A rollercoaster ride of skulduggery amongst the highest echelons of the political classes and espionage specialists employed supposedly to protect the country whilst using their positions of power to manipulate warring fractions in order to feather their own nests. Betting that sounds a familiar premise. Lots of blurring of lines between who are the good guys and which of them are smoking mirrors. A hugely entertaining story not for the faint hearted in that bodies pile up with violence a regular feature of their daily working life as our protagonist runs amok in his efforts to track down a corrupt and evil Middle Eastern multi millionaire oligarch, who appears to be outside any normal laws, rules and restrictions applicable to the rest of society aided and abetted by a corrupt British security service. An original take on spy stories demonstrating the grey line between right and wrong, evil and legitimate activities under the guise of incorruptibility. Many thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Angel of Death by Rob Sinclair is the 12th book in The James Ryker Series. This has been a series I have not really followed. However, I really enjoyed the books I have read. This one was no different - I really enjoyed it especially as it was full of action throughout with lots of twists and turns that will have you wanting to find out what happens next.

James Ryker is investigating and hunts down members of the Syndicate, not many people believe that the Syndicate even exists, but, James knows all about the Syndicate - they are a shadowy organisation who are full of mega rich people and controlling the world affairs only for their own gains and nothing else!
James meets a lot of people along the way some are good and some are bad, but he has to keep his wits about him.

I really enjoyed this book and will be going back to read more of James Ryker.

With Ryker, Rob Sinclair has a character with depth, not exactly a hero but a man trying his best to right the wrongs that would otherwise go unpunished. The torture delivered is fairly graphic but in context and within reasonableness.

A really engrossing storyline that doesn’t all end golden in the garden, but then real life rarely does either.

I really enjoy a Rob Sinclair book and this one was no different.

In this gutsy, violent and enjoyable thriller Angel of Death, fans of clandestine espionage novels are in for a real treat in this riveting page-turner that segues from the Middle East to London, as James Ryker seeks out violent terrorist Ismail Karaman, a man who lives a very high profile life, is apparently untouchable, but is the head of a violent terrorist organisation known as The Syndicate.
Angel, known as the Angel of Death, is a former SIS operative whose life has been systematically destroyed by Karaman. She blames him and the corruption within the SIS for her demise into hard drugs and alcoholism, the loss of her husband and her daughter. She is not allowed to see her daughter and her husband has remarried.
She is recruited through a Health Retreat she attends as part of her rehabilitation program, to find and kill Karaman. But right from the beginning, although she is has agreed to be part of the three-person team for the money as well as the revenge, she feels something is not quite right.
Ryker is on the same trajectory; to find and eliminate Karaman once and for all. His first attempt goes terribly wrong, which once again sees him languishing in gaol, needing to be rescued by a clandestine arm of the Home Office. The person that arrives to release him is someone he never thought to see in the 'field' and makes him wonder just how far the tentacles of the Syndicate spread.
After this debacle Ryker has decided he is better on his own, but finds himself having to rescue Angel from a murderous firefight, Karaman having escaped once again. As they have the same objective, they join forces to get the job done; to even the score and settle old debts.
It is a moot point as to who is the more violent, Angel or Ryker, as they work their way across Europe to take on the man himself on home turf. But will they succeed?
Fast paced and thoroughly enjoyable Angel of Death, the twelfth book in the James Ryker Series from Rob Sinclair, will have you in the action until the bitter end. What will Ryker take on next in his bid to make the world a better place? Time will tell!

This is the 12th book in the James Ryker Series, but can easily be read as a standalone. It is a high octane espionage thriller which does not let its pace drop once.

Opening with an eye-wincing interrogation, Ryker is soon on the tail of The Syndicate & a deadly terrorist, Ismail Karaman. Unfortunately for the latter, he has another disgruntled ex-services after him & she blames him entirely for her downward spiral in life & her time in a Lebanese hell-hole of a prison.

Fast paced, brutal in places &, yet, highly entertaining & enjoyable. Twists & turns all over the place, I think I saw myself come back again! And who to trust? What a massive question & one that will only be answered if you read this brilliant book.

Twelve books in, and you would expect the story to be wearing a little. Nope! I don't think Rob Sinclair knows how to stop. I haven't read every book in the series, but I have read quite a few, and every time I start a new instalment, the quality is still top-notch.

If you want an adrenaline inducing and entertaining read, Angel of Death should be perfect! It's told from Ryker and Angel's perspectives through alternating chapters. I enjoy this type of storytelling so much. It makes the story so engrossing! And I think seeing two sides of the same story gives the reader a tantalising overall view.

Action packed and exhilarating with the expected violence that always comes as part of a plotline such as this. Ryker is always good to take my mind off the real world for as long as it takes me to read it. With a bit of everything, this is a book that will appeal to any readers who enjoy thrillers.
Thanks to Rachel's Random Resources, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the gifted ebook to write my review.

Ryker is on a mission. One that will help (he hopes) do damage to the omnipresent and omnipotent Syndicate. He’s after one man, a man who will give him answers. But nothing is simple in Ryker’s world and his initial mission goes a bit Pete Tong. But that never sets him back, he just gets a new plan.

But this time, he encounters someone who has the same end game as him but for a different reason. That someone reminded me a lot of Ryker himself. Someone who doesn’t trust easily. Someone who is screwed over. Someone who’s lost a loved one. Unsurprisingly they clash!!!

Sinclair has written a cracking action packed addition to the Ryker series. My handsome rugged hero is put through the mill again, fighting for what’s right by whatever means necessary – some of those means made me grimace. I was glued to my kindle as Ryker was chasing his target around the world. There were gasps and hands flying to the mouth as events spilled out of my kindle before me.

I have read a few of Rob Sinclair's books which I have thoroughly enjoyed but this is the first in this series however, despite this being book 12, I think it works well as a standalone and I certainly got to grip with the characters pretty quickly although realise there is an awful lot I have missed.

With fantastic characters, an excellent plot, loads of action, suspense and thrills and all written at a great, fast pace, this is a really good action/adventure/spy/thriller so will appeal to many. There are violent scenes but only what you would expect for this type of book and nothing that is over the top ... well I didn't think so.

Excellent book that I thoroughly enjoyed and many thanks to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of this, another excellent book from Rob Sinclair.

Ryker, a former intelligence agent, offers everything you'd expect from a character living on the edge. He's intelligent, ruthless, and fiercely loyal, having endured immense trauma, yet as the series unfolds, his deeply human and relatable side emerges.

This book is packed with action and suspense, introducing a chilling antagonist, Ismail Karaman—a wealthy, seemingly untouchable terrorist responsible for unspeakable crimes. Now, Karaman faces two formidable enemies: Ryker, and the "Angel of Death," a former agent whose life he shattered, leaving her seeking revenge after years of imprisonment in a Lebanese jail.

With Ryker and a vengeance-fueled agent on his trail, Karaman is in for the fight of his life. This gripping novel is full of unpredictable twists and turns that will keep readers hooked. I have to go back and read all the other books in the series because I am hooked!

This is the latest in the James Ryker series but it also reads well as a a standalone. This is an action packed, suspense filled thriller. Ryker, a former intelligence agent, is once again working undercover in the search for Ismail Karaman known as the Kingmaker. He is a known terrorist and Ryker believes he is working within a syndicate of political leaders for financial gain and extreme power. During the search Ryker encounters another former special agent, Angel, who had previously tried unsuccessfully to take Karaman out. Together they are a potent force.
This is a really well written book which is fast paced and as stated earlier full of action. Ryker has his own unique way of gaining information and goes in where it hurts. His main issue is knowing who to trust.
Once you start reading this book you'll not be able to put it down.

James Ryker is determined to do good from now on. He may need to do bad things to save lives, but he won't just kill for the sake of it - each life has to be weighed on his own morality sales before he'll take action. Of course, sometimes the bad guys won't give him that time, so he'll act first and sort out the rest later!

Ryker is a man with a past. He's lost his way slightly - no wife, no real job, just taking assignments from Winter. Karaman is someone who really needs to be taken out but Ryker might just have a rival.

Angel has also lost everything - her husband, her daughter, her job, her freedom. Even her sobriety. When a mysterious new guest arrives at her wellness retreat, he offers her the chance to get her revenge on the man she holds responsible for all her troubles. But that puts her in direct
competition with Ryker.

Ryker is determined, stubborn and loyal. Angel is traumatised, talented and has a burning, endless well of vengeance inside her. These two make a pretty deadly team but can they actually sustain the teamwork for any length of time. Those personalities and agendas are going to be clashing!

There is so much double dealing and murky politics going on, you're never really sure who is on which side. The interwoven story of the secret organisation which may or may not be pulling strings in the background ties everything together. There were a few expletives shouted through the reading of this book. Some of these characters really deserved their unaliving!

There are plenty of plot-twists and the action zips around the world so you really get caught up in the adventure and suspense.

Acton packed, globe trotting, proper spy thriller. Thank you to Netgalley for the advance reader copy.

If a potential reader is looking to keep their adrenaline nimble, this book could be a good choice. I found enough action, mystery and murder to give me a good thrill. In the twists and turns you'll meet Ryker and Angel - almost like cookie cutter replicas of each other.
Clandestine meetings, super rich folks and people in power, the key to much of the action. And is the Syndicate actually real? The intrigue kept the pages turning for me. Some potential readers may like to be cautioned regarding some of the more imitmate scenes as well as for some of the violence involved. Other than these aspects, I felt that author Rob Sinclair crafted a noteworthy narrative.

Thank you to @rachelsrandomresources for my copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve not read any of the rest of this series, this being book 12, but I really enjoyed this one. If you’re a fan of Jack Reacher or any “rogue but gets it done” agents, you’ll love this one.

Ryker has what seems to be no luck throughout this one - beaten, imprisoned, tortured, you name it. But as much as this is going on, he does get answers and finds his target. He also meets Angel, who we meet at the start, and he (and me!) really likes her. He sees a kindred spirit in her, they’re definitely two of a kind, that’s for certain! We meet some interesting characters along the way too, Winters for one. Even now the book is over, I’m still not sure we found out all we needed to about him.

I will be searching for more in this series, this was a great standalone and a really good intro to Ryker I think.

Firmer Intelligence Officer James Ryker is on the trail of one of the free world's most wanted terrorists, Karaman.
So is the Angel of Death,
And when they combine forces to track him, all hell breaks loose.
Great story with non stop action.
Characters are c ok early defined and easy to read.
Sometimes, too easy.
Ryker brings all his usual skills, both legal, and otherwise, to pursue his target.
Good reading and non stop action.

This is the 12th book in The James Ryker Series and this one works very well as a standalone. I have not read all of these but this one is fast-paced from start to finish.

James Ryker is a pain in the proverbial for his sort of boss Winter and this is a constant in this story. While Ryker is good at what he does, he is also very focused on trying to pin down the Syndicate, a group that he believes runs countries, politics, and business and will do anything to keep their power and money. Ryker finds out that there is more at play than just what he is being told.

Ismail Karaman is on the most wanted list but seems to be able to come and go as he pleases. Ryker wants him as he may be the ticket to getting more info on the syndicate. He is not the only one who wants him, Angel wants him and she wants him to suffer for how he ruined her life.

This is definitely one for fans of the Reacher style of book and I can see why this James Ryker has been likened to him. Ryker is a moody, Bond/ Reacher character but with some sense of right and wrong, but he is blinded by his focus on the syndicate and Karaman. Angel coming along causes problems but she is only the start of the problems.

In the world of espionage, politics, power and money there is never going to be complete trust and this becomes more and more obvious as the story weaves its way around Europe. The story is tense and dramatic and I could pretty much visualise this as I was reading the book, the author has a great way of describing things and setting the scene, painting the picture and with his characters.

There is some violence as you would expect and this is all in keeping with the story, it is on point and works so well within the context.

This is a fast book, it doesn't let up and there are some brilliant dramatic scenes. This is one for fans of crime, thriller, action and adventure books and one I would definitely recommend.

I know that for personal reasons in Rob’s life, we had a while to wait for this novel

Boy, was it worth it.

Have loved this series since before James Ryker was James Ryker, and this was so worth waiting for.

All the element we have come to know and love in Rob’s work

Angel of Death by Rob Sinclair is an action-packed thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The story follows James Ryker, an ex-intelligence agent, as he chases after a deadly terrorist, Ismail Karaman, who is free despite his past crimes. Ryker crosses paths with the "Angel of Death," a former agent seeking revenge on Karaman for ruining her life.

The fast-paced plot takes readers through Europe and Asia, filled with twists and turns. The dynamic between Ryker and Angel adds extra tension, as both have the same target but different motives. The book is full of high-stakes action and suspense, making it hard to put down. While the ending felt rushed, it was still an engaging read with strong characters, particularly Angel, who stole the show with her relentless pursuit of vengeance. A must-read for fans of thrillers with non-stop action

Maverick Ryker is back causing chaos wherever he goes but all in the name of justice although the authorities do not always seem to see this in same light! As usual the reader is taken on a fast paced journey through Europe and Asia following Ryker and the mayhem in his wake. Good storng story and you are always waiting to see what happens next.
