Bella inherits a house in Portugal from her Aunt Flo and leaves her London job to go to check it out. She is a successful career woman who prepares to list out every plus and minus to keeping the house, along with all of the items that need to be fixed. The will that she has been left includes a task to 'make it better' which Bella finds somewhat nebulous. Bella starts to succumb to the charm of oceanfront Portugal and her neighbors. This is the perfect book to read when it's cold and rainy.

What a good book! I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I loved the main characters! They had great chemistry and worked so well together. I loved how the book just flowed. My first by this author but will not be my last!!!

So I’d not read the others of the series this book is a part of but I liked it a lot. It was slow enough that you were invested into the plot line and characters. It’s a cute book for a beach read and we love that

I had high.hopes for this novel based on the synopsis but the story fell short in a number of ways. I would read a borrowed copy but not spend my money on it.

What a lovely and heart-warming read that will have you smiling and enjoying a summer escape to Portugal. This is such an easy read of life, love, holiday and second chances. The setting is gorgeous, the characters are wonderful and the story takes you on a journey right along side of Bella Cresswell.

This book made me smile, made me laugh and made me want to visit Portugal. I love the town, the villa, the people. It is cosy, fun and entertaining and I do like all those things in a good read. A book to read on holiday or if you want to holiday through the pages of a good book. Really enjoyed it.

Thank you NetGalley and Joffe Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

3.5/5

This is one of those slow and cozy romances that is just a simple, feel-good book. And I would definitely say this has a rom-com feel to it as well. And that's always fun.

This was also only about 300 pages, so it was pretty easy to speed through without even trying.

This follows Bella as she tries to restore and organize the house that her aunt (Florence) left for her to inherit in Portugal.

She meets many of the people in the surrounding area, including a love interest for herself!

For some reason, this feels like the type of book you should be reading on your summer vacation. Sitting on a beach somewhere - that's where this book belongs. That is where this book should be read. I don't know why, but that just feels right to me.

This is a part of a series, this is book four, but they are interconnected standalones, so you can read them in whatever order you want!

Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

Bella is left a house in Portugal by her great aunt. Only thing is she can't sell for 6 months and she's got to make it better. She flies out and finds loads of complcations
