly even dangerous) for most kids, with steps like separating eggs, boiling water, and using a food processor. Another thing I’d like to mention is that, if you’re an American like me, you will need a kitchen scale for these recipes, as most of the ingredients are in grams.
Wow, this has got to be the cutest cookbook I’ve ever seen! The illustrations are not only beautiful and cute, they are very simple to follow. The written instructions are clear, concise and straightforward. The recipe ideas are delicious and well varied - there's plenty in here for everyone, no matter what your favourite treats are. Not only is this cookbook a joy to look at, I found it a joy to use in my kitchen. Would recommend wholeheartedly!

This is such an adorable cookbook! Perfect for anyone who loves baking and squishmallows. Each recipe is matched with a squishmallow, like Elizabeth's unicorn cake or Angie's peanut butter brownies. The recipes look so yummy and well done. I cannot wait to try some!
