What could be more fun than a Christmas Wedding? That’s the central focus of Holiday Wedding. I read Holiday Star last year so it was great to be back with Gwen and Caleb seeing them prepare to cement their HEA. However, you don’t need to have read the first book to enjoy this one as the author subtly weaves in enough back story to satisfy everything you need to know. While dual POV, this book is a little different as we see events unfold through the eyes of Doctor Gwen and her best friend Jenny, a reporter. This also lets us enjoy a second romance arc, as Jenny, still hurting over her loathsome ex, eventually gets her man too. Despite the suspense sub plot adding a sinister undertone, this is a lighthearted read and I breezed through it.
Thank you to author Dr. Melissa Dymond and NetGalley for this ARC.
Gwen and Caleb are finally ready to take the leap and start their promising future together. They can't think of a better way than to having their wedding during the Christmas Holiday season! But things go amiss when Caleb's non-serious stalker changes their tune. Caleb getting married is not acceptable and he must pay.
Jenny feels like after her previous slip-up that Caleb and Gwen will never trust her like they did before. She regrets compromising their trust for this dead in journalist job she is stuck in where her ex-boyfriend is inconveniently also her boss. When her and the grumpy Dean (Caleb's head of security and personal body guard) tag along for the wedding shenanigans, she discovers that there is more to Dean, as well as herself.
Key Tropes:
Enemies to lovers ⚔️
One bed 🛌
Grumpy ☀️ Sunshine
He falls first 🫠
Good Girl 💋
Snowed in ❄️
Forced proximity 👩❤️💋👨
Found family 👭
Soulmates 💞
There is a sweet version and a spicy version of this book. I received the spicy version, but I’d hardly consider it spicy in today’s market.
The turn of Dean and Jennys relationship was very touching; I found it more interesting than Gwen and Caleb. I especially liked the moments of compassion and understanding during the PTSD episodes.
I think the book would have been stronger without Gwens POV. I assume I felt less invested in Gwen and Caleb because I didn’t read book one, Holiday Star. Not reading book one did not impact my ability to enjoy Holiday Wedding; I was just more invested in the budding romance versus the committing couple.
Two things I always enjoy about this author’s books is her conscious decision to highlight issues that need more attention and that her romances always have a secondary plot line.
I am absolutely buzzing with excitement! This book is a delightful treasure trove of ideas that perfectly blend the magic of the holiday season with the romance of weddings.
From festive decor that sparkles like the twinkling lights on a Christmas tree to unique themes that embrace the spirit of the season, Dr. Dymond has truly outdone herself. I loved her suggestions for incorporating seasonal flavors into the menu—think spiced cider cocktails and gingerbread-inspired desserts that will leave your guests raving!
And let’s talk about the entertainment! The idea of a holiday-themed photo booth with props like Santa hats and reindeer antlers? Genius! It’s the perfect way to capture those candid moments that everyone will cherish.
What really stood out to me was her emphasis on creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that encourages guests to mingle and celebrate. The tips on cozy seating arrangements and festive games are just what you need to keep the energy high and the laughter flowing.
Holiday Wedding by Dr. Melissa Dymond is the first book I have read by her. It is a fun story that covers mystery, relationships and some adventure. This is a multi faceted holiday story that has a little something for everyone. It also has a dual POV that flows and mixes well.
Thank you netgalley for an arc of Holiday Wedding by Dr. Melissa Dymond
I really enjoyed reading this book! Holiday Wedding is a holiday romance with a mystery subplot. I loved the different POVs of both Gwen and Jenny, and getting to see both of their relationships and stories. This would be a great novel to read this holiday season! It definitely got me in the Christmas state of mind 🎄
I really loved the writing style, and I found myself impressed at the perfect mix of emotion, suspense, comedy, and compassion throughout the book.
There are a few heavy topics in the book, so check the trigger warnings beforehand! There are two versions of the book—one with spicy/open door scenes, and one with closed door scenes/only kissing.
*Holiday Wedding* by Dr. Melissa Dymond is a delightful, cozy holiday read packed with festive charm and classic romance tropes. The story brings together a perfect mix of grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, and enemies-to-lovers—complete with a single bed situation that adds just the right amount of tension. I found the blend of spice and closed-door scenes to be both unique and intriguing, offering a refreshing take on romantic storytelling. Interestingly, I didn’t realize this was a sequel until after I finished the book, but I never felt lost or like I was missing any key plot details. With warm holiday vibes and engaging characters, this book was a joy to read!
This was a wonderful book to start the holiday festivities— I’m in such a holiday mood now! Holiday Wedding is sweet and lighthearted with a touch of emotion. As a lover of thrillers, I really appreciated the mystery within the story and I loved seeing it unravel alongside the characters while maintaining levity. I do wish we got to read more about the mystery and the characters involved (it would be interesting to see the POV of the stalker!). All the characters were likeable— Gwen and Jenny had distinct voices and personalities so it was easy to jump between their POVs. Dr. Dymond does a great job enwrapping readers in the snowy holiday atmosphere (it’s snowing where I live, and I like to think that it was because I read this book lol). If there isn’t enough reason to pick up this book, there’s both a spicy and closed-door version so everyone can feel comfortable with what suits them, and 10% of proceeds are donated to colon cancer research!
It is almost wedding day and a blizzard has hit and a stalker in the shadows. Caleb and Gwen just want to get married but with a blizzard and now one of Caleb's stalkers is on the loose it takes all hands on deck to make sure this wedding goes smoothly. Jenny, Gwen's best friend, and Dean, Caleb's bodyguard, team up to try and find the stalker before they can ruin the wedding. This plot had me on my toes and I did not want to put the book down to see who the stalker could be. The banter between Jenny and Dean had me laughing out loud. I love Jenny's sunshine personality and then mix that with Dean's grumpiness just makes it the best recipe for a romance. This was well written and the details helped with envisioning what was happening the entire time. The spice between the characters was perfect!
Book : Holiday wedding ✨

So, I just finished Holiday Wedding, and OMG, it was EVERYTHING! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book isn’t just about one love story but two! You already know about Collab, the super-famous actor/singer, and Gwen, the amazing doctor, from Holiday Star. Their journey continues here as they navigate wedding planning chaos, packed with sweet moments, challenges, and even some life lessons about love and marriage. 💍✨
But the real surprise? Jenny, Gwen’s best friend, and Dean, Collab’s bodyguard, step into the spotlight with their own love story! Watching their relationship grow with enemies to lovers vibes alongside Collab and Gwen’s is such a treat. ❤️ Both love stories mix together beautifully, making you feel all the emotions while keeping you hooked with plenty of drama and suspense. And let’s not forget the stalker situation that will have me stick to pages 😱📱
What I truly loved about this book is that it’s not just a story—it’s packed with meaningful life lessons. It even touches on serious topics like cancer. 🌟 These moments make the book so much more than just a romance—it’s inspiring and thought-provoking too.
The romance scenes are beautifully written, the suspense is on point, and the twists? OMG, you won’t see them coming! 🌀 The language is easy to follow, so it’s the perfect binge read. If you’re looking for a book that gives you love, thrill, friendship, mystery, and life lessons all in one, Holiday Wedding is the perfect pick! 📚✨
Totally loved it! 10/10 would recommend! 💖
**Holiday Wedding by Melissa Dymond**
In this engaging sequel, the heartwarming story of Gwen and Caleb is picked up as they eagerly prepare for their highly anticipated wedding, scheduled during the festive holiday season. As the date draws closer, the couple faces a series of unexpected challenges that test their resolve. Notably, a powerful snowstorm wreaks havoc on travel plans, resulting in Gwen's flight being delayed while she attempts to return to New York. This not only creates stress and tension but also adds an element of urgency to their wedding preparations.
Moreover, the plot thickens with the presence of Caleb's stalker, which introduces a darker, suspenseful twist. This serious undertone skillfully balances the sweet romance that Gwen and Caleb share, keeping readers on their toes as they navigate the joys and fears of impending nuptials.
Despite being the second book in the series, the narrative stands strong on its own. However, I found that certain storylines and character developments might have been more impactful had I read the first book. The author’s decision to utilize dual points of view from both Gwen and Jenny greatly enhances the storytelling. I thoroughly enjoyed delving into both women’s experiences as they tackled personal dilemmas, romantic relationships, and the whirlwind of a chaotic wedding week.
While Gwen and Caleb's journey is undoubtedly captivating, I must confess to being utterly enchanted by the dynamic between Dean and Jenny! Their interactions are filled with sharp banter and palpable tension, showcasing a delightful grumpy-sunshine dynamic. Although they are not romantically involved, the chemistry between them feels electric, with an engaging enemies-to-lovers vibe that leaves readers curious about their future. Their contrasting personalities—Jenny's cheerful optimism and Dean's seemingly grumpy demeanour—make for a fascinating subplot that enriches the overall narrative.
Holiday Wedding is a suspenseful, swoony, spicy romance mystery that comes with the festive and heart-warming atmosphere of the holiday season!
There are two love story you’ll get to follow: Gwen and Caleb as well as Dean and Jenny.
I wasn’t aware this was part of a series, but I’m glad to say I could enjoy this one just fine without reading the 1st book cause the author did a great job providing enough background information so I didn’t feel lost or miss anything.
As much as I love reading about the sweet and lovey dovey moment between Gwen and Caleb as they overcome each obstacles in planning their perfect wedding, I preferred the sizzling enemies-to-lovers romance of the grumpy and moody Dean and the cheerful sunshine Jenny.
I adore their bantering and I really like the part when they’re stuck together due to an unexpected storm, which kinda forces them to bond!
This book comes in two different version, the sweet and spicy version. I got the spicy version and found the spicy scenes well-written and perfectly balanced, not overtaking the main plot.
Overall, it’s an entertaining and enjoyable read! Such a page turner!
If you’re looking for a holiday read with tropes like grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, and one bed, then you’ll love this one!
⚠️ 𝐓𝐖: sexual content, kidnapping, pregnancy, stalking, gun violence, panic attacks, PTSD, brief mention of death of a parent
a sweet hallmark book with a little added mystery and angst. i enjoyed having a dual pov with two different romances that overlapped, i thought that was a nice twist on the usual pov, though a part of me wishes that i could have seen things from caleb and deans povs as well. but i felt like even though i hadn't read the first book, i understood gwen and celebs relationship perfectly and works well as a stand alone book
It was good to meet Gwen and Caleb again, and follow where Holiday Star left us. And, even better to add Jenny and Dean to this mix.
In this story we have both FMC perspectives (Gwen and Jenny) and it was quite nice to have this dual POV / interconnected stories.
I loved Jenny from the start. To me she was such a sweet woman with a kind heart and she was not trully appreciated. And therefore her issues of not being worthy. Dean was a grump, but even when his grumpiness was at its high, we could see his kind heart! All those walls were just a protective mechanism.
So, here we have one couple getting readdy for their wedding, and so many things just happen.. we wonder will they make it? And the other getting close to one another in the sweetest way!
It was nice seeing their support system, and all that friendship evolve.
And, of course, the cherry on top was the suspense! I did not see that coming. At all! I loved it!
I can't wait for Helen and Teddy's turn!
Tropes:
Dr. x Celebrity
Reporter x Body Guard
Forced Proximity
Found Family
He falls first
Holiday Romance
Mystery
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I adored this book so much! I really enjoyed the pictures that helped introduce me to the characters and allowed me to see the story unfold. I can’t wait for the next book to come out! I’m new to Dr. Melissa Dymond and can’t wait to read more of her work!
Thank you for allowing me to read this arc. I loved every minute of it. I would have liked more jenny and dean time... my favourite couple. So happy they got together.
I thought this was interesting to read. It felt like a mixture of romance and mystery. I thought there was a lot going on and everything just ends abruptly and neatly. I didn't like how he goes off on his fiance and she just takes it?
This book was a fun and suspenseful Like the dual POV and that the book contained story of two couples.
I really enjoyed the storyline in this book. It took a couple of chapters to get used to the change of point of view (One chapter form Jennifer's point of view, the next by Gwen.) Once I got used to actually reading the chapter title (I tend to skip these) It was easier to understand who was telling the story at that point.
I also felt like the book could of ended at several points, but I'd turn the page, and there was another chapter. I did appreciate the extra information in those "extra" chapters though.
Thanks for the story. Good read.
Holiday Wedding is the continuation of the happily ever after in Holiday Star. Gwen and Caleb are getting married! This story follows their trials and tribulations to get to the altar while dodging a stalker, balancing careers, and dealing with stardom during a surprise nor'easter at Christmastime. Can their love truly endure or is it curtains for the happy couple?
I really enjoyed the story because we get TWO storylines in one! Jenny is Gwen’s best friend and she’s got a love/hate relationship with Dean, Caleb’s bodyguard. Jenny made a big mistake in the last book and has been trying to make up for it ever since. Dean’s been secretly enamored with Jenny for years but he’s got some demons of his own and doesn’t want them to touch Jenny. As the two are roped into wedding planning and discovering the identity of the stalker, tensions boil over into an all-out fiery passion that neither one of them are prepared for–but we are!
Everyone is going to need a little patience, a lot of grace, and a Christmas miracle to get through this holiday.
Holiday Wedding has it all - steamy romance, suspense, mystery, surprises, and a whole lot of love. The book can be read as a standalone but I recommend you read Holiday Star to watch Gwen and Caleb’s love story unfold. It’s a joy to watch.
