I wanted to like this book. The cover and title alone piqued my interest. I however was not impressed with the story.

I will try to read it again, in print. I am not a fan of this audible.

This book has all the Fall Feels that I needed to start the season. I listened to the audiobook of A Not So Fictional Fall and loved it. I loved listening to the MMC with his cute French accent. I loved the story and how they met. The setting was great and added to the Fall Vibes I want and need. I am ready for a trip to North Carolina now!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this advanced audio copy of A Not So Fictional Fall, in exchange for an honest review.

This book by Savannah Scott was an absolute delight to listen to that I did it want to end!! Tasha and Pierre are have adorable chemistry, dialogue, and charm and I just want to be best friends with them 😁. I love how the book progressed through their friendship to fake marriage to real feelings! I would recommend for any lover of romance, especially someone looking for just a sweet, sweet story!!!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this book!!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!

What a great romcom!! This is a first for me by this author but will not be my last. It was such a cute story! The writing style is great and I loved the characters chemistry. Great add on to the Sweater Weather series!!

This was absolutely adorable. Tasha and Pierre are sweet, awkward and utterly perfect. I loved the autumn obsessed, protective sister and flirty best friend vibes too.

I haven’t read the other books in the series and only picked this one up cause I was fascinated by the premise- using tropes so openly, literally talking about them, and creating a device as a part of the narrative to engage those tropes is just such a creative way to change the vibe whilst keeping things cosy and light.

Beautiful.

*****Update***** I jumped at the chance to listen to the audiobook that just released and I absolutely LOVED it!!! This book is one of my favorites and the audiobook just added another fun layer to the love I have for it! The narrators were so fun and brought these two characters to life. Seriously Happy Sigh to the extreme!!! If you think I'm gushing, you'd be spot on because I am!!! There are just books that make you so incredibly happy and this is one of those books for me!!! It's a go-to-read-again!!! Grab it, or the audiobook and be ready to be grinning from ear to ear. These characters are just the bee's knees!!!
I received a copy of the audiobook from the publisher, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op, via NetGalley. But I've purchased my own copies.
*****Everything below in the review is still 100% relevant and still my thoughts after listening to the audiobook!!! *****

This book!!! Definitely a reread for me! I loved it so much! So many great characters. I want the author to write stories for all of them! Rene, Heather, Bob, Stuart, the Bookstagrammers, the sisters! ALLLLLLLL OF THEM please Miss Scott! You would make many fans very, very happy! Just sayin'!!! ;-)

Tasha and Pierre were fabulous on their own but put them together and magic happened! Holy Cow!!!! I loved them so much! The mix ups that happened, the long talks, the proposals, the wedding, the family, the honeymoon morning (remember this is a marriage of convenience so no shenanigans), the friendships, the laughs, the longing glances, the lingering touches, the swooniness!!!! Seriously, alllll of it was so much fun! Savannah Scott nailed writing a marriage of convenience trope!

And can I just mention all of the funny American and French slang used throughout this book?! Tasha saying something and confusing Pierre and needing to explain it. And vice versa for Pierre needing to explain his slang or incorrect use of American slang. Wet Chicken anyone? Hahahaha!!!

I've recommended this book to so many of my IRL friends and can't wait for them to dive into it so we can talk and laugh about it! I love the joy that comes from reading books with friends and being able to discuss them! Just like Tasha and her Bookstagram friends!

Oh, stop reading my review and go grab a copy of this perfect Sweater Weather book and read it!!! Don't forget the sweater, comfy blanket, hot cocoa and sitting outside or next to a window watching the fall leaves!

Content: There are some mild innuendos, some sweet kisses but nothing further. This is a book about marriage of convenience so there is a scene where the couple is forced into the same bed for a short moment, but it was kept very mild. I would consider this a clean read but would suggest for older readers.

I received a copy from the publisher, Victory Editing NetGalley co-op, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

bkboz;hyphyupww…this is the result of trying to type in a liquified state because I’ve swooned myself into an epic romantical meltdown and I’m not sure if my bones will solidify any time soon.

Because….THIS BOOK!!!!! Pierre!!! This book and Pierre and a rabid romance fiction fan and A MODERN DAY MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE. I can’t even…excuse me while I get my swoons out. Again.

Okay, I’ll try to be coherent now. If you’re looking for sweet perfection in a rom/com, ‘A Not So Fictional Fall’ is the way to go. I mean, even the title is creatively brilliant and teases at the scrumptious nuances of the story inside. From the delightfully awkward meet-cute to the the way the marriage of convenience comes about — happy, happy sigh….I have no words.

Well, maybe a few. Funny. Heartwarming. Compelling. The kind of book you want to race through but force yourself to hang back and savor every delicious moment. Excellent pacing — love the way the romance gradually develops between Pierre and Tasha. So many swoonworthy moments and when we get to those toe-curling kisses, well, my toes may be permanently crimped.

And, as if the storytelling wasn’t enough to captivate me, the dual narration of the audio book sent my bibliophile heart soaring ever higher! Amanda Friday and Tyler Hyrchuk gave brilliant performances. The way they brought every facet of Pierre and Tasha to life — from the teasing moments to the introspective ones, not to mention the sarcastically funny ones. Made for an incredibly entertaining ‘read’. Highly, highly recommend the audio edition of this book.

My thanks to the author and Net Galley for providing me with an audio edition of this book.

A Not So Fictional Fall is the sixth closed-door romantic comedy in Sweater Weather, a connected series by various authors; each book can be read as a stand-alone. The audiobook features dual narration.
Tasha Pierson is an audiobook narrator and author assistant living in Asheville, North Carolina. Her older sister, Heather, is her best friend. Heather is the manager of the Cataloochee Coffee Shop in Harvest Hollow, North Carolina, which is the setting for the Sweater Weather series. Tasha is meeting four fellow Bookstagrammers at a writer’s conference off the coast of California, where Tasha’s favorite romance author, Amelie De Pierre, will be the featured guest.
Frenchman Pierre Toussaint has written 22 romance novels under the pen name Amelie De Pierre. His publicist has decide that he should reveal his true identity at a writer’s conference in California, kicking off his latest book tour. Pierre has just told his family and best friend, Rene, about his secret identity. He is staying in Harvest Hollow, North Carolina for a year so he can enjoy different scenery while he plots his latest book. Pierre is very introverted and lives a quiet solitary existence. He is not interested in a romantic relationship since being dumped by his girlfriend, Camilla, years earlier.
Tasha is thrilled to meet her bookish friends in person and flabbergasted when she discovers that her favorite romance author is the extremely handsome man she met in the hotel elevator. Tasha and Pierre hit it off, especially after she rescues him from overzealous female admirers. Her group of five bookstagrammers and Pierre socialize together, going out to eat and dancing. Both Tasha and Pierre are surprised when pictures of them are published online.
A few weeks after returning to North Carolina, Tasha is surprised when Pierre’s agent contacts her to request a secret meeting. It turns out that they discovered Pierre had the wrong kind of visa when he was making arrangements to travel to Canada. So the best option to keep Pierre in the US is for him to get married. Pierre offers to pay Tasha $250,000 for a two-year marriage, and she is tempted because she has student loans and wants to help finance her sister’s purchase of the coffee shop.
I love a good marriage of convenience story, particularly when the main characters are attracted to each other. Neither Tasha nor Pierre have any major flaws, so there is little angst in this story. A Not So Fictional Fall is a funny dream-come-true romance with behind-the-scenes views of an author’s life. I enjoyed the many French phrases sprinkled throughout the book and the overall niceness of the characters. This is a great addition to the Sweater Weather series, and I will definitely be reading more books by this author.
The audiobook is narrated by Amanda Friday and Tyler Hyrchuk, with all of the female characters portrayed by Friday and the male characters by Hyrchuk. Hyrchuk does an exceptional job speaking with a French accent for all of Rene and Pierre’s parts. I award 5+ stars to the male narrator and 4 stars to the female narrator, with an overall rating of 5stars.

I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Victory Editing Co-op for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the second book I have listened to in the Sweater Weather Series and I absolutely LOVED it. Amanda Friday and Tyler Hyrchuk narrated this audiobook and they were fantastic!! I couldn't stop listening to them tell this story. Tyler's accent was so swoon worthy and I could listen to him talk all day! I also loved that this was a duet narration. This was such a fun marriage of convenience story. Pierre and Tasha were just a match made in heaven and they had no idea what they were in for. I had so many laugh out loud moments. I was swooning like crazy and smiled so much throughout this book. I felt like the story and all the characters were well written and enjoyable. If your looking for the perfect fall weather book then grab this audiobook NOW!! You will not be disappointed. You will be smiling until the end. I would highly recommend this book.

Savannah Scott, how do you do it every single time. I read this book when it came out, but hearing it read to me was even better. Tasha and Pierre are so swoony, and it's just such a great book. The audio of this is fantastic and I think everyone would love it!

Thank you Netgalley for an arc of A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah Scott

This is a cute, sweet rom-com with some great fall time vibes. I love the marriage of convenience trope, but this one falls a little flat for me as the connection between the FMC & MMC isn’t strong at the onset and their reasons for agreeing to the fake marriage don’t feel well thought out.

The narration is excellent and the MMC’s French accent is great!

This was a good time romance read! If you're looking for a romance where you want every detail to be believable and reasonable, look elsewhere, but if you want a fun fall slow burn romance - pick this up ASAP!

I was so grateful to receive an audio ARC of A Not So Fictional Fall, and I had a great time. The narration was captivating and fun. I have no idea if the french accent was accurate or authentic, but it certainly sounded great to me!

A devoted fan of romance novelist Amelie De Pierre, Tasha is thrilled to meet her idol. She’s shocked to learn that Amelie the pseudonym of a man named Pierre, handsome and charming with a captivating French accent. Their meeting ignites a spark, and to her shock, his agent proposes that Tasha and Pierre unite in a green card marriage. Can this be the start of a real-life happily ever after, or is it just a fantastical dream?

This is a sugary sweet, low-conflict rom com. It’s plot driven without much character development. I enjoyed the audiobook narration.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Oh, how much I adore both Savannah Scott, and the Sweater Weather series!

I’m a huge Savannah Scott fan, and this series (Sweater Weather), by multiple authors - it is so incredibly amazing! All of the authors involved are “sweet and swoony,” aka clean or closed door romance writers. I read all but this book last year when they released… I was saving it because I didn’t want it to end. I know a couple wrote spin-offs, including a sequel to this story, which I did already read, and gave myself a few spoilers - but I’m also glad I waited, because then I got to experience it in audio like the rest of the series.

I loved the idea of the fan-girl meeting her favorite romance writer at a book convention, with her Booksta-besties, just to discover, in a very messy meet-cute, that “she’s” the very hot French Professor she was eyeing in the lobby earlier … how appropriate for a Booksta reviewer, who would love nothing more than for this to be reality, to be reviewing the audio of one of her faves books with this storyline (sorry, Patty, I know you’re a woman! 😂).

The plot is going to be hard to beat - Tasha meets her favourite author, Amelie de Pierre, to discover she is Pierre Toussaint, the hot guy from the lobby where the book convention is happening, but she missed the big reveal because her friends were having some crisis or another… after he helps pick up the books she dropped when she’s getting over her shock, they share a special moment, and later when they discover more in common a crazy plan is hatched by his team, and suddenly they find themselves in a green card marriage. A whirlwind if ever there was one, it’s just such a fun storyline.

One of my top Scott reads, and even better having waited for the audio release… yes, even with the spoilers from the second book, about our main character’s sister meeting our other main character’s best friend! This sat in my KU library a long time waiting for this audio release to come!

The audio was excellent, narrated by Amanda Friday, and Tyler Hyrchuk. He did both a great American and a good French accent, when voicing Pierre. Both new to me, and both gave a great performance. Definitely get the audiobook for this one!

This is such a fun, very flirty romcom if ever there was one. If you’ve read any of the Sweater Weather books you’ll find so many mentions of locations and characters that will be familiar. I love series done like this! I absolutely recommend this one, and the entire Sweater Weather series - great for the fall! The follow up book (Valentine) is fantastic as well, with her sister Heather, and his BFF Rene.

I received an advance listen copy from the Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and this is my honest feedback.

I am LOVING the Sweater Weather series, and A Not So Fictional Fall is another great title! Savannah Scott's book tells the story of Tasha, a romance reader and author's assistant/audiobook narrator, who has a meet-cute with the romance writer behind her favorite books, Pierre, and, in a convenient progression of events, finds herself married to him. Pretty soon the lines in their not-so-fictional marriage of convenience become blurred, and they end up falling hard.

This was a fun spin on the marriage of convenience trope, especially with the added touch of his feminine pseudonym, and I enjoyed the author leaning hard into the French aspects of Pierre's life and personality. However, I felt like the relationship lacked substance. The first impressions the characters had of each were pretty much the extent of the depth that was developed, which was disappointing and made for a lot of repetition throughout the book. I also felt like Harvest Hollow was an afterthought, and I missed the cozy vibes and humor that the small town connection could have provided. Re-reading this in audiobook format was fun but only highlighted the parts that were missing for me last time. The production value of the audiobook were good, but the male narrator's French accent sounded off to me.

Thank you to the author via Victory Editing for gifting me with an ALC to review! All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley and Savannah Scott’s team for this audiobook.
