I am just getting started with this Social Media Handbook from NetGalley, but I can say honestly it's full of good information for a book reviewer. I am a bit long in the tooth and though I've been on the internet for several decades (ahem) I can always learn something new, as there is always some new website or platform coming along for communication and promotion. Looking forward to a deeper dive.

I was feeling too old for a lot of social media but this guide has actually motivated me to try instagram (and maybe a blog).

It contains lots of useful tips and advice about of all of the main social media platforms - with sections for each including in depth guidance.

Very easy to read and will be a helpful resource for the future.

This guide is packed with a lot of quick tips for getting started reviewing books on social media. These same tips are valuable, whether reviewing an ARC via NetGalley or an older favorite. This guide is best suited for people who have no or only limited experience with social media in general and book reviewing, in particular. For those who do have experience with both of these things, the guide is still helpful for branching out onto other content platforms, but readers with experience won't find any groundbreaking new information.

In addition, some of the information in it has recently become outdated because the guide references hashtags for Instagram, and Meta has disabled the ability to follow hashtags. In addition, this guide was written before the TikTok ban in the United States went into effect, so it still promotes BookTok as a viable option. The guide will need to be updated pending the outcome of the legal case currently before the US Supreme Court in order to stay relevant for US-based reviewers.

Overall, this guide is a quick and easy read that's worth making time for. Make sure to check out the embedded links to expanded content, too!

Considering the glow up of Blue Sky, you might consider adding that microblogging platform in the next update of this guide. I'm glad you added Reddit, even if as an aside. There's a very active poetry community there for those reviewing poetry.

When I review a book which hasn't yet been released, I don't put it up everywhere at once, which means there's a chance of subsequent posts getting forgotten. I will definitely be referencing it once I start my Bookstagram. The only thing I don’t care for is the design. It looks outdated and could really use a refresh.
