I read the first in this series and was really excited for the rest. This is the fourth in the series and the finale. I think it wraps the series up well with the plot amd the characters. A satisfying ending.
The character development throughout the books has been done well and the plot conclusion was gripping wnd fast paced.
I definately think fans or ACOTAR and Serpent and the Wings of Night will love this series.
This wrapped up the series nicely with all villains slain and no major deaths - a good conclusion to the series. I think the character development throughout all 4 books has been well done and the plot conclusion was gripping enough for me to devour this book in a day.
I'm a huge fan of this series as a whole - it's such a rich world with diverse characters, and it's so easy to immerse yourself in it all. I was so excited to get this arc and to see how the story ended!
For me, this book isn't as strong a contender as the other three. I think just the very nature of having so many loose ends to tie up forced this book to be quite long and at times it really felt like I had to push myself to get through some bits. And likewise there were parts that I would have enjoyed more if they were explored further but it was necessary to wrap them up quickly so the book wasn't even longer.
That being said, I did enjoy the ending point for the series and I felt satisfied as a reader with the final conclusion of everything.
I rate this one 3.5 stars, but I've rounded it up to 4 here.
Thank you so much to Little Brown Book Group UK for this arc via NetGalley and for giving me the opportunity to share my honest thoughts on the book.

What a wonderful way to finish an epic series! Tale of the Heart Queen is a fantastic conclusion to Lor’s story as she battles to restore the magic of the Heart Queendom.
‘Tale’ picks up immediately following the heart wrenching cliffhanger delivered at the conclusion of ‘Fate of the Sun King’. And it did not disappoint! Nisha J Tuli is a master of her craft and has spun together a magical world and characters that we love.
Tale of the Heart Queen is book 4 in the Artefacts pf Ouranos series. Book 1 is Trial of the Sun Queen. Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit books for the eARC.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Artefacts of Ouranos ends with a glorious, romantastical fourth book, with the author offering us a 360 degree view of Ouranos, the various kingdoms, and various characterts. We mostly have Lor's pov, but we also see the world from Nadir's father pov now and in the past as well as our beloved and fan-favorite Gabriel! I really enjoyed seeing Ouranos and what has happening through different eyes and mindsets, but it is also what made the book so long.
Lor evolves even more in this book. She finally feels safe and confident in her relationship with Nadir and Nadir's commitment and love. They communicate really well, and they trust each other. She comes to control her immense power but also her legacy as the granddaughter of the infamous Heart Queen and as the current Heart Queen destined to save and resurrect Heart and Heart's magic. Lor truly thrives in this book despite the many hardships. She's a survivor and a woman in love who would do anything for the right cause but also for her own sake and Nadir.
Nadir is our rock. He shows that hot, broody characters and love interests, in general, can love someone unconditionally and possessively without being a jerkface and can put everything on the line for the person they love without complaining or hesitating. Lor is his everything, and while he has morals, it is Lor who is his priority and he shows it in every way. And yes, we get to see the dogs again!!! And also yes, Nadir is HOT and POWERFUL and CLEVER, as usual!
The plot kept the suspense up, and we had various factors that could change anything, and I loved it! The romance is SCORCHING and SIZZLING and lightning-explosive!! hehe
At this point, if you like romantasy, and you haven't read Nisha J. Tuli, then you just got lucky because Nisha has written both Artefacts of Ouranos and the Nightfire quartet, both being outstanding romantasy series! I will read anything that Nisha has written!!
Tale of the Heart Queen by Nisha J. Tuli is a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to the *Artefacts of Ouranos* series, delivering a captivating blend of magic, romance, and high-stakes action.
In this final installment, Lor faces her biggest challenges yet—on the run from the merciless Aurora King and grappling with her own identity as she races to secure the future of her kingdom. The stakes feel as intense as ever, and Tuli brings back the nail-biting trial settings from earlier in the series, making the plot feel both nostalgic and refreshingly urgent. The sense of growth in Lor and the supporting cast is particularly well done; we see her navigate complex decisions that test her sense of self, love, and loyalty. Her relationship with Nadir also reaches a turning point, with their enemies-to-lovers tension bringing just the right amount of romantic heat.
One of the book’s standout elements is the lush world-building. Tuli crafts the realm of Ouranos with vibrant descriptions that are rich but accessible, making the magical settings come alive without bogging down the pace. While some familiar fantasy tropes appear here—fated mates, found family, and epic trials—Tuli manages to give them her own spin, making them feel fresh and engaging. There’s also a fantastic balance of action and tender moments that make the emotional journey feel just as gripping as the physical one.
The book isn’t without its minor flaws. Some of the romantic scenes, though passionate, occasionally feel out of place given the urgency of the characters’ circumstances. A few moments could have benefited from a more subtle approach, but overall, these don’t take away from the story’s allure.
If you’re looking for a romantasy with richly developed characters, tense plot twists, and the perfect mix of magic and romance, *Tale of the Heart Queen* is well worth picking up. A highly recommended read for fans of heart-pounding, character-driven fantasy romance!
This book was an epic and satisfying conclusion to this series. Not only did it take the entire cast of characters on a journey, but it concluded their stories in a brilliant way. I have loved reading this series and can’t wait to see what is next from this author!
This is the final book in the series and ends it in a satisfying way. We’ve followed Lor and her found family/mate/siblings from book one and watched them face deadly challenges and complications. I like how the characters have developed with the novels and how none of them started off “perfect”; they each had areas of self development, and it was lovely to see them grow.
Whereas I didn’t find this read as exciting as the other three, it did scratch those itches; relieving all the questions I had built up over the series. Overall, it’s an exciting series, and nicely rounded off with this final instalment. I will miss these characters!
I binged the first 3 books in this series when I was unwell the other month! I preordered this as soon as I’d finished because I needed the final instalment! When I saw it on NetGalley I asked nicely and it paid off!
So the premise of the story; a long serving prisoner is “rescued” only to find herself in a deathly trial to win the heart of the sun king! All is not as it seems and Lor isn’t that lucky though🤦🏼♀️ over 4 books there’s trials, magic systems, enemies to lovers, fated mates, family, found family, wars and obviously some spice!
I really enjoyed the whole series, it was such a fun easy read. When i say easy I don’t mean that with any offence, I love an easy but well written fantasy! The world building was descriptive but I didn’t feel like I needed a geography degree, that kind of easy to follow fantasy! Lor the FMC was likeable and I was rooting for her from book 1. Nadir made me really dislike him as an MMC in the enemies phase but won me round 🧡
Some of the spice was questionable, like after a near death experience and being separated for days they run into each other in the woods and he has her up against a tree before saying hello but otherwise thats about the only “fault” I have with the book!
I wouldn’t say this story has anything that hasn’t been done before but I just really enjoyed the flow, I rooted for the main characters and hated the bad guys! Overall if you’ve seen my page and read similar stuff I’d say give it a go!
It's the end of an era. The Artefacts of Ouranos series has come to a close, with Lor on the run from the Aurora King (still) and finding herself facing new enemies. But she will do whatever it takes to save those she loves.
This finale was everything I really wanted it to be! There are tense moments, some redemption arcs (and some non-redemption arcs), and happy endings for our characters. It even goes back to the trial roots of the first book.
The character growth that we see everyone go through since the first book is also amazing. Especially Willow! She's maybe one of my favourites.
And, the plots throughout this one really made my heart race as we moved towards the ending for our characters.
Please check out this series if you enjoy:
✨ romantasy
⚔️ slow burn
❤️ spice
✨ high stakes
⚔️ strong character growth
❤️ family bonds and found family
Thank you so much to Little Brown Group and Netgalley for the e-arc! All opinions are my own.
An excellent series finale. The book starts fast-paced with the world and characters reeling after events from the last book, allowing readers to dive right in and feel their feelings.
With all the action we still get comedic breaks with Lor's internal commentary allowing the readers to relate to this wonderful main character.
The book carries on and introduces new perspectives and histories from old and newer villains, allowing the reader to understand the motivations and what is at stake leading up to the final push in the book.
The only issue I have with this book is the ending was almost too happy to be true and some characters had a bit too much plot armour but that being said I would be yelling at the book if it was sadder.
(This is not a spoiler as at the beginning of the book Nisha reassures us in her content warning that this will be a happy ending and the dogs will also be fine).

This is one of my favourite series ever.
And this ending was absolutely perfection. Did I expect to cry, No, but I ended up sobbing like a baby.
This book was just as thrilling as the rest of the series, and I am gutted it has all come to a close.
These characters will forever live in my head, and their journey forever an unforgettable one.
What a fantastic finale to such a great series!
This had everything I wanted and loved from a romantasy. Lor will forever be one of my favourites FMCs ever.
I feel like this tied up all the loose ends of the storyline and I'm upset its over! Will definitely be rereading this soon!!
So grateful to have received an ARC for this and I really enjoyed it.
I am sad this series is over but I’m happy with the ending.
I did find this final book a little harder to read purely because it was longer than the others and it made the pacing seem a bit slower but there was so much going on and multiple storylines being wrapped up which was still fun.
I can't believe this series is over 😭😭😭
I binged this series starting with Trial of the Sun Queen on 9 October and ending Tale of the Heart Queen on 28 October and I have loved every second of it.
I am not giving too much away with this review as this book isn't due to be released until 26 November.
This book picks up exactly where book 3 left off. Lor and Nadir had been captured by Rion and Lor had sent out a massive burst of her energy. Not saying anymore for those who haven't read the previous books yet.
This book is mainly told from the POV's of Lor and Nadir, but we do also get POV's from Gabriel, the former Sun Kings Warder and also some past and present POV's from Rion, the Aurora King.
I loved seeing how Lor and Nadir's relationship went from strength to strength and show how solid they are.
There were a lot more twists and turns but Nisha tied up all the loose ends from all of the books perfectly.
I do re-read books often and this is one of those rare occasions where I have finished the series and want to start it again immediately. This has been my favourite series of 2024.
Thank you to @netgalley and @littlebrownbookgroup_uk for the advance copy.
This is the final novel in the artefacts of Ouranos and it's a wonderful final edition to this series. I've absolutely adored every page of Lor and Nadir's journey from the Sun queen trials to Lor's final journey to retake the throne of Heart and defeat the many enemies they've made on the way. I've got such a soft spot for the two main characters in this series, Nadir is top tier book boyfriend material (but Lor would possibly gouge your eyes out for looking!) The themes of love and forgiveness had me sobbing huge tears in this one. I'm such a big fan of everything Nisha produces, but this series and these characters will stay with me for a long time.
This is a must for anyone who enjoys fantasy romance. I'm gutted to say goodbye to these characters. Thank you so much the publishers and Netgalley for providing an arc in return for an honest review.
5.0/5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I honestly didn’t think a book could make me cry, but Tale of the Heart Queen had me in tears. This story hit so deep. The heartbreak, the history, the way everything finally connected—it’s like each piece fell into place at just the right moment. And wow, LOR’s character development was something else. Watching them grow, struggle, and find strength was powerful and made them feel so real.🤍
Lor and Nadir facing every challenge together—there’s something so raw and beautiful about it. Their relationship felt like a journey in itself, and I couldn’t help but root for them through every twist and every moment of despair.Their story felt like both a battle and a love letter to resilience, and it’s something I’ll carry with me. And Rion’s POV… don’t even get me started. Seeing his heart soften, even if it was almost too late, brought this complex depth to the story. His one good act felt like a small but meaningful redemption, and it left me with all kinds of feelings.
The battles, the plot twists, and the irony of facing yet another trial made it feel epic and personal all at once. This whole book is just… art. It’s one of those stories you’re grateful to experience, even though it hurts to let it go.🥺✨
Thank you, Nisha J Tuli and NetGalley UK, for letting me be part of this journey. This review is as honest as it gets—I’m blown away.
3.75 stars***
The final conclusion to the series and it didn’t disappoint.
Like all of the other books this is a fast paced romantasy and very easy to read and get into!
Some of the twists were a tad predictable but sometimes don’t you just love that???
I think the best part of this is that we get a conclusion for all of the most loved characters and we’re left with no questions
Oh my bleeding gosh this was PERFECT.
❤️ Incredible pacy and high stakes plot that kept me hooked
🫠 The romance and love declarations melted me
😡 The villains had me screaming and literally panicked. I did NOT cope well with my loves being tormented and apart.
⭐ Incredible ending - did not see that coming! Loved it.
Gimme more. Another.
I am so sad this series is over! And what a journey it has been. I am obsessed with the characters and their growth through out the series. This book was full of twists and turns and fully kept me on my toes. A future novella pls 🤞🤞
Thank you to Netgalley for the chance to read and review!!
