Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC copy of The Married Man. This was my first book by K.L. Slater and it had quite a few twists and turns. I did have a hard time following some of the characters because of the point of view changes but ultimately was a book that was easy to follow and kept me guessing. It wasn't as fast paced as some other psychological thrillers, but still a tangled web of deceit, lies, and secrets. Giving it a 3.4 stars - I really liked the last few chapters with a recap of the full untangled story, that was nice little cherry on top to make sure I followed all the twists that occurred.

What a psychological roller coaster. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I didn't! Lots of twists and turns and secrets. This book is told from multiple POV's which kept the story interesting and flowing. Great read if you want to get lost for a little while.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and KL Slater for the ARC of 'The Married Man' in return for an honest review.

I have read most of KL Slater's novels and always grin them brilliant and this is no exception.

Liv's husband disappears one afternoon on a day out with his son Maddox, who is found unharmed but is too young to give much information.

Eleven years later Liv is waiting for a substantial amount of money to arrive and the assumption is from her missing husband. Meanwhile, Maddox is getting into trouble.

The money does not arrive so Liv begins to investigate what has happened taking the reader on a twisted journey with clever plotting and great characters.

Highly recommended.

I think had there been more twists and turns throughout the book and not at the end then I would have enjoyed it much more. The author has a good writing style and a very vivid imagination, and I am excited to read more of her work.

The Married Man is the latest psychological/domestic thriller from K.L.Slater.

Told from multiple points of views and short chapters, it is a slow burner that really picks up in the last third of the book. Full of twists and turns, secrets and lies, and a complex plot it will keep you guessing to the end.

4 stars ****

The Married Man is an utterly mesmerizing plot filled with secrets, lies, twists and diabolical misdirection.

I absolutely devoured this book, and @klslaterauthor brought out the big guns on the drama with this one. The moving character POV’s were the perfect way to reveal the secrets one by one, and you pick at threads to figure out the mystery behind Rich’s disappearance, Livvy’s accomplice-based role, and Kait’s crumbling reality.

Jammed packed with suspense and with impossible to guess twists, this is truly a book for the autumn season when it’s cold outside and you want a distraction inside. I don’t even want to hint at what happens in this story as it’s best devoured without any ideas of what’s coming at you. But I can promise you satisfying, diabolical fun.

Many thanks to @bookouture for inviting me on this tour!

This story revolves around two main characters, Liv and Kait. Liv's husband vanished 11 years ago, leaving her to raise their son on her own. Kait is adjusting to married life, pregnant with her first child. She beings to suspect that her husband is having an affair. The lives of the two women intersect when Kait finds something in her husband's pocket connecting him to Liv.

A pretty average read for me. I found it to be a bit lengthy, littered with some random storylines that didn't really add anything to the book. The ending was pretty surprising, albeit farfetched. I didn't really care for any of the characters and they were pretty unreliable. I think if this book was more concise and didn't have some of the side storylines, it would have been better!

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

K.L Slater always manages to get me out of a reading slump!!
Their books are always so gripping, and this one was no exception.

I really enjoyed this, and all the way through I was trying to guess what the ending would be... it turns out it was much more complicated than I initially had envisaged. I did get a bit lost towards the end and this was the main reason I couldn't give this the full 5*.
The book starts immediately with the drama, there is no lead up - and it was gripping throughout.

KL Slater has done it again!! They never disappoint!!

This one was a bit of a slower page turner for me. I overall enjoyed the story, but I felt like it didn't really pick up speed until about 70% into the book. There were a few times the character names got flipped during the story, so it was a little confusing. I know this is an advanced readers copy, so I'm hoping the issues will be fixed with the release. The ending was a little meh for me. I would recommend this book if you're looking for a quick short read, but also a book that you need to do a little powering through to reach the end. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC.

This author will never cease to amaze me. This was hard to put down with its dual timelines and unique plot. There were many characters to keep track of for those who aren't particularly crazy about that. I, however, found it more interesting, and for me, it kept the story going strong. With its many jaw-dropping twists and turns and the author's brilliant writing style, I devoured this one in record time. Four stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC

Wowza!! Just wow! One of the best thrillers I've read this year. Soooo many twists, turns, and surprises! Just when I thought I had it all figured out, something happened, and then it was back to the drawing board.

The one thing that annoyed me about this book, as with other books like this, is the way the author goes back and forth between past and present. I can never understand why authors do this.

I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to tackle another by this author.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion/review.

I have read a few of K.L. Slater's books and have not been disappointed yet and I wasn't with this one.

Eleven years ago, Liv's husband, Rich, vanished without a trace, leaving behind their young son, Maddox. Now, as Liv prepares to receive a long-awaited financial settlement, she finds herself caught in a web of intrigue and danger.

With a complex plot of secrets and lies, The Married Man had me riveted. The short chapters and multiple perspectives had me gripped from the start but if I have one complaint, it's that the ending felt a bit rushed but that didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of this book.

Recommended to those of you who enjoy a great thriller with some great twists and many thanks to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of this riveting read.

The Married Man was such an interesting book.

The plot was unique

There are a lot of characters which slowed down my progress in the beginning. Once I got them all figured out it went by quicker. A lot of unlikable people in this one, but also some I liked too.

I really like the character of Maddox and the role he played in finding out the truth.

I wasn't sure where this one was going to go, but that's a good thing. I like to be surprised.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

This book took me longer to complete than expected. I think part of my struggle and lack of desire to want to read it at every waking moment was it was in the UM. Some terms were unfamiliar to me. There were also quite a few characters. There were cliff hangers to make me want to keep going but it didn’t get good until 75% into it.

Wow!
What did I just read?!?!
Another great one from K.L. Slater, who never disappoints. Let's just say The Married Man not only has a great plot, it also has well-written characters that take you on a twisty roller-coaster ride full of secrets, betrayal, and deceit. It was an absolute page-turner that kept me hooked until the very end.

*Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

"The Married Man" by K.L. Slater follows Liv as her husband suddenly disappears during a day out with their son, Maddox. Eleven years later, Liv is waiting for a huge chunk of money to appear in a secret bank account, presumably to be deposited by her "missing" husband. However, when the money doesn't show up, Liv starts digging into her husband's whereabouts. If her husband is still alive, why hasn't he deposited the money? Has he remarried and started a "new" life?

Thank you to the publisher, Bookouture, for approaching me directly with a review request and for the gifted copy. All opinions expressed here are my own.

This novel is filled with multiple characters, which took me some time to sort out. It was a decent enough story; however, there were many outrageous twists that made it too overwhelming and unbelievable. Unfortunately, this book was just okay but not memorable. I've heard that this author has plenty of great books to offer.

If you're looking for a cat-and-mouse chase story with exciting twists, this may just be for you.

I like a story that keeps you guessing throughout the entire thing. I didn't trust a single character in The Married Man. Well, maybe the kid. That's about it. There were a few times in which I forgot exactly where I was and who was who. That may be more due to my state of mind while reading it than the book itself. Still, all of the characters were not exactly likable, but still kept me wanting to know what was going to happen to them. Bringing it all together at the end was mostly satisfying.

Clever idea and interesting with the teenage son angle. Decent but not great. I wasn't hooked but I did read it and it was OK.
