The Clinic by Cara Reinard.
This was a good read. I liked the cover and blurb of this book. The chapters go between Emily and Ally. I wasn't sure how I felt about the characters. Everyone in my mind was guilty of something. I really thought I knew what was going to happen. Very twisty. I certainly didn't see that coming. That was very surprising.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

While I would not necessarily consider this to be a psychological thriller in my POV, it did have suspense but felt domestic to me.

This was my 1st book by this author but I was intrigued by the blurb. I understand the reasons behind needing so much fertility talk in the book, it just seemed like too much at times. Also there was a lot of background things that felt off at times. Over all i enjoyed the story and it was just a book to pass the time. I will check out more by this author because she did have good writing.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW.

Review for 'The Clinic' by Cara Reinard.

Well done Cara on an yet another absolutely tension packed and page turning thriller!!!

AN ABSOLUTELY UNPUTDOWNABLE, TENSION FILLED AND SUSPENSEFUL BOOK THAT WILL KEEP YOU UP LATE AT NIGHT UNTIL YOU TURN THE LAST PAGE!! ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS BY THIS INCREDIBLE AUTHOR!!

Wow!!! This book is fantastically written and had me hook, line and sinker from beginning to end. The descriptions were so in depth and vivid that the hair on my arms was standing on the ends and my heart was pounding throughout. The synopsis, title and cover were perfect for the storyline.

YEet ANOTHER HUGE success by the extremely talented Cara Reinard!! I have loved every book I have read by this incredible author and I absolutely loved this unique page turning explosive page turner. I was absolutely absorbed throughout this suspense filled thriller. It is filled with tension, drama, family, suspense, lies, heartache , secrets, decisions and omg the ending!!! It literally has absolutely everything you could ask for in a psychological thriller and much MUCH moreI DID NOT see the twists coming at all!!! Just when I think everything had been worked out and things were settling down BOOM came shocking ending!! A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS Cara!! It is getting harder and harder to shock me but by God you did that over and over and over!!! What an ending!!! One of the most gripping unputdownable psychological books I have read this year!!! You have one hell of a talent and I cannot wait to get hold of your previous and future books. I cannot remember the last time I was so hooked by a book but you managed that big time!!! I loved that the book is told from different perspectives and each of their stories/chapters were perfectly weaved together to show us everything that is going on and how each of the characters are thinking and feeling throughout. It also also multiple timelines so you can see what has happened previously which helps the reader to get an even bigger picture of what is going on but without giving too much away. The storyline is filled with shocks, suspense, tension, deceit, and everything you could ask for in a gripping thriller!!. There was so much going on and it was very fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Cara's fantastic evocative descriptions ensures you are completely absorbed into the storyline with the characters coming to life all around you! This book is absolutely addictive and I read it in one sitting. I absolutely loved the explosive ending that leaves you wanting more! It kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with my heart absolutely pounding throughout especially at the end! I really am looking forward to the next book by this extremely talented author. A gripping, all consuming addictive page turner!!!

Clear your schedule before you start as I read this in one sitting as I could not put it down!! Practically every chapter ended on a cliff hanger so no way could I put it down!! Absolutely hooked!! I would absolutely love to see this turned into a movie!!!!

The characters were all strong and realistic and thanks to Cara's absolutely fantastic writing skills they all come to life when you are turning the pages. My heart went out to Emily although at others she did annoy me. All of the characters were realistic, each with their own personalities, weaknesses and flaws. There were times where I liked, disliked and couldn't start he characters at different points but I won't say who made me feel what as I don't want to give anything away. Now, normally when I dislike a character I struggle to enjoy the storyline but with Cara's fantastic writing skills she has managed to put extremely unlikeable characters in such a fantastic storyline that you can't help but be addicted to the book regardless of how you feel!!! I will stop here as I will give too much away if I say anymore and I really don't want to spoil it for future readers so I wont say anything else and let other readers make their own minds up about how they feel about the characters.. Regardless of whether you love or hate the characters they all worked perfectly together to make this an addictive and gripping storyline!!

Overall a suspense filled, unputdownable and addictive page turning thriller!!

The Clinic by Cara Reinard, when the book starts, we meet Emma. She’s an embryologist, single and a breast cancer survivor celebrating her 35th birthday. Despite the fact that she helps others grow their family. She has yet to do it for herself. When she finds out her ex Ben is coming back to Pennsylvania, the last place she thought she would see him is that her work with his wife. To make matters worse this is the couple she supposed to tell the clinic cannot help them but after coming face-to-face with Allison before Emma knows it she is agreeing to help. knowing her ex been in his wife could possibly become pregnant. She in no way wants it to be before she herself has a baby. She froze eggs years ago before her cancer treatment and decides now is a good time to fertilize them. so on the same day, Allison has her egg retrieval, Emma is also going to fertilize her eggs, but when things don’t turn out the way anyone wanted and do to Emma’s saying something she had no right to say she finds herself in an impossible situation and puts her job on the line to fix it. While all this is going on, Allison is having an emotional affair with someone named Sebastian due to being miserable in Pennsylvania, she talks about running away with him. Emma is also having an emotional affair of sorts with her neighbor Jasper, who is married to and has a daughter with an unstable and abusive alcoholic. so much is happening and soon after both the pregnancy test come in then Allison goes missing and no matter where they search she cannot be found. everyone fears for Allison but no one more than Emma. This is why she takes it upon herself to go and search of her exes wife. I know this is a long review, but there is so much to this book. It seems like the authors books more and more every time she puts out a new book it seems better than the last one and this one is a doozy. I highly recommend this book, if you love thrillers and want to see how someone can create a catastrophe and then wiggled their way out. You definitely need to read this book. I mean wow what a thriller! #NetGalley,#Bookoucher, #CaraRinard, #TheClinic,

Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The Clinic is a simmer read.
Just going through its motions without much excitement.
There’s no real shocks and it’s kind of predictable.
Emily works in a IVF clinic.
She is the country’s most trusted physician.
Her ex boyfriend and new wife come in for treatment.
Emily makes a decision that alters everyone’s life.
A decision that will completely destroy the lives of many……
A tale that comes across as not very thrilling.
The plot is easy to foretell, the characters are moderate and twists could have been turned up a notch.
On the positive side it was a fast paced story and a quick read.

This is my first book by this author, but won't be my last. I loved the plot of this book as it is very personal to me. Loved the twists and turns. Will read more by this author.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC of the book.

I opted to give this a 4 star even though it was a bit closer to 3-3/4 star for me due to some things that were just a bit too unbelievable. It was easy to read, but a lot of the background story seemed far fetched. So many characters making bad decisions.

It brings readers into the dark, morally complex world of fertility treatments, I will say some of the story felt like it dragged a bit and some places. It sometimes bogs down but ultimately adds layers to their characters.

Short chapters mean you just have to read one more ! A sensitive subject dealt with sympathetically made this a book well worth reading.

I liked it. Short chapters with clearly identified POV and timeline make following the story easy. It’s a quick read that will have you reflecting on the choices that advances in Science have afforded us.
The premise of story deals with some sensitive subject matter (IVF, genetic selection, assisted suicide) that might be triggering for some readers.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Cara Reinard for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I was addicted to Cara Reinhard’s writing when I read The Wife in the Window earlier this year. Funny story…I was reading it on the plane on my way to New York for Thrillerfest and when I mentioned to my bestie how much I liked it she said, Oh Cars is here at the event! WHAT??? Sadly I never got to meet her but I was waiting patiently for The Clinic to come out so I could read more of Cara’s twisty tales.
Emily works as an embryologist at a clinic and loves helping woman make their dreams come true. She’s starting to wonder if maybe that’s her dream as well, but either way a busy work life and no potential mate it seems like it’s something for a later date. When her ex and his wife appear at the clinic in need of her help Emily can’t help but wonder what if. What if she’d never broken up with him in college, what if she could get pregnant right along with his wife, what if she could help them have a baby…… Emily goes against her better judgement and decides to help Ben and Ally conceive even though Ally is not a good candidate for IVF. Helping Ben is a way of righting wrongs from years before. If she and Ally can get pregnant at the same time she could stay in their lives, their children could be friends, and she could keep Ben close. Unfortunately Emily does something illegal and will have to right her wrongs but telling the truth will only cost her everything she’s worked her whole life for. The past and the present are mixing and Emily isn’t sure how long she can keep her secrets.

The Clinic is a psychological thriller that brings readers into the dark, morally complex world of fertility treatments, where personal history and professional boundaries collide. This novel, reminiscent of Freida McFadden’s style, will appeal to fans of dark, twisty thrillers with multi-layered, flawed characters and ethically fraught dilemmas.

The story centers around Emily, a dedicated embryologist with a traumatic medical past, who faces a whirlwind of unresolved emotions when her ex, Ben, and his wife, Ally, show up at her clinic seeking IVF help. Emily’s lingering attachment to Ben, combined with her increasing desperation for motherhood, leads her down a path of questionable decisions and manipulation.

Cara Reinard delivers this unraveling tale through a double POV, shifting between Emily and Ally’s perspectives, which adds depth and tension to the story. I’m a fan of dual POVs, and it’s a strong choice here, giving us insights into both women’s motives—even if neither character is especially likable. Despite their flaws, each has understandable, if misguided, beliefs and motivations that drive their actions.

While the pacing starts off a bit slow, it soon gains momentum, and the fast-paced writing style pulls readers in. There’s a significant amount of backstory for both Emily and Ally, which sometimes bogs down the narrative but ultimately adds layers to their characters. The plot twists, while mostly well-placed, felt a bit predictable, and some of the suspenseful reveals might not surprise seasoned thriller readers.

One aspect that might divide readers is the detailed focus on the fertility journey—while it’s crucial to the storyline, it sometimes felt excessive. Still, for readers interested in a thriller that’s both morally complex and grounded in very real personal stakes, The Clinic offers an intriguing, if not entirely unpredictable, ride.

Overall, The Clinic is worth the read for fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy a fast-paced, morally gray narrative with a touch of personal drama.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for sending me a digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

I love medical thrillers and this one fit the bill. There was a balanced amount of science with twists and turns. I liked the characters and especially how the main character grew into her own, beyond her old friends. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author!

:**

This book is a masterclass in psychological suspense—a truly riveting read that left me breathless from start to finish. The complex, emotionally charged story of love, betrayal, and obsession had me on the edge of my seat, unable to put it down. The protagonist’s turmoil and the shocking moral dilemmas she faces are so vividly written that I felt every moment of her anguish and determination.

The narrative twists and turns with secrets that unravel at just the right pace, leaving you desperate to uncover what happens next. The tension is palpable, and the stakes couldn’t be higher as one woman’s longing for motherhood collides with a dangerous secret that could destroy everyone involved. The character dynamics are brilliantly crafted, and the interplay of love, loss, and revenge is nothing short of electrifying.

Fans of Freida McFadden and Shari Lapena will devour this gripping thriller, which expertly weaves psychological depth with jaw-dropping surprises. The explosive climax left me reeling, and the haunting moral questions lingered long after the final page. If you’re looking for a shocking, emotionally charged thriller, this is it. An absolute must-read!

The Clinic is an utterly wild rollercoaster of a thriller that does not ever, for a second, let up on the drama.

@carareinard has created the most perfect popcorn thriller with this book. This is a plot that is serving the most fantastically insane level of drama that is completely addictive to read. I was genuinely, full on shocked more than once by some of the twists in this book and I really, really love when that happens.

Take a lead character with Emily, who is an embryologist whose career has been her life, and who hadn’t thought about having children, until her ex Ben steps into her office for IVF treatment with his new wife Ally. Cue. The. Soap. Opera. Drama.

No spoilers (this book deserves starting it totally blind to expectations, I promise it’s more fun that way), but this book is chaotic and nuts and absolutely fabulous fun to read. A perfect escapism pick for when you need to shut off the world and dive into something that will keep you hooked through the very last pages.

Many thanks to @bookouture for inviting me on the tour! And @carareinard - I cannot wait to see that you cook up next.

Having toured with The Wife at the Window I had a good idea of what to expect from Reinard and her writing. She didn't disappoint.

It's a fast paced thriller set in the world of the fertility clinic where couples come for IVF and the dreams of making their family complete. However, as you'd expect with this being a thriller, not everything is as plain sailing as it looks.

The characters are morally grey and I found I couldn't take to any of them. But, this didn't distract whatsoever from my enjoyment of the book.

If you can suspend disbelief and just go with the flow, The Clinic is a dark and enjoyable thriller and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending both book and author.

This novel is very dark, tence and twisted. I never knew what was coming next and the ending was interesting. 🤔 I really enjoyed reading this book. However, I felt like some parts of the story dragged a little to much. At the end I wanted more of the story.
Overall, I give this book 3.5 rounded up to a 4
Big thanks to Netgalley, Cara Reinard and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy for review.

This book held my attention well. It was an interesting tale of working in a clinic for IVF treatments. Emily is living a decent life, knowing that someday she will create her own baby using the frozen embryo's that she had removed before she underwent cancer several years ago. All was well that is until her ex boyfriend and his wife show up in her folder box in the clinic. That sends Emily into a tail spin, and the things that she does in the following months is crazy. The ending was a little shocking to me, but the book was great.

If you have any work to do please do not start this book. It had me riveted to my seat the whole time. Looking forward to the next book by Cara Reinard.

First, I want to thank Cara Reinard, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!! The Clinic was an incredibly fascinating read as Cara Reinard took us behind the scenes of a couple going through an IVF Journey. She did an amazing job educating us by detailing everything that was happening. Not to mention pulling out the emotions of the characters as well. This was a good read and needs to be put on your TBR List.

I loved how this book was set in Pittsburgh as I am a huge fan of the area as my Sister and her family live there. I had to smile every time she mentioned the Steelers or Cranberry.

Cara mentions the Lifetime Movie Switched at Birth in the book and I remembered that movie fondly as that was one of my fave’s.

Oh I wouldn’t have wanted to be Emily when I found out my next IVF couple was my ex and his new wife!! How awkward that would.

The Clinic is fast paced, addictive, has a lot of twists and turns, etc.
