An interesting start to a new fantasy series. If you're familiar with Karen Miller's past work, then you may have an idea of what to expect from The Falcon Throne: solid writing, interesting characters, and some good world-building. If you're looking for a book that reinvents the mould/genre, then this won't meet your needs. If you're looking for a rather typical fantasy novel, though, this might suit. It took me a while to read and finish, because it never really took off.

It's been a long while since this one was published, and I have no idea when the next book is due to be published.

Not my favourite fantasy series, by any stretch of the imagination, but by no means the worst.

This is great for fans who love the Game of Thrones series. If you love big casts with complicate relationships, backstabbing, violence, sex, jealousy, political messiness then definitely give this a read! While the beginning is stronger than the middle or the end, it's still a solid read throughout and if you can get stuck into it then you're in for a real treat!
