I enjoyed this book. I liked its humour, the characters, the pranks and what I also really enjoyed is the male characters created by this writer. They are the perfect male: loving, humorous, protecting, caring and gorgeous.
This book is also about friendship. The writer is great at creating the perfect girlfriend who will stick by you to the end even when it's silly and who will be there for you no matter what and no questions asked.

Sarah Adams is one of my favourite authors. Her novels always make me laugh and I always love her characters. Unfortunately, that was not quite the case with The Temporary Roomie. I found the characters immature, especially Jessie, and I think that the pranks the protagonists played on each other went too far and were often unjustified. This book was not the enemies-to-lovers romance I expected and I was disappointed. Luckily, it won’t stop me from reading more Sarah Adams’ novels, especially her When In Rome series, which I adore!

This was my first Sarah Adams book and it was an enjoyable read, but took me a good 20% or so to get into. At first I really disliked the main characters- they were so childish and irritating. I didn’t find their pranks or how they spoke to each other funny. But then as the story progressed and they both grew up a bit it got much better, and their banter became funnier as their connection built. I liked that there wasn’t any unnecessary drama with Jessie’s baby’s father.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.

Quick easy cute and cosy read! I read it in one go. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.

I would have given this story 4 stars but Jessie really irritated me with her childish behaviour and the bullish intent to humiliate Drew in front of all his colleagues as pay back for a perceived slight against her.
I thought their prank war was quite cute for the most part, they were all fairly harmless little things they did to each other and while I personally don't really like pranks, when two people are into them and they're both having fun then that's great. But when you're setting out to humiliate the other person, that's just cruel. And the fact that she was tempted to roll it back but couldn't because it was "all in place," but it wasn't like there was much planning involved, so she could have just not done it. I think it would have been much better for her to stop the prank at the last minute as she realises her feelings for Drew.
I did really love the angst in the book though. Jessie has obviously been hurt and let down a lot in her life so she tries to protect herself the best way she can, so she pushes Drew away at every turn, even though he really is one of the good guys.
I also liked the fact Drew realised what she was doing and was fairly certain of her feelings towards him so he knew he just had to wait her out. He was prepared to wait for her as long as she needed to come around to the idea that he wasn't going anywhere.
As much as I wanted to really love this book, I just couldn't because of Jessie.
Thanks to NetGalley and Headline Eternal for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

I can’t say this book is exactly ground breaking. The main character Jessica is irritating and immature.
However saying that, it was a very easy listen & I’ll be interested to read more by the author soon.

I can absolutely see this working as a movie but as a novel I found it a bit of a struggle to enjoy. Mainly because of Jessie. She treated Drew quite horribly at times (the fake proposal!) and he let her because of how he felt about her. I know it was for entertainment but her character just felt a bit too immature and occasionally mean. Thank you netgalley and the publisher.

Absolutely brilliant book!
I am a big fan of this author and love the writing style!
I cant wait to read more!

I have heard good things about Sarah Adams so I was excited to receive an advance copy of this book however it is hard to comprehend that one main character is a successful doctor and the other is pregnant with a baby on the way as they both act so childishly and stupid. It really put me off as I dislike reading childish characters in serious settings. Also if I had known this was part of a series I would have read the first book before this as I really felt dropped into the story. The writing is decent but this is the first time I've dnf'd cause the character are so dumb and childish.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first in the series. It’s a very cute and wholesome read with lots of flirting which we love to see. I know that this was advertised as enemies to lovers, but I would say it’s more hate to love because Jessie only really hated Drew for his perfection.
Speaking of Drew, he really made the story for me. We love a man who knows how to love and care for the woman he’s with and that’s what made him so perfect. He was there for her and her baby even though she annoyed him with her fake engagement revenge plan. He stuck around and that showed how much he cared for her.
I actually found Jessie quite annoying for about 70% of the book, frustratingly. I didn’t like the way she treated Drew most of the time, like when she humiliated him in front of everyone; it felt like he deserved better at times.
The romance, however, was very sweet. I loved that there wasn’t a third act breakup! I think it would have been great to have seen them talk more openly about their feelings a little earlier in the book, I think it would have connected me more to the story and the characters.
Overall, this felt like a very easygoing rom-com. It was quite light and fluffy but it would have been rest to see more emotional depth to the characters.

I tried so hard to like this story but just found Jessie was quite insufferable as a character. Drew was fine but it just wasn't enough to keep me interested. Also they were quite immature with their pranks
Not for me!

The chemistry between Drew and Jessie was well developed and I enjoyed their prank war, but at times Drew’s persistence in pursuing Jessie presented some potential consent issues even though Jessie was always interested in Drew because she was actually saying no to him and at times he wasn’t taking no for an answer. I admired the Grandfather’s boldness in giving Drew a lie detector test to ensure he was serious about Jessie & I liked that Lucy and Cooper were such loyal & supportive friends. The prank of Jessie pretending Drew had asked her to marry him at the fundraiser was cruel and going much too far and I was surprised he got over something so mean spirited that was intended to humiliate him so quickly even with being in love with Jessie given that he didn’t have the full story at that point as to why she’d acted that way… I didn’t entirely buy that to be honest. I did really enjoy the story but these were some of the weaknesses for me in plotting that made it a four star for me rather than a five star read.

The TemporaryRoomie is not as good as I expected. The beginning of the story, it looks really good then the middle part becomes boring and the last part is flat.
There is no fundamental condition why Drew and Jessie hate each other. With that lack of fundamental, the character is not develop well. Sorry but this was not one of my favourite reads and I probably would not recommend it. Thankyou for the read netgalley.

Thank you to Headline and Netgalley for the ARC of this book!
I am a big Sarah Adam’s fan, having read some of her books before she republished them, but I hadn’t actually read this one. I feel I connected the least to the characters in this book compared to her other works, but once they started becoming more vulnerable as the book went along, it became easier to read.

REVIEW:
What a fun and clever romcom this is! The Temporary Roomie was just as much a treat the second time around, especially with the new expanded version!
Jessie and Drew are stuck in a hilarious, prank-filled enemies-to-lovers situation. Drew, who’s Jessie’s best friend’s brother, has always rubbed her the wrong way, but when Jessie’s unexpected pregnancy and a house mishap leave her needing a place to crash, Drew’s her only option. What follows is a romcom dream, with pranks escalating hilariously and giving way to the sweetest tension.
Jessie, pregnant and trying to keep it together, might come off a little immature, but her vulnerabilities are relatable. The way Sarah Adams handles her journey, keeping it light without being too fluff makes you root for her all the way. And Drew? For a guy with an infuriating streak, he sure steps up in the most tender, heartwarming ways. Their chemistry crackles through every prank, every reluctant glance, and each quietly shared moment.
Though it’s a closed-door romance, it’s brimming with real emotion and sparkle. If you’re a fan of playful, heartfelt romcoms that dig into characters’ growth alongside romance, this one’s a must-read.

Let me start by saying I love Sarah Adams. I’ve read many of her books, and most of them have been absolute hits for me. Practice Makes Perfect is a favourite. It’s also incredibly rare for me to DNF a book, but this time I just couldn’t get past the pettiness and immaturity. The FMC was so annoying, and the MMC wasn’t much better.
That said, I’m still excited for Beg, Borrow, or Steal coming out soon! Here’s hoping it’s a return to form.

As the owner of Honeysuckle Salon, Jessie Barnes usually has everything managed and on track, but now in her third trimester of an unexpected pregnancy, she feels a bit lost and increasingly desperate after faulty plumbing floods her apartment. Unfortunately, her knight in shining armor is actually Dr. Drew Marshall, her best friend’s brother, and he’s also the man she chewed out not too long ago for being a chauvinistic dirtbag.
I loved how the prank war began. Took Drew a minute to realize but once he did, he gave it just as good as he got it. All the gloating and pettiness was perfection 😂 I couldn't decide who to root for with how good they got each other back.
Jessie had been dealt a bad hand with the men in her life. Her grandpa was the only constant. It made sense for her to keep Drew at arm's length especially as starting a relationship while expectant would be tricky.
Drew went out of his way to show her he cared for her. I loved how they both complimented the other. He needed a reprieve from being everyone's go-to fix-it man. She needed a man who would show up for her and her unborn child.
I loved the road they took to get together. This reread reminded me of other things I loved about the story. Her grandpa and his military-style inquisition of Drew, their banter, and Lucy and Cooper from the previous book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This new edition is out now!

You just can’t go wrong with a book by Sarah Adams, you can always guarantee a smile on your face and 10/10 banter.
Thank you for the ARC.

I would like more background on why they disliked each other so much at first... but I do adore happy endings!! Lots of animosity and pranks between them, I do wonder if adults do really prank others so much? I did enjoy the book a lot, it was fast paced and funny.

The temporary roomie is the perfect cosy romance. Best friends brother, forced proximity, slow burn and loathe to love being together all the best tropes and make this another Sarah Adams winner. There’s a great supporting cast, but the focus remains on Jessie and Drew. This is my second read of this book but I enjoyed it just as much as the first and felt myself flying through desperate to get to the next page!
