This book had me on edge from start to finish! A tense, dark and addictive tale with jaw-dropping twists. Definitely recommended.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
The suspense in this book was intense and unrelenting. Every twist heightened the mystery, making for a truly thrilling read.
I found the premise of this book, set around a fertility clinic, really interesting. Instead of the unreliable narrator trope, this felt like it had two reliable narrators with extremely different perspectives, which made it a fun read. There were some great twists. The book has a somewhat open ending, but it works. Things most definitely don’t get tired up in a neat little bow.
Emily is an embryologist, and the best in her field. The clinic she works for has the highest IVF success rate in the country. Things are going well until her ex and his new wife show up, warning IVF and wanting Emily to be the embryologist who works with them.
I liked this book but I couldnt say I loved it. The reason being it was just too predictable. It dragged on in places and I was left disappointed.
I enjoyed this book, it lived up to the description and I managed to read it one sitting as it just kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through! It was a different type of thriller to what I’ve read previously which is definitely a bonus!
I read and am reviewing the ARC version of The Clinic.
While this book was a quick read, I can’t say I was particularly thrilled by it. It was a little too far-fetched for my liking, but the twists and turns keep you reading until the very last page!
Great book. Was up all night reading it. I loved the characters & the storyline. I totally recommend reading this book straight away, the twists and turns are fab. Definitely 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love a @carareinard book and this has been no different. I had high hopes for The Clinic and it didn’t disappoint.
This started off slower than previous novels by this author. However, I enjoyed getting to know the characters and setting. This really helped me feel transported by this one.
This was unpredictable and perfectly plotted. This was brilliant. I enjoyed delving deeper into the IVF element and understanding the process. I devoured this book in just one sitting. I found it highly addictive and didn’t want to stop reading.
This was full of gripping twists and was a book I wasn’t putting down. I’ve read a few books by this author and I’m sure they get better and better. This is brilliant.
This is brilliant and I’ve no hesitation in recommending this one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Cara Reinard and Bookouture for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review.
This definitely was a different type of thriller than I’ve been reading lately. More slow burn with quite a build up of tension and wondering what is going to go wrong next. I really enjoyed it nonetheless.
Emily is an embryologist at a fertility clinic. Due to cancer she is unable to conceive so she works to give others the chance. She has frozen her eggs just in case! When her old boyfriend Ben comes in with his wife Ally it comes as a shock. Although she broke up with him she has never quite got over him. Ally has moved back to Ben's hometown as he has just got a teaching job there & she is not settling well. She has had four miscarriages & is desperate for this to work. The story is told from the perspectives of the two women.
I found this book somewhat predictable & the characters were all pretty dislikeable. I had to read to the end to see if my guesses were correct but overall it wasn't a particularly good fit for me. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.
This was my first book by this author & I will definitely be looking forward to reading more of her books!!!!
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm pretty sure I finished it in record time. I don't think I read anything even remotely similar which is always a plus because suspense books can sound so much alike. I was really curious where the author was taking this book. Unfortunately, I got to the ending and was a bit let down. I feel that this book could have been a home run but it fell flat. I'd say read this book if you want to experience something "different" and don't have triggers in regards to conceiving and miscarriages. Be prepared for an ending that doesn't satisfy.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! This book had me clenching my Kindle and turning the pages so fast! Some parts were slow but for the most part it was a great book! Some people who struggle with IVF may have a hard time reading so approach with caution.
This was a wild thriller and kinda hoping for a sequel.
This thriller has some twists and turns and will keep you wanting more. I could never imagine working in a fertility clinic and my next patient being my ex who the MC is clearly not over.
This was the type of thriller that kept me saying wtf and omg through out reading. Highly recommend
Emily and Ally both love the same man and both want a baby. Emily works in a fertility clinic. What could possibly go wrong! The story was well plotted and revelations felt well-paced.
My favourite quote:
“This momma’s claws are coming out way before the cub."
Secrets presided over the characters in this addictive #psychologicalthriller that kept me quickly reading until the exciting end. I enjoyed this latest book by the clever #CaraReinard.
Thank you, Cara Reinard, Bookouture, Sarah Hardy, & netgalley for my gifted early copy! All opinions are my own.
The Clinic by Cara Reinard ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Holy mother of plot twists. I wasn’t expecting this story to be this twisty! I really enjoyed the morally grey characters and lies/drama this story entailed.
Emily works in a lab helping those who struggle with fertility issues. Her ex, Ben, turns out to be a new patient at the clinic. Ben helped her cover up a crime and now she feels she owes him. Emilys desperate to help him and his wife conceive a child, no matter what it takes
Thank you so much @netgalley Netgalley for giving me this super interesting, bio-infused psychological thriller 🤯🤯 @carareinard it was an amazing read!
Emily is a hard-career driven doctor who left her long term boyfriend,Ben to become a surgical doctor and when she comes across a case of IVF couple , is none other than her ex-boyfriend and his extreme religious wife, Ally.
Being from a science field myself, I felt and understood the process extremely well and the mind tricks played for the development of Emily's Character is extremely great and well written. Ally's character showed the perfect dual nature of hers.
I loved the guessing till the end...but felt a bit dragged at places....overall it was a extremely great read 😁
The Clinic by Cara Reinard was a book that will keep you on your toes. Emily used to have it all and her ex-boyfriend were madly in love and dreamed of starting a family. Then Bang! she found out I couldn’t have children, it broke me.
Now, Emily works in a IVF clinic and she is the country’s most trusted physician. she loves her job at the fertility clinic, and loves giving other couples what she could never have. A child..........But then one day Emily's ex and his new wife walk into my clinic, her heart shatters into small pieces all over again.
But, he’s back. Now, Emily stands there with a syringe trembling in her hand and an impossible decision to help her to have a child of their own! WoW!!!
What would you do?
Emily wanted a baby so bad with him it hurts. Especially as ex knows the dark secrets that haunt her past and these need to remain hidden!…......but has he underestimated how far she will go to get the child she has always dreamed of?
Wow this book was so good I ended up reading it all day, it was so hard to put it down.
I highly recommend it
Big Thank you to NetGalley and especially Bookouture for my Arc.
The Clinic by Cara Reinard.
This was a good read. I liked the cover and blurb of this book. The chapters go between Emily and Ally. I wasn't sure how I felt about the characters. Everyone in my mind was guilty of something. I really thought I knew what was going to happen. Very twisty. I certainly didn't see that coming. That was very surprising.
