I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.
2.5* rounded down. I never really warmed to this novel featuring maritime (even though she worked on a lake...?) police officer Rosa. The Zurich setting wasn't as strong as I had hoped it would be and I didn't get much of a feel for the 'maritime' police work either - Sharon Bolton's novels where Lacey works for the Thames River police has a much better sense of place.
Rosa is involved in the investigation into the death of a fertility doctor who has recently been treating her (she does disclose this). I found all the women this doctor had been involved with and the timeline of his last day confusing and I didn't really like him enough to be that bothered who had killed him. There was a fair amount of detail about all the meals Rosa cooked and her relationships with her family, which slowed things down.
Not sure I'd recommend this one.
I really enjoyed this modern thriller! The storyline was good, the pacing was well done, and I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple characters we met throughout the book. I think the overall execution was good! The author did a great job at writing vividly and making it play out like a movie in my mind while reading!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and especially the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review of the book!!
