This is a very enjoyable, modern romance read. I think sometimes romance books struggle with keeping the momentum of a story, but this was a proper page turner. This book brought all the emotions, I was sad and happy for the characters, frustrated and angry at others! I really enjoyed the plot and the variety of characters you meet along the way. It was written well and the story flowed perfectly. I gasped in parts, laughed in others, but enjoyed all of it!

The way the book was sectioned worked really well - the first part you can get the death of her best friend is so strong in Ellie's mind and motivations. The second part Stella is still in her mind but Ellie has clearly grown into her own and becomes strong, independent woman and I think this growth was shown very well.

Some parts were perhaps a little bit over descriptive, which I find unnecessary sometimes. The part where she was in the bar with Ash and she described every single song that was playing was a bit repetitive for me.

This was a great romance read with a great plot, good characterisation and perfect story telling!

I’ve always loved Paige Toons books and this was no exception. The characters were likeable and the plot was engaging and enjoyable. I couldn’t stop reading. Even though the ending was predictable, it was still an enjoyable story.

Another outstanding, heartwarming book from Paige Toon. The main characters Ash and Ellie are warm likeable characters who pull you along with their journey and break your heart over and over again! From the stunning descriptions of Europe, Wales and even Space Paige Toon places you right in the heart of the journey. Never disappoints.

4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
This story follows Ellie & Ash, who meet when interrailing, they spend 3 out of this world days together realising they are both trying to cope with the grief of each loosing their best friends, until they are forced to go their seperate ways and agree to meet back up a week later - when Ellie is left and Ash doesn’t show, Ellie decides 3 days was all they’d have and sets to move on with her life until 6 years later Ash unexpectedly comes crashing back into Ellie’s life and changing all she thought she knew of him, realising they are from completely different backgrounds & wondering if she ever knew him at all.

There is so much more that happens in this story but don’t want to spoil any of it so go in blind and enjoy the ride & all the emotions it will pull from you🥹 this is the definition of right person, wrong time but destiny waits for no one! Ellie & Ash ARE soulmates. I liked both the MC’s together, they aren’t perfect but they know it! The scenery is explained perfectly as usual with Toon’s writing placing you right in the setting with them.
Subjects of grief, finding yourself, suicide, death, parental neglect and affairs(not mc’s).

If you enjoy Paige Toon you will definitely enjoy this one. 💐🌌✨ Thank you to @paigetoonauthor @netgalley for this arc opportunity 💫

Firstly big thank you to Paige Toon, Penguin Random House, Cornerstone and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

It's 4.30 am as I write this because I am all emotional and need to just sing this novels praises. Also, I have a sleeping baby on me, so now is the opportunity.

I love every single one of Paiges books but even I am still amazed at her writing and how she still comes up with the most wonderful stories and characters that hook you in and after 17 years of reading her books I am yet to read a story and think meh.

The pacing as always was great. Ash and Ellie are lovely characters. We get the story from Ellies point of view, but I feel we get to know Ash just as much through their interactions. I loved the second chance they got at their love story and how they came back into each other's lives. I had a suspicion of how they might meet again from the conversation they had before they lost each other, and the nature of the positions they find themselves when they do added to the tension of tstory. laughed and cried. Standard really when reading a Paige Toon book. I'm trying so hard not to give any spoilers, so I will just leave it there and say this is another brilliant read. I'm excited for when I will get my hard copy preorder!

Told from the perspective of Ellie who meets Ash just as she’s lost interest in inter-railing and after spending three days with him agrees to continue her trip in a weeks time after spending a week with her parents only Ash fails to show up at their arranged meeting point. This affects Ellie’s behaviour over the next few years quite significantly, I would say almost disproportionately however six years down the line she meets Ash again and is torn between being amazed at seeing him and furious with him for his perceived lies from her point of view.

I found this quite a difficult romance as it’s full of angst and impossible situations. I can see why Elilie and Ash felt like kindred spirits with difficult childhoods and significant losses in their lives but I never fully got behind the feeling that they were each others ‘one’. There’s no shortage of emotion in this but I think that’s probably what I struggled with as it just got too much at times, I personally feel this would have been much stronger if told from both perspectives too. Overall though it’s a good romance read and I think plenty will enjoy it but it just didn’t quite hit the spot for me. 7/10

I have been a fan of Paige since the beginning and I have loved all of her books, so I was really excited when I got the email offering me the opportunity to read the advanced copy.

Ellie meets Ash whilst she is interrailing alone, and there is instant chemistry between them and for 3 days it is just them 2. Ellie has to leave to meet her parents (that's another story), but they agree to meet up again 1 week later in Madrid, however Ash doesn't arrive! Fast forward 6 years and Ellie has left her parents business and followed her dreams to be a gardener.

I liked this book, but felt it was rushed in places.
I loved learning about gardening, space, stars and the planets.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

I absolutely loved this book.
It's not my usual genre, I'm more of a gory thriller kinda gal, but I fancied a change and oh boy I'm glad I picked out this book.
It had me as hooked as a whodunnit from the start and I was invested in Ellie and Ash's relationship all the way.
The story warmed my heart and broke my heart in equal measure, and I was so excited to learn Paige Toon has such a big back catalogue which I will now be working my way through!
This is a love story that will stay with you for a long time after you finish the book.

Maybe I’ve read too much romance, but this book was utterly predictable from start to finish. From the giveaway foreshadowing to the awkward (forced for drama) love triangle I knew exactly where this novel was going.

This novel reads as young adult romance. If I knew this prior to reading I would have passed. The characters start off immature & somehow age 6-8 years and are somehow only slightly less immature. The romance is only a couple notches spicier than Disney’s Cinderella. So if you’re a spice fan, pass this one up.

The single quotations instead of the usual double made the dialogue annoying to follow. Hopefully this is corrected with final publishing.

That all being said, this is an easy feel-good read. I was able to breeze through it in about 5 hours. If you’re into nobility, lumberjack, & long lost love tropes this may be up your alley.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this beautiful book.

This is the first Paige Toon book I have read and I honestly cannot wait to read her other books. ‘What if I never got over you’ is a complicated but beautiful love story. The characters of Ellie and Ash are both relatable and the setting is gorgeous. I live in Wales so was pleasantly surprised this book was set mainly there! The ending felt rushed but didn’t take out the enjoyment of the story, I just wanted more of the two of them!

Another fantastic read from Paige Toon.I really enjoyed Ash and Ellie's relationship sharing their journey and the misunderstandings,tt made me feel like I was with them as the obstacles and prejudice they faced were at times heartbreaking but something kept drawing them back to each other.Really enjoyed their childhood stories which I think had a big impact on them both trying to move forward. A lovely warmhearted story that grips you from the beginning

I’ve never read a Paige Toon book before but I’m definitely adding all of her books to my TBR. I really enjoyed What If I Never Get Over You, from the very beginning, all the way through, I was hooked and rooting for the main characters.

Ash and Ellie meet whilst traveling. They’ve both lost their best friends, have a complicated relationship with their families and end up having a whirlwind summer romance whilst in Lisbon. However, Ellie has plans to meet her family and bring her interrailing adventure to an end. But 3 days with Ash is enough to change her mind.

They agree to meet up in Spain, which is where the heartbreak begins. Not theirs. Mine.

This book is set into parts (4 I believe?) and each one is at a different point in the characters' lives. I loved the timeline and the way that no matter how many years have passed, Ellie and Ash always find their way back to each other. The only issue with the writing style is that it was a rollercoaster of emotions and broke my heart a thousand times over.

“Life is too short not to do what you love.”

It’s a “will they, won’t they” kind of plot, but done so in the best way. Both the main characters are on a journey of learning about themselves, and it seems that as soon as they get settled apart, the universe is determined to bring them back together.

The idea that whilst meeting somebody travelling allows you to be whoever you want to be, but all Ash and Ellie want to be with each other is themselves. But it seems that their 3-day romantic whirlwind in Lisbon, isn’t as full of truths as the other is led to believe.

“But here on Earth, four and a half billion years after our sun formed, five billion years after our sun was formed, five billion years before it will start to die, one girl sits on a hill in Wales, falling in love with a boy. And nothing can stop it from happening.”

When they come together, it's that all-consuming love of two very different people trying to figure out how to make things work.

Also, bonus points for the Welsh setting. Loved it.

Highly recommend to those who want a slow burning, will they or won’t they, multi-timeline read with a happy ending!

“’You did seem to detest me.’

‘It was better than the alternative.’

‘Which was?’

‘Giving up.’”

Thank you NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for the arc in exchange for an honest review!

What If I Never Get Over You

Paige Toon does it again; this book is another incredible addition to her collection. Thank you so much to @paigetoonauthor and @netgalley and Cornerstone for providing me the ARC of this book to read and review; it was a privilege.

Ellie meets Ash while interrailing through Europe; over three days they bond, laugh and feel something akin to love. They decide to meet again in a week while they both go on their own journeys. They leave each other excited for what’s next, only for Ash to not show up. Six years later, Ellie eventually lands a great job in Wales working in the garden for a Viscount and Viscountess, she believes she is right where she is meant to be, but there, in the middle of the Welsh countryside is Ash. The truth of why he didn’t arrive in Spain is devastating, and things between them couldn’t be more complicated…

I adored this book, I devoured it and never wanted it to end. The quick almost insta love between Ellie and Ash is sizzling, it’s fierce and I was so giddy while reading it. The devastation knowing that Ash isn’t going to show is so sad; you are just pleading through the pages for Ellie to keep going and hold her head up.

I loved Ellie as a main character, she was quirky, sweet and she knew pain and loss; it enabled me to accept her mistakes and understand why she reacted the way she did. Ash is adorable, kind and his own worst enemy at times. He really tries to do what he feels is right but goes about it in awkward ways. His character at the start of the book differs so much to the man at the end; the man at the end is PERFECTION.

The plot takes place over many years, and this creates more tension in the story, it also amplifies that shock factor when they do reunite each time.

The side characters, the found family, difficult parent relationships, friendships, loss of loved ones all merge to create this immersive, warm whirlwind romance book.

Another one to add to your TBRs all - releasing in 2025.

Thank you NetGalley and Paige Toon for giving me the opportunity to read this arc. When i saw that my request was accepted. I was so happy Paige Toon is one of my fave authors and Seven Summers is my fave read of 2024, and let me tell you this story equally did not disappoint.

Ash and Ellie meet whilst travelling in Lisbon they spent few days together where their connection grew enough to fall in love.. they both parted ways promising to meet up in Madrid. However life happened and this meet up happened to change the course of their lives.

Years later they met up again at Ellie’s dream job, but Ash was different, different background, different life to hers with wealth, social status and family life

I loved reading and seeing how this relationship would work away from there meeting years ago. Could it work????

First of all I need to show love to the nod to one of my all time fave series mentioned within this book. Author crossover very special..

This story was so special and unique it’s not your typical or easy romance. Its showed you the growth, working together to overcome huddles and feelings/emotions to be with the one you love. Which this story portrayed perfectly.

I could feel Ellie’s pain and heartache navigating through life and I could see how she battled constantly with herself to overcome them. Whether that was family life, trauma and self doubt.

Ash, at times i wanted to shake you and was so frustrated you left Ash at times when she was hurting, however I realised now when I read more and more about your story, you were selfless always wanting the best for others often putting that before your own needs.

I loved this beautiful story Paige Toon did it again broke my heart but then fixed it again a story I will remember in a long time.

🌟 Book Review 🌟

What If I Never Get Over You by Paige Toon

Thank you to Netgalley, Random House UK, Cornerstone and Paige Toon for this amazing arc! All thoughts are my own ❤️💃

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

This book is pure, heart-throbbing magic! 🌸 Imagine a romance that starts with three intense days in Lisbon, where Ellie and Ash feel that rare, undeniable spark—the kind that’s too good to be true. Then, as life happens and years slip by, fate brings them back together in the enchanting Welsh countryside, where Ellie works as a gardener. Paige Toon absolutely nails the setting, and I LOVED every detail about Welsh culture and nature woven into their story—it's lush, romantic, and so beautifully immersive. 🌿💚

Meeting Ellie and Ash as 21-year-olds and then reuniting with them six years later adds this raw, nostalgic layer to the story. You *feel* their chemistry and the unfinished business between them, and it’s everything you’d want in a second-chance romance. That said, the miscommunication trope does rear its head here, and yes, there were moments I was yelling, "JUST SAY IT ALREADY!" But as we dive into Ellie’s past, the reasons behind their guarded hearts make so much more sense.

If you’re a fan of deep, lasting connections and all the tangled feelings that come with growing up and finding love, this book will hit you right in the feels. Perfect for anyone who believes in soulmates, no matter the time or distance!

What If I Never Get Over You by Paige Toon

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Publication Date: 24th April 2025

A huge thank you to @netgalley @paigetoonauthor @penguinrandomhouse @penguinukbooks @cornerstone_press for an Arc copy in return for my honest review.

Ellie and Ash meet at a rooftop bar in Lisbon and instantly form a very deep connection after spending three days together. They part ways with plans to meet in Madrid one week later but Ash never turns up.

Ash didn’t have a phone, Ellie’s had broken and they never even told each other their last names so Ellie spends the next six years wondering why he didn’t meet her and no way to track him down.

Six years later Ellie starts a new job at Berkeley Hall and soon realises that she is working for Ash’s parents. What will happen when they come face to face after all these years?

I was SO excited when I saw that I had been approved for this Arc and I am so grateful for the opportunity to read an early copy!

Paige Toon is one of my all time favourite authors and I really enjoyed this book. I had recently been in a bit of a reading slump but this pulled me right out. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in two days!

I enjoyed how this book was split into three periods of time to show how Ellie and Ash’s relationship coped with the challenges that they faced from the instant connection they made to being reunited so many years later.

This book was an emotional read dealing with grief and challenging family relationships.

I highly recommend a read when it is published next year if you enjoy:
✨second chance romance
✨right person wrong time

This is a gorgeously heartwarming book that completely made me well up with tears. What if I I Never Get Over You is another epic story from Paige Toon that I completely fell head over heels for. Ash and Ellie go through such a turbulent time to find each other again and I love all of their friends. It’s a perfect read. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this.

When it comes to a Paige Toon book I will never read a blurb. I will simply just get lost in her worlds. Paige was the first author I ever actually read, she made me fall in love with reading.

Ellie and Ash, 3 day hot summer romance? Plot twist after plot twist. Heartache, loss, pain, secret rendezvous, friendship and more?! Consider me sold.

This book was incredible (not shocked, it’s Paige) I cried, I laughed, I was angry and I was heartbroken. As with any of Paige’s books there’s twists and turns but there is always a HEA. But you gotta be in pain first. I genuinely believe Paige managed to help one capture the real feelings the main characters feel. Almost as if you truly are the main character within her books. At least that is what I feel everytime I read one. I loved Ash and Ellie, right person wrong time? Right person right time? I don’t know. What I do know is the love shown on page was beautiful to read.
