Sarah Adams is my go to for a wholesome, feel-good story, with sunshine and rainbows. I am always in awe of how she brings intimacy, sexiness, and all of that chemistry between her main characters in a closed-door setting. In The Temporary Roomie, she strikes the perfect balance between a truly fun story, and yearning and longing between Drew and Jess. I had a few laugh out loud moments, and some where I could feel the butterflies.
The bonus scene in this re-pub (2024) was so sweet, and showed how Drew and Jess are managing in their everyday life.
I absolutely loved this book and will recommend it to everyone who wants to escape real life for a little while and fall in love with Jess and Drew.

This was the first Sarah Adams book I've read where the female lead wasn’t overly quirky to the point of being unrealistic. Jessie felt more down-to-earth, though she came across as somewhat immature at times. Some of the things she did to Drew seemed unnecessarily harsh. On the plus side, I found Drew to be more developed in this installment compared to the previous one—he felt more layered and had a stronger personality, which I appreciated. In general, the tension between Jessie and Drew seemed a bit pointless and mainly driven by Jessie’s immaturity. However, the resolution, with them finally getting together, helped redeem the story. I wasn’t a fan of their constant arguing or the pranks, so it was refreshing when that phase of their relationship ended. That said, the conclusion of the book felt incredibly rushed and could’ve been paced better.
