I really enjoyed this honest and touching book about the hardship people go through when neurodivergent! Really well written, with lots of feeling. Definitely worth a read!
This is an honest box of a memoir about having a loved one who is neurodivergent, and to go through the diagnosis and treatment stages with them later in life. It is also a reflection on the author's honesty box business, which I found curious.
Many aspects of the author's and her loved ones story resonated with me - we experienced some of the waiting lists ourselves for a younger person, and we know adults who are on the huge waiting lists.
I found the opening and first dozens of pages engaging and forgot that I was reading a non-fiction book!
I also checked out the author's Substack, and was able to picture her life in Devon a bit better.
There is probably more to say about this memoir. It will all come back to me when I reflect on it in a week or so, and I will save those notes for my reviews on retail sites and GoodReads.
It is amazing to read about what it looks like living with a neurodivergent one.
