The Syndicate is a bit too credible for comfort and forms just one of the components of this modern thriller, with plenty of action and complex links to keep you focused as you read. I loved the way the author moved between internal story-lines to keep the pace really ramped up. Strong characters and enough intrigue to make this a truly gripping thriller will bring this to the top of your TBR pile!
This is my first book and the fourth book in a series. I have not read the first three books yet. So, I would say you could read them as standalones. But might be easier to read the series' first. In this novel we follow a man named James Ryker, whom is on a mission to find out who is in charge of a criminal conspiracy. Ryker is the type of person who will not stop until he gets what he wants. He gets into touch with some old colleagues in an attempt to solve the crimes.
Angel is set out for revenge on the man that ruined her life, she has nothing left and is fighting to get her life back on track. When the scenario comes along that allows her to get back at the man who took everything out from underneath her, will she take it? Will Angel and Ryker be able to find the solution that is fit for everyone.
If you enjoy fast paced, terroristic thrillers this is the series/book for you. This book is full of twists and turns, and you never know where you're going to end up.
Thnak you Boldwood Books, Netgalley for the advance copy of this EARC.
An action-packed thriller featuring James Ryker as he investigates and hunts down members of the Syndicate. The Syndicate is a shadowy organization with ultra-rich people controlling world affairs for their own gains. Of course, aside from Ryker, not many people believe the Syndicate exists. Along the way, he meets Angel, an ex-Special Forces soldier who was betrayed and therefore spent years unjustly imprisoned.
This is my first time reading this author's work, even though this is not the first book of the Ryker series. It's enjoyable and fast-paced, as books in this genre are expected to be. Personally, I am more intrigued with the character of Angel than Ryker. My main gripe is that the ending came too quickly, especially after all the hurdles and challenges the MC's had to go through throughout the book. But overall, still a very good introduction to a new-to-me author.
**Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!**
What a fantastic read. I couldn't put it down. Have previously read Rob Sinclairs books and this one didn't disappoint
Thank you for the opportunity to review
James Ryker is back. A much loved series with an intriguing and dangerous plot . Its was hard to decide who to believe on the fast flowing thriller. Set mainly in England with several English character.s. Sadly it was spoiled for me with the use of US spellings. Previous books in the series have all had English spellings.
.
This is a pretty raw spy and action book, with very good characters and a fast pace. The plot is pretty basic, but there are a few twists to make things interesting, and thus making this an entertaining book.
I'm not always a fan of novels about terrorists, but this one kept my attention riveted throughout as the action never stops! It begins with "The Kingmaker" being tortured by protagonist, James Ryker--an ex-intelligence officer. Then we meet Angel who is targeting "Alpha." In present day we see Ryker in London as he's breaking into a high-rise apartment. It's wonderfully-convoluted tale of espionage, "the syndicate," and terrorism as Ryker and Angel begin working together; and although there is graphic violence, it moves along at break-neck speed and only let's you take a full breath at the end! Whew!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!
"Angel of Death" by Rob Sinclair was an action packed story that takes you in a wild adventure. This book keeps you guessing and you don't want to put it down so you can figure out who did it.
James Ryker is on a mission to find out who runs a crime syndicate. He will stop at nothing to find out who is the top person. He calls on old colleagues to help him find a person that might hold the answers he seeks.
Angel wants revenge on the man that ruined her life. She lost everything and wants to get her life back. When the chance comes up to get back at the man she takes it. Ryker and Angel team up to find out the answers.
Highly recommend to readers on action books.
Ismail Karaman is one of the deadliest terrorists in recent history. So why is he free to float around the Persian Gulf on his luxury yacht? Ex-intelligence agent James Ryker thinks he knows why, the answer lies at the corrupt heart of the SIS. Ryker isn't one to let the bad guys get away with murder, but Karaman has many enemies, and one in particular will make all their lives much more complicated. They call her the Angel of Death - a former agent whose last encounter with Karaman cost her everything, and left her in a Lebanese prison cell. Now she's free, and with nothing to lose, she's determined to get revenge,,,, whatever it takes.
This story is told by Ryker and Angel in alternating points of view. They are both strong and likeable characters. Its action=packed. There was some quite graphic violence, so this book won't be for everyone. This is my first read by the author and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #RobSinclair for my ARC of #AngelOfDeath in exchange for an honest review.
The very epitome of page-turner with a chilling storyline that grips from the first and kept me guessing right up to the heart-racing denouement STUNNER ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Angel of Death is the 12th book in the James Ryker series and a very entertaining read.
I've only read one previous book in the series, and I found this one to be a much slicker and more engaging read with our two main characters, Ryker and Angel, alternating points of view. It's quite a globe-trotter, although much of the action takes place in the UK, but a UK told very much through American eyes (and with US spelling)- including gas stations and quite a few handguns. That said, the narrative is good enough for these things to pass me by with only a slight chuckle as the action ramps up.
Ryker is as violent as in the previous book, but he might just have met his match in Angel of Death.
This is a really solid read, sure to appeal to fans of the genre and those looking for an action-packed thriller.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my review copy.
Book 6 in the James Ryker Series and Ryker is still desperately trying to track down The Syndicate. This time, working with his colleague/handler the target is terrorist Ismail Karaman. Karaman is an extremely wealthy Middle Eastern who Ryker believes is head of the secretive organisation.
Briefly, Karaman had survived an attempt at capture by an SIS agent Angel some years before. Angel had been caught and imprisoned in Beirut. Now embittered and looking for revenge she is after blood. So the Ryker and Angel find themselves with the same target. What can possibly go wrong? Well, simply everything as the word “trust” flies out the window as bullets come the other way.
Ryker is a great character, former intelligence agent, he is loyal and honest but also ruthless. Fast paced, some graphic violence and an explosive and fatal climax this is a shocking and exciting page turner.
This was a good book that was super fast paced, had tons and tons of action, had so many twists and turns that it felt like I was on a rollercoaster. I think the pacing was fantastic, and the plot was good. I enjoyed this book!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for an honest review!!
Why have I never read this author before?? I feel I have missed out but will make up for it now. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Interesting characters and an excellent storyline with lots of twists and turns.
The action in this book starts from the first page and doesn’t stop. It is full of twists and betrayals and sometimes it was hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. I will definitely read this author again. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
The James Ryker series I believe is one of the best espionage thriller series there is out there, and I have been a fan since book one. An ex-intelligence agent, Ryker provides the reader with everything you could wish for in a character that lives life on the edge. He is highly intelligent, ruthless, loyal and has suffered great traumas in his life, but as the books progress and we learn more about him, he is also incredibly human and relatable.
Each book is chocked full of action and suspense and the latest ‘Angel of Death’ is no different. Here Sinclair presents us with some fabulous characters, a deadly terrorist Ismail Karaman who creates fear and destruction wherever he goes but seems to be bullet proof while maintaining his affluent lifestyle while committing appalling crimes. But now he will have to rise to a new challenge and face up to a fearful nemesis named the ‘Angel of Death’, a former agent who Karaman has left a never-ending mark on, destroying her family and left her rotting in a Lebanese prison.
So now Karaman has two incredibly highly trained targets on his back, both Ryker and a woman who is thirsty for revenge, these are two people you certainly do not want to mess with but for the reader, we are about to be highly entertained. As always, I opened the first page of the book and was then unable to put it down and finished this in the early hours of this morning. So many twists and turns will keep you glued to the pages and if you are looking for action you will not be disappointed. The suspense is palpable throughout and the fast moving and complex plot ensures that this book will be another winner for Rob Sinclair.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions expressed are my own.
I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish, it had that thriller element that I wanted. I thought Rob Sinclair wrote this in a unique way and that the overall story worked with the revenge element. The characters felt like they belonged in this world. It's amazing that we're twelve books in the James Ryker series and that it continues to be a great series.
