This is an interesting, if somewhat muddled SF novel where a commander and her crew are accidentally sucked into a wormhole and end up 300 years into the future. The humanoid beings there wake her up, but are unable to wake her crew safely. She spends some time on their beautiful planet as they try to work out what went wrong, and to find a way back for her and the crew, and she learns their ways: how they love in harmony with the ecosphere, the use of meditation and energy for various things, and so on. She even manages to fall in love.

There are many interesting ideas here—and particularly vivid descriptions of a gorgeous-sounding world—and I found all of that quite engaging. There are however several plot lines that go nowhere, and a deus ex machina resolution of the central problem, which is additionally rushed. There were long passages of telling, mostly about meditation and about these future beings’ philosophy, but also the actions and thoughts of the characters, which I didn't enjoy. The dialogue could also be repetitive and rather staccato sometimes.

In summary: an interesting novel of ideas with a fun idea of what an evolved and healthier Earth might be like, but it suffered a bit from being overwritten and needing to be tightened up.
