Gosh, the mutual pining 🤩
This was a dual POV wholesome small town romance centred around two single parents. Manny and Tessa had to navigate through guilt of raising their respective daughters alone, prioritising the needs of their children over their feelings for each other.
And let me tell you that the pining is worth it 👌 This romance felt based in reality to me, with the relationship being quite healthy. I loved Manny, notable his respect towards Tessa and her situation.
This was an easy read as I was excited to see the conclusion.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
whilst you definitely were rooting for the characters, it was a frustrating read mostly due to the naivety of the characters, the incessant back and forth that just wasn't necessary
I just loved this book so much that I couldn’t put it down. I just loved the story and the wonderful characters that it definitely seems an amazing place to live. I really hope that there will be more books in this series.
I would highly recommend reading these books as they are just so heartwarming.
I would like to thank Hera and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.
Such a cute book! Exactly what I needed for a good fall romance moment. Even if the book is a sequel, you can read it without having read the first one in the series (that’s what I did). It reads easy once you’re introduced to all the characters.
Thanks netgalley for the ARC!
ARC Book Review - From Netgalley
The character development is one of the standout features of the book. Each character is well-crafted, with relatable struggles and aspirations that resonate with readers. The protagonist's growth throughout the story is inspiring, showcasing the importance of self-love and the courage to embrace change. The chemistry between the main characters is palpable, and their interactions are filled with both tension and tenderness, making their love story captivating. This is a heartwarming tale that beautifully blends romance with personal growth. Amy True's writing style is engaging and heartfelt, making it a perfect escape for anyone looking for a feel-good story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a mix of romance and the journey of finding oneself in the process of falling in love.
Returning to Ivy Falls was like coming home after a long day at work! After reading the first book, it was lovely to go back to this small town where romance blooms.
Manny and Tessa are the perfect romance pairing, Manny is such a valued support for Tessa, and their chemistry is evident from the beginning.
A short and sweet story of finding love in unexpected places, friends transitioning to lovers. and found family.
:After reading the first book in the Ivy Falls collection, this was a sweet and heartwarming follow-up. It was a joy to delve into Tessa and Manny’s story, watching their friendship gradually blossom into something more, despite the complication of her ex-husband’s return. Their chemistry felt natural, and I found myself rooting for them while also mentally shouting at Tessa’s ex, clearly seeing his true motives. The way that storyline concluded surprised me, as it didn’t play out exactly as I expected, but it kept me engaged.
Overall, this was another delightful read in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am eager to see if there’s more to come from Ivy Falls!
Thank you, NetGalley, for the copy!
This is a great example of a cosy small-town romance and ticks all the boxes: two single parents who have great chemistry, their cute kids, and a whole host of supporting characters in their family, friends and well-meaning townsfolk. It's the second in the Ivy Falls series, and I think it definitely benefits from having read the previous book, as a lot of the relationships are already established and you'd miss out on a lot of context.
I feel like there's nothing hugely groundbreaking, and the story plays out pretty much how you'd expect, but that's not necessarily a bad thing - it's a book that does what it says on the tin, and does it well, a comfort read that left me satisfied and looking forward to further instalments!

This is my first encounter with this author. The book was nice. The writing style appealed to me. Manny and Tessa were a great match, there were some cute, funny and sexy moments - in my opinion very well balanced. The girls were adorable - I usually came across exaggerated behavior of children in romances, but in this book the children were just children so a big plus. If you like small town romances with a friends to lovers and single parents trope, this book is definitely for you. Perfect for lazy autumn evenings 🍂 I recommend it.

This book was such an easy read, I love small-town romances which was what drew me in.
The way Manny cared for Tessa was adorable, would also recommend this book if you enjoy friends to lovers, although I wish it had been longer as I didn't feel as connected with the characters as I would've liked.
