DNFED @ 40%.

After loving The Kiss Curse by Erin Sterling I was really hoping I would adore this one. I initially picked it up last Christmas super excited for a Christmas romance with slight fantastical / magical twists and after picking it up again recently to give it another try, I'm unfortunately hard DNFING it. I feel so sad that this didn't gel with me the way her other novels did - I found it really hard to feel compelled by these characters and struggled in feeling excited to read page by page. I feel like it's absolutely an unpopular opinion and I still do look forward to reading whatever Erin Sterling does next!

This was delicious and a perfect way to complete the series about the Penhallow brothers. Rhys was dashing. Wells was devastating. Bowen, being a mysterious loner, will make you growl. I don’t know why more people aren’t salivating over this series. Erin Sterling has created a lovable world across continents that will make you want to learn a love spell…or two. Her writing is captivating and full of captivating side characters that all peak and keep your curiosity. I can’t say enough good things about this series or Sterling. Beat enjoyed during fall/winter, for full effect, but any season is the right time to add this to your TBR.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this e-ARC!

This story made me go back and read the other two in the series, not something I often do when it's the 3rd in the series but "The Wedding Witch" is the perfect blend of the fun hijinks in the whole series.

I enjoyed this book for the most part but did find that overall I didn't love it as much as the first two books. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters but I felt like their actual relationship was somewhat underdeveloped so when they got together it felt too rushed.

First of all I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for this Arc in exchange for an honest review.

I have loved every book in this series, all of the characters are entertaining and really loveable which makes this series so cozy and an enjoyable read.

I also liked that this book had more of a Christmas vibe than the previous two but still had the witchy spirit.

Bowen Penhallow is a loner and he has a quest and he hires Tamsym Bligh to find items for his quest and the both end up at a wedding and are transported back to 1957 and i love these characters, they are sweet and sexy and really good people.

The story moves at pace.. there are sad bits and happy bits and hot bits! and it was nice to see characters in modern day and 1957.. This is a great book and i think this is my favourite book from the series.

DNF 5% in.

I really enjoyed the ex hex but this one didn't work for me. I couldn't get into this one and I kept putting it down with no real desire to continue. I finally have accepted this one wasn't for me sadly but I can see why it works for others.

Considering when I first started this series, I thought The Ex Hex was just okay… enjoyable but nothing special, this series has fast become one of my all time favourites. I can only conclude that the first time I read The Ex Hex I was in some sort of mood, because upon a re-read, I loved it. This series has just got better and better and better for me, and The Wedding Witch was absolutely fantastic. Definitely my favourite of the series to date.

The Wedding Witch follows the story of Bowen Penhallow, a witch who loves nothing more than being alone with his books. After being sent to a magical wedding by his best friend (who is also a ghost), he and his colleague Tamsyn, get caught up in a time travelling spell and find themselves stuck in the 1950s. They must figure out what they have been sent back to do before the solstice or they may be stuck forever.

I loved every single thing about this book. I have always been partial to a good time travel trope in books, and so that was such a pleasant surprise for me. Time travel and set at Christmas time, my most favourite time of year, meant this book was just utterly perfect for me. I honestly couldn’t put it down. It’s been a hell of a long time since I devoured an entire book in a day, but I did with this one. It was just so good!

The Wedding Witch was fast paced and filled to the brim with magical mayhem and romance. With a little spice sprinkled in, I’m sure this will be the perfect read for anyone who loves anything romantic and magical. I loved every single moment of this book, and I’m left feeling a little bit sad that this is the last book of the series. Erin Sterling wrapped everything for the whole series up perfectly, and I can’t wait to re-read this series again and again and again. A definite must-read for everyone.

Returning to the world of the Jones and Penhallows was long overdue! I absolutely loved the first two in the series and this third book was well worth the wait. I was saving the eARC till now was I wanted to feel like the wintery landscape was around me while reading and it was just the perfect time for this read. Getting to know Bowen and Tamsyn through the is book was really interesting and the time travelling magical aspect was so much fun. Love love loved it! ✨ Thank you very much Erin and Headline Eternal for access to the eARC ✨

I love this series so much and it's such a joy to be back in this world! This was such a brilliant addition to the books and I was very invested in our main couple. The perfect wintery, romantic treat. Highly recommend!

Book three of this series was again fun and easy to read, a nice story for inbetween, though again the conflict was solved a little too easily for my taste and we never get the explanation we are promised. I liked Bowen and Tamsyn and their dynamic was cute, though I'm not a big fan of insta-love. The problem they had to solve was a little random and was magicked away in the end by another deus ex machina moment, but well.. this is a cute, fund and spicy book and enjoyable if you're not expecting too much 😊

This was SUCH a fun read! Thank you to netgalley for an arc of this book.

I haven’t read the other 2 books in the series so I don’t know much about the other 2 couples, but after this I’m very much wanting to read them. I loved the whole premise and although I expected the time travel bit to take up the entire book (whereas it was only around 40% onwards) I still really liked building the relationship & banter between Tamsyn & Bowen. I loved their chemistry, how comfortable they were with each other and how much they joked together, it really felt so real.

I don’t know if everything about Y Seren went over my head but I didn’t fully understand what they did to reverse everything, but I love that they got to see Emerald again and that Declan was alive. It was all in all a very funny, romantic, hot story and would definitely recommend.

Okay so it’s definitely partly my fault cause I went in knowing I enjoyed the first two books but remembering nothing about anything or about the characters? But I did fall in love with Bowen once again and was right in my thinking he would be my favourite of the brothers! And loved Tamsyn too of course!
Generally, I liked the book, and while I wouldn’t want to set this precedent, I actually thought it was too short?!! I just felt that they fell for each other way too quickly and I wanted so much more information on all the side characters. Even towards the end when all is resolved, there’s no actual clear explanation (my little brain couldn’t quite work it out lol) and we learn so much about the potential of Bowen’s dad but don’t even harp back to that later on? I just wanted more!! Definitely not my favourite in the series, but very easily binge-able in one day!

I enjoyed the Ex Hex and loved the cosy, light hearted nature of this book. Loved the time travel element too! Witty and romantic, it is the perfect festive read.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review

This was such a cute read! Having loved the previous 2 books in this series, I couldn’t wait to dive back in 🥰

I read this so fast, I can’t quite believe it! I was immediately sucked into the story and the romance (I’m such a sucker for a text/email exchange in a book and we got BOTH!) so I was invested from the very start

There is no hint of a slow burn which was really refreshing and a bit of a change from what seems to be the new norm in this genre and there were some great comedic moments too!

I totally forgot the backstory from the previous books which complicated things slightly but it wasn’t majorly important to the plot which was really fluffy and lighthearted, the perfect festive read 🎄

4 stars

Thank you so much to Headline Eternal and NetGalley for my e-ARC xx

3.5/5 ⭐️

The third book in the Ex Hex Series follows the last Penhallow brother, Bowen, and Tamsyn, who procures magical artifacts for him. They find themselves together at a Yule wedding, but then things take a turn when they find themselves transported back in time to 1957. They must find out what they were sent back to fix before it is too late to go back.

Overall, there was a lot I liked about this one. I liked the banter between Bowen and Tamsyn a lot. I liked a lot of the side characters in 1957 and some of the tidbits the author threw in to make fun connections to the 2024 setting. However, I felt like a lot of this felt rushed. We got a little banter and setting up of Bowen and Tamsyn before the Yule wedding. However, it was not enough to make me believe that they were in love with each other. I know there were others than what we were given, but before the Yule wedding, it just felt more like lust or crush rather than full on love. I think there could have been more romcom style shenanigans in 1957 to truly build up the will they/won't they for the reader. *SPOILERS AHEAD* Additionally, some storylines just felt like they never got truly explained/resolved. Like what spell was it for Declan?? Did Emerald go to school like she wanted?? Did truly nothing change in Bowen's life when his literal best friend no longer died??? It was a ten year span, not like 1 year, so that is a long time for nothing else to have been different.

The TL:DR of it all is it is a cute, easy read; however, if you will get caught up on inconsistencies and loose threads that are not resolved, this might not be the best read for you.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am just such a fan of these books! It feels like far too long since I read the second in this series, and I was very happy to be back in this world again. I really enjoyed the time travelling element, and the chemistry is always great.

This was a light-hearted and fun holiday read.

I really enjoyed the time-travel aspect of the story, it really helped keep the plot entertaining. I did feel, however, that the 1950s feel was kind of missing. There weren't many period specific nods, and I think it would have really fleshed out the world to have a bit more of a juxtaposition between the modern day and the 50s.

The ending was also a little rushed and, although I was satisfied with it, I felt there was room for a bit more story before we said goodbye to these characters.

I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this as much as the others but I really did! I loved it was set at Christmas for a change and followed the third brother. I also felt this book had a real solid plot through it with elements of time travel to keep you engaged throughout while also having fun characters to keep you reading

A charming, whimsical romance that blends magic, humor, into a delightful reading experience .

Sterling’s writing shines through with wit and heart, capturing the quirky charm of her magical world while grounding the characters in real, relatable emotions. The book’s pacing is perfect, keeping the reader engaged with a balance of light-hearted moments and deeper emotional beats.

While The Wedding Witch is a perfect read for fans of cozy romances and magical realism, it also has a broader appeal for anyone who enjoys a well-written story with emotional stakes, humor, and a dash of magic

After reading the two other books in this series I was a bit surprised that the third one was holiday themed romance and not a Halloween one but I was curious how it would compare. This one is a bit different than its predecessors but nevertheless has a great witchy atmosphere which I enjoyed. It was great to learn more about Bowen and his banter with Tamsyn was great.
I hope Erin Sterling writes more witchy romcoms soon.
