Let me tell you I was nervous going into this book because of how thick it was, but let me tell you IT WAS SO WORTH IT! I absolutely loved this book. Stefanie wrote this book in a way that you feel transported to the world she has created, and it is so good. The banter, mystery, tension, paranormal aspects make you truly become so invested in where this story was going! I love that not only did we have the main story line between Alaric and Winnifred, but we also have the story line of the book group/ coven solving m-urders that take place in the town and it's soo good. This is my first time reading Stephanie Holmes' work and let me tell you it will not be the last! I now plan to work through her backlog of books! I need something to fill the void why I wait for the next book in this series because that clip hanger was brutal! As always, read trigger warnings and trust me when I say this should definitely be added to your fall tbr!

Ok how adorable is this title and the description of this book? But omg why is it almost 600 pages? I cannot commit. I have commitment issues.

I absolutely loved everything about this book! The atmosphere, the cozy vibes, the friend group, the settings. All with a great blend of hot vampire. I just didn't want to put it down and I'm super sad that book 2 isn't out because I wasn't ready to leave these characters. I will definitely be checking out the authors back list while I wait for book 2! Definitely a must read.

3/5 stars!!

Cute romance with light political intrigue complete with a brooding vampire and organization obsessed love interest!

The plot revolves around the sparks between Lord Alaric Valerian, a reclusive vampire who desperately needs help organizing his castle for a an upcoming ball his mother is throwing, and Winnie Preston, Clutter Queen, creator of the Winnie WINS system, and the way Alaric is going to get the castle ready for this ball he really doesn’t want to have.

Some things I didn’t really enjoy about this book were:

- The sheer amount of side characters with lore that would randomly pop up. This could be because I didn’t read the prequel series about Mina, but if it’s a standalone I shouldn’t have to. I get it was supposed to be found family but they were also just sometimes annoying.
- The sleuthing felt pointless. The book club hunted (kind of but not really) and found the murderer for a good chunk of the book just for there to be another murder, so it felt almost useless.
- Random lore that didn’t get explained/ ended somewhat abruptly. Dora and her husband, Celeste acting strange after the last murder, and Alaric attacking patrick in the second chapter but also never bringing it up again. And then Arabella’s whole plot line with Gideon Blake coming out of nowhere on the last page. I just didn’t feel like this story was wrapped up, and I know it’s a series but I have questions.

However, this book was cute and interesting and something I hadn’t encountered before. I just had higher hopes going into it. Overall, I’d recommend the book for a quick and easy read but be ready to need the next book for actual answers.

I'm not usually one for a vampire romance but this one was so cute! Alaric is charming, as one would expect from a centuries-old vampire, but also adorably naive about the modern world. And Winnie is a woman who wants to step away from her past and just be loved.
I would be open to reading further books set in this universe.

Enjoyed this different style of vampire book for me. The duel pov works perfectly and I really enjoyed the ‘modern’ feel to it.
I found it an enjoyable read and would recommend!!

✨ “I know it’s hard for you to let me see you being weak,” he murmurs. “You have always had to be so strong. You’re the one who cleans up everyone’s mess, so you never get to be a mess yourself. Well, I want to love you whether you are a quiet day or a raging hurricane. I want you to fall apart for me so I can love every piece of you. Give me your wounds, Winnie, and I will bleed for you.” ✨

When clutter queen Winnie faces heartbreak from her boyfriend and best friend, she retreats to the cozy town of Argleton to declutter the reclusive Lord Valerian's castle. But what begins as a simple task spirals into a thrilling murder mystery with a quirky book club—and an unexpected connection to the enigmatic lord.

This book was exactly what I needed at the moment. I’ve been in such a slump the last couple weeks but this book has brought me out of it.

It’s such a fun, cozy and fast paced story. All the characters are well established and really draw you in. I hope each one of the book club girls get a book of their own.

I liked that trauma and dealing with it in healthy ways was spoke on a lot. I went into this book thinking it would just be a quick, quirky book but it touched on things I’ve not really seen before in books, such as hoarders and the trauma that not only the hoarder faces but those around them do. Being in Winnie’s head and seeing how she processed things was done very tastefully.

Overall this was a lovely book, filled with fun, loveable characters that I cannot wait to read more about

I loved the humor in the story, I laughed so much mostly at the beginning that when Winnie was being driven up to the castle I had to put down the book for a second to compose myself. That is a delight to find in a book.

The friendships on both sides of the main characters are exceptional. How everyone was involved in helping in the end. Each of the members of the book club seemed very unique and I enjoyed their dynamic a lot. While for Gideon and Reginald,

I loved how they manage to understand each other's quirks and feelings, figuring out the roots of them and giving them the importance they need. The healing aspect of the story is very well made and it has so much depth than I thought at the beginning. I was in for a fun and cute vampire story but this was so much more.

It seemed to me that Callista accepted their plan a bit too easily. I know she was getting something out of it but still until that point she seemed heartless and ruthless so I thought that it would have been more in character to oppose their happiness just to get things done the way she wanted them. So It was surprising to see her go along with the plan but mostly to see that she cared for Alaric.

Very excited for book two! There are some secrets overall in the book club to unfold so eager to see what comes next.

This was such a cute and charming vampire romance. Winnie had so many more layers to her character than I was expecting. I am not used to romantasy novels of this style having more than a generic HEA storyline so the extra trauma and layers worked for me. I give Fangs for Nothing a solid 4/5 stars, and I will add this author to my favorites list.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bacchanalia House for the opportunity to review Fangs For Nothing by Steffanie Holmes

One scorchingly hot (and oblivious) vampire, and a professional organiser with demons of her own.

This was a perfect read for this time of year, with a murder to solve, a castle to clean and a cast of bizarre and unique characters making up "The Nevermore Murder Club & Slutty Book Coven".

Fangs for nothing is a supernatural romance that had my heart wrenching.
I absolutely loved Winnie and Alaric! They were adorable from the start and the chemistry between them was chefs kiss!
The little book club they had is adorable and reminds me of my bookish friends when we all get together in the way they chat and gossip.
The whole murder mystery aspect was really good and made the plot so interesting!
This is one of my faves books of 2024!!

KICKING MY FEET.
'I may be a hot mess but at least I'm a fun hot mess' Winnie is so relatable it had me in stitches.
I was enraptured by Alaric early on. This book had me swooning, I adored the Nevermore murder club and smutty book coven. The friendships built are amazing and it made me sad to think they won't have the friendships for all eternity. I am intrigued to see more of these characters lives. The relationship between Winnie and Alaric I really enjoyed. Winnies shock to obvious findings were hilarious! Toes curling fluff, I really enjoyed this book my only criticism is Winnie being too forgiving.

I am in love with this book. Steffanie Holmes crafted a world that pulled me in from the very first page. Following Winnie and Alric’s journey was an absolute adventure. I was especially captivated by how she portrayed Alric, our main male lead—his struggles, fears, and desires were so deeply felt.

Winnie’s thoughts and fears were written with such depth that her trauma practically jumped off the page, making me feel as though I was right there with her. It brought so much clarity to why Winnie is the way she is, adding layers to her character.

This book has it all: love, spice, murder, mystery, and suspense, all wrapped up in a beautifully written story. The quirky book club is honestly the cherry on top—I adored the group of women and their hilarious antics through text. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this series!

This is like Marie Condo organizing meets Twilight.
Winnie is an organizing queen with her Winnie WINS system. Fueled by her own trauma from living with a mother who suffers from a hoarding compulsion, she has set made a name for herself helping other keep a tidy, organized life and maintain it even after she’s left her clients. But Winnie still has nightmares and triggers when it comes to her mothers hoarding so when she gets hired to clean up a vampire’s castle, she’s going to be sorting through more than just materialistic objects. Especially when her feelings get involved. Then comes a fake proposal between Winnie and Alaric that makes for a slow burn steamy tension fueled romance and I ate it up in one sitting! And I mean juicy, blood pumping, spicy scenes. Elegant, yet reclusive, Alaric has many hobbies that have piled up in his castle. Stuck in his traditional ways, Winnie helps break down his walls and teach him that being vulnerable is okay, even when she struggles to practice what she preaches emotionally. The way he cares and protects Winnie had me melting. At first I was put off by his old fashioned ways of talking and habits but it easily grew on me as part of his charm. It was like teaching Dracula to participate in a modern world with his resistance but I love a challenge. The way Winnie goes about her cleaning system reminded me a lot of the Marie Condo system and the traditional laws of the Umpyr reminded me of twilight… well kind of. There were moments where I thought back to twilight. The side characters were also fun and brought a lot of world building when it came to this story. I absolutely adored the Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven group. Each member brought their own supernatural/paranormal touch to the story, and the town itself just screams Halloweentown. Don’t even get me started on precious Reginald, if a best friend award were to be presented, it should be to him. Even though he’s just Alaric’s butler of sorts, that man goes above and beyond not just for Alaric but Winnie as well( also officially putting in a request for the recipe to his delicious hot chocolate please!). I have no negatives on this book other than I don’t like Claire at all and I think she was forgiven way too easily. This ends in a cliffhanger and I wasn’t aware it was a series so now I have to read the rest of the books. I’m dying to dive into Mina’s story with her book boyfriends!

I really liked this book. It's perfect for this time of year. There are many references to books, which was wonderful. I'm just not going to give it 5 stars because the romance was very fast, as the book is long it could have been a slow burn. I'm very curious about the next book in the series. I want a book for each Bookclub character

Raise your hand if you knew this was a spin off to another book. Because I didn’t! In all fairness its my own fault I saw this book on NetGalley and thought this book sounds right up my alley let’s give it a go. Now I did overall enjoy the story however it wasn’t perfect and there were multiple times I was really confused because I didn’t read the other book in the series. After finishing it I think you can read it without the other but just know you may be slightly confused at times.

Pros:

The Romance: I highly enjoyed the romance between Alaric and Winnie felt very realistic (or as realistic as it can be between a vampire and a human). They were both imperfect and had their own demons to overcome and watching them do that together was a lot of fun. Alaric is a grumpy overprotective golden retriever and Winnie is our sunshine cinnamon roll. Two of my favorite character tropes.

The Tropes: Literally all my favorite tropes were used in this book. We have one bed, found family, and fake dating. I honestly think my favorite one used in this book was the Found Family. After learning Alaric & Winnie’s backstory you can’t help but cheer for them to find a family. Seeing them find that in not only each other but with the Nevermore Murder Club was refreshing.

Now on to, The Cons:

The Characters: I don’t know about everyone else but have you ever read a book with too many people in it. That would be this book. Like don’t get me wrong I love a good side character. But for me, there were simply too many characters. There were multiple times I had to look back and be like wait who are you and why do I care. Making it extremely hard to tell them apart. I definitely feel like a good chunk of them could have been cut out since they weren’t essential to the story.

The Unnecessary Drama: My biggest issue with this category stems from two parts. First the Patrick & Claire angle. The cheating scandal honestly did not need to be in this book. Winnie already had her own trauma from her upbringing she also didn’t need this thrown in. To make matters worse to see them in the town she’s working and having to face them in person also unnecessary. And to top it off for Winnie to forgive Claire at the end. Like ma’am are you for real. Your best friend had an affair with your fiancé absolutely no. Like Winnie I need you to grow a back bone and not let toxic people back into your life. The second part has to deal with the Midnight Court Princess, which for the life of me I can’t remember her name right now. But her portion in all of this was also completely unnecessary.

In conclusion, I enjoyed the book. It’s not my favorite book of the year but it did make for a fun cozy fall read. If you’re looking for book that has a little bit of everything I definitely recommend.

I gave it 4.5 start. It was brilliant! I actually found myself laughing out loud a few times. I wish I had a group of friends like the ones in the book, vampires and all. I will be definitely reading this series.

Winnie is the queen of clean, Alaric is a 500 year old hoarder vampire. And here starts a love story....

While I enjoyed the story it could have done with being a good 50 pages (at a minimum) shorter & we wouldn't have lost anything except repetitive internal monologues.

The ending was a bit all over the place too and didn't hold my attention.

I loved the book/murder club characters though and I really want to know more about them so I hope the series follows them rather than focusing on Winnie & Alaric.
