Family dynamics at their worst! So well written, I felt such discomfort at times! Lots of suspense and believable characters with lots of layers. I read this on a day it’s that good!

An interesting bulb made me think this could be one thing but I was blown away by how wrong I was A interesting well paced full of action twisty thriller. The pov were full of emotion and really emphasised thr important of looking beyond what you think uou see. The characters were complex and the story twists and turns were unexpected. The pacing made me care about tge 2 two leading characters. I found myself really hating the in-laws especially as the action intensified. It was totally believable although extreme. Noone rrully knows what lengths they will go to protect the ones they love. The ending was justified if a tad predictable. I throughly enjoyed this from start to finish. It felt a quick read as it was so hard yo pit down. I was gripped highly recommended fir anyone who enjoys a good mystery thriller full of teists and turns.

Maria’s latest story is absolutely thrilling! Once again she gave us an amazing storyline!

The MC Natalie finds herself in a tough spot when Dominic’s ex-wife, Carla, is invited for Christmas by Natalie’s in-laws.

Maria beautifully captures Natalie’s struggles and the tense family dynamics. The suspense kept me on edge, especially as Natalie tried to uncover what her mother-in-law’s true intentions were by inviting Carla.

The snowy, isolated setting intensifies the mounting friction between the characters. This book grips you with uncertainty, leaving you eager to see how far Natalie will go to protect her place in Dominic’s life.

It’s a compelling read that explores themes of betrayal, survival, and the fight for acceptance. This book was a real page-turner! Much sleep was lost! Kudos to Maria as once again she brings us a brilliant storyline!

I really enjoyed this psychological thriller and am a huge fan of this author.

Natalie has been married to Dominque for just over a year and in the worst weather conditions are off to spend Christmas with Dominque’s parents Anne Marie and Roger. But unbeknown to Natalie, Dominque’s parents have also told his ex-wife Carla that she can also stay as the weather is so bad and they do not want her having to spend Christmas in her office.

Natalie is about to experience a very uneasy time, and her life will be absolutely uprooted by what will go in this house. However not all is what it seems, and this is when the book really takes off. Dominque’s parents absolutely love Carla and are extremely unhappy that Dominque and Carla are no longer together, but we get a sense there is more to this than just wishing their son had married a different woman.

Natalie also has strong fears about this woman and is sure she is trying to undermine her and her relationship with her husband, but she is also not a mouse and is going to fight to keep what is hers.

There is so much tension and suspense in this book. Many secrets which will be revealed that will keep you on the edge of our seat, I read the book in one sitting. I am not going o say anything more than pick this book up and read it, you will not be disappointed.

I finished this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down once I started it and was enthralled with the plot. It’s fast paced and comes with plenty of twists. Maria Frankland has done it again with another amazing thriller.

The twists keep on coming and there is a lot to unpack in these pages. I figured out pretty early on who the bad actors were going to be, but it was so much fun (????) to sit back and watch this all play out. There were plenty of characters to despise and lots of details to unravel. Tighten your seatbelts, kids. It's gonna be a bumpy ride!!

His ex wife was amazing as are Maria’s backlog of books. Kept me awake most of the night as I just had to finish it. A great read… grabbed my attention from the first page… with each new revelation, I just kept wanting to turn the pages… I highly recommend this book Well where do I begin? I have been so excited about this one and it has delivered on every level. I have been so caught up in this one – I devoured the whole thing in just one sitting.

I also love just reading the new Maria Frankland, you know what you are going to get - twists and straight into the action. No slow burn it just hits you and so readable. This was a great Saturday afternoon read.
There is a surprise element with the weapon and I just loved that - but also know how true it can be as I know someone who was injured by one.

I really enjoyed this book, and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat! It was fast-paced, well thought through, and really held my attention. I'm a fan of Freida McFadden's books, and this definitely gave me the same sort of vibes! I did think the second half of the book was a little bit slower paced. There was a tonne of action right from the start, and it seemed to hit its peak around mid way.

For me, this was a great thriller! It wasn't too complex to the point where I couldn't follow the story. I was invested in Natalies' story, how her past and future came together was so interesting, and it made for a super fun and fast read!

I really enjoyed the story, and I always like it when a book has multiple POVs. I will definitely be checking out more of Maria Franklands' work!

But all is not quite what it seems as this page turner takes you through a Christmas filled with a snowstorm and more. This is the first book I read from this author and I have to say that I liked it enough to check out her other books.

Natalie and Dominic spend Christmas with his parents and sister. But Carla, Dominic’s ex wife was also invited and they are stuck there because of snow. Natalie thinks that Carla wants Dominica back, but things are more complicated than that.

This was a quick read that took a violent turn at the half point and everything becomes a nightmare for Natalie.

The pace gets faster and it keeps you wondering what is going on. The whole book is filled with tension.

The first part is narated from Natalie’s POV and the second from Carla’s.

I managed to anticipate some of the twists and the ending did not surprise me as you can’t trust anyone.

This is my seventh read by Maria Frankland and I have to say, I believe this one could very well be my favourite! This book, His Ex-Wife, had me hooked from the prologue and I could not put it down! As usual, I didn’t know who to trust and nothing is ever as it seems. Maria’s books always have a twist that I never see coming, and this book is no exception! Highly recommend this one, 5 stars!

Maria Frankland has once again captivated her readers with another thrilling read.

I really enjoyed the setting of Christmas and winter, with its cold, snowy nights and the soft glow of festive lights which evoked a sense of nostalgia and comfort. However, Maria Frankland skillfully contrasts this with the underlying family dramas that unfold behind closed doors. The holidays, typically associated with joy and togetherness, often bring underlying tensions and unresolved conflicts to the surface.

As the story progressed I was taken on a rollercoaster of emotions—sympathy for some, frustration with others, and a compelling desire to uncover the truth behind their actions. The suspense built with each chapter, keeping me fully invested in the story as they navigate the intricacies of love, betrayal, and redemption within the family unit.

For those who enjoy a story that is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining, this book is a must-read..

It’s a slow burn in the beginning but then it gets going and doesn’t let you go til the very last page.

His Ex-Wife is a diabolical novel, I loved it!!

Natalie has the perfect fiance, Dominic. They're spending time at his parents, which isn't great as they aren't exactly in love with her. And then there's the small detail that Domimic's ex-wife has decided to crash their party and stay the night. Natalie's in-laws are incredibly happy about this. Natalie, not so much. Suddenly, it's all about Carla! Why can't Dominic stand up to his parents?

A solid 5 star.

Maria Frankland's His Ex-Wife delivers an emotional rollercoaster, filled with raw, intense feelings of betrayal, jealousy, and payback. Frankland’s writing style is sharp and engaging, pulling readers deep into the complex emotions of her characters. The tension builds steadily, with every twist in the plot hitting hard, making it difficult to put down.

HIS EX WIFE by Maria Frankland is absolutely brilliant. It's truly a brilliant book.
I loved the main character and was rooting for her throughout the book. I didn't know what was in store for her at all.

This book is full of betrayal and mistrust.
The unconditional love shown at times is truly beautiful between some of the characters.
I binge read this book within 2 days and i didn't want it to end. It had me gripped.

Going to visit your in-laws can always be difficult, but going for your first Christmas as a married couple can be quite awkward.

Natalie and Dominic arrive in a snowstorm, it’s going to be a long Christmas for Natalie stuck with the in-laws. This is made even worse when she finds out that Dominic’s ex-wife, Maria, has also been invited.

Natalie doesn’t know much about the split between Dominic and Natalie, but she does know that something is going on now. With the in-laws all over Carla and making Natalie feel extremely uncomfortable, it’s not going to be a good Christmas.

With secrets aplenty, can Natalie find out just what is going on. She also needs to try and keep her own secrets hidden.

This is an absolute corker of a story, I loved it!

Such great characters, all with a tale to tell.

This is one of those books with everything you could possibly want in one book. We are treated to secrets, lies, revenge, and so many twists along the way.

I could not put this book down and finished it in the early hours as I had to know how it was going to end.

A classic “whodunit” that leaves you on the edge of your seat! I loved the sinister twist on the holiday season and festivities. This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last!

My heart was pounding so hard that I could hear it!
I was into this story straight away and chapter by chapter it was getting harder and crazier!
Seriously, this is a must-read thriller for sure!
The action happens in the present with some small memory flashbacks. It's so easy to follow the storyline and we have questions after questions of What the hell is going on? And then BOM! And there is no way back...

Dominic and Natalie will spend Christmas in Domenics parent's home. This would be absolutely fine if Dominic's ex-wife Carla was not invited! Now Natalie must deal with his parents and ex-wife and looks like nothing works in Natalie's favour! But no one expected that things would go out of hand and someone's life would be in danger...
