Great resource! I’ve been debating to start using social media for reviewing and have been on the fence. This book helps with most of the research and tips for beginners. I feel a bit more confident and might decide to start 🤩.
Thank you to the author, We are Bookish, and NetGalley for this e-ARC.
Incredibly insightful handbook for anyone with a bookish social presence. Loved all the advice and will be implementing it on my profiles and reviews, thank you ♡
This handbook is good for not only new reviewers but seasoned reviewers as well. There are tips and tricks for various social media platforms as well as suggestions for writing reviews.
Incredibly helpful information on creating book reviews! I appreciate the time that went into creating helpful information for readers and reviewers.
A great handbook if you want to start a book reviewing channel. There's lots of tips for instagram, tiktok, blog, youtube etc.
A great social media guide for professional and amateur book reviewers alike! I love how this guide has specific advice for each platform. A goldmine for beginners and some great reminders/new advice for those of us who have been doing this awhile! Thank you, We Are Bookish!
This has been really helpful to read as someone who wants to better their online presence in the reading community. There are some really great suggestions and tips, especially for increasing engagement. I was also under the impression that it was fine to tag authors in reviews that are 4 stars and above but I think I'll take the advice on tagging authors only in 5 star reviews from now on.
Perfect for beginners, NetGalley's Social Media Handbook focuses on creating a bookish account, posting and scheduling content and engaging your followers across various social media platforms with the specific features of each. I'm still new in posting bookish content and I was mainly looking for ways to elevate my Instagram account. Surprisingly, this guide was really just the bare bones basics but I did learn a few new things that I didn't know. There's also several helpful links to articles on the We Are Bookish blog for more in depth information which I highly recommend.
Most valuable to me personally were the photo tips and hashtag tips along with the accompanying blog links, providing insight into things I had never considered before. I'm struggling with Canva so I was hoping to find help there but I was disappointed I didn't find more. I found the section on book reviews less helpful as I feel my book reviewing skills are more advanced. I also found quite a bit of repetition in the advice given for the individual social media platforms even though this handbook was only 35 pages in length.
I still think this guide was well worth the read and I plan to save it for future reference to brush up on what I learned. It also sparked my interest in exploring the blog further. Thank you to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for offering this guide to social media!
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 stars
Loved this! It’s something I’ll continue to reference when doing my reviews and posting on social media!
Thank you making this available to us NetGalley!
super useful, especially the canva section.
I have been trying to use canva but sometimes I am very lost as to how to do things, but this was quite helpful!
This document is very informative and provided a starting point for me to refine my social media strategy. Thank you for the resource!
This is very helpful. I even learned a few tips about the review process, such as lead with a hook. My only issue was some of the font was missing in almost every heading. I read this from the official netgalley android app. Thank you to netgalley for the handbook.
This was a fantastic read! It gives you ideas and some helpful tips. I can't wait to use what I learned on my bookstagram!
NetGalley's Social Media Handbook is a treasure trove of useful information! I primarily posted on Fable, but I just started a #bookstagram! This book is so relevant! I like how they suggest taking photos with props. I primarily read digitally, but it is such a good idea to incorporate props in my photos of my kindle! I also love how they suggest utilizing Canva. I am addicted to Canva and I never thought to add graphics to my photos there! I am so excited to use the tips and tricks in this book to seriously up my social media game.
This was super helpful, although I’ve already created my bookstagram and booktok, it’s nice to refresh my information on it to make sure I’m keeping my content relevant. I would definitely recommend this to others.
As a hopeful bookstagrammer, this was such a helpful resource! I appreciate having it to refer back to and am sure I will again and again.
This was so helpful! I loved how well written this was. It was laid out well. Very easy to understand. Thankful for the information given too.
A helpful social media handbook covering three broad sections: SM (Insta, X, FB), Video (Tiktok & YouTube), and Blog and review platforms.
Also contains general dos and don’ts of SM. Thanks for acknowledging that we don’t need a presence on every platform.
I was relieved to see that my chosen media of choice - Blog and Goodreads - suits my reviewing style (“long-form written content.”) .
This guide contains tips for professionals as well as amateurs. It is more suited to beginners, but there are plenty of tips even for those who have reviewed for longer.
“Engagement is a two-way street” – Agree!
Appreciate the guidelines on accessibility.
Worth a read even if you think you have mastered SM.
I'm always on the lookout for better ways to craft social media posts about the books I read, and this is a great resource!
Super helpful resource. The layout is simple and easy to understand. I’m looking forward to using some of the tips given!
