This book was the first I have picked up by this author. It gives a similar feel to Mary Kubica and Megan Lally's books that I have read. I listened to this as an audiobook and the different POVs were well done and frustrating in a good way! You have the POC of the mother of the missing girl as well as from two teenage girls. You have a very interesting best friend dynamic and found myself wanting to shake the two girls to open their eyes to their surroundings.
Without giving spoilers, there were a lot of twists and turns that I did not expect along the way, right up to the last few minutes!
Overall, I would recommend this book and think it is a great easy read that is easy to follow, especially as an audiobook.
Good storyline that definitely has you thinking who whats happened and what can happen to friendships over time
Good listen
I couldn’t help but feel the maternal instinct within me wanting to scream at several people while reading this. Honestly, I’m not sure how Tracy managed to remain so composed throughout the entire story. It had me hooked from the very beginning, and then that unexpected twist! Wow!
Wasn’t keen at all on this audiobook. The narrator’s style was jarring and it took me too long to get who was who in my head.
Wow! What a gripping thriller! Had me hooked from beginning to end. Relatable characters and descriptive word choices help the reader be involved.
Narration was fantastic!
This wasn't what I expected when I started reading - and that's neither good nor bad. It took me awhile to get into the rhythm of the book - perhaps because it was the audio version. There were lots of surprises along the way - in fact it felt like the author just threw a lot of thing in to see if they would work. I found the hashtags annoying.
Though this isn't a favorite, it was an entertaining enough book with some wild twists.
Tracey is a little nervous about her daughter, Willow, and Willow's best friend Amelia taking huge road trip, but the girls are close and Tracey refurbished the bus they'll be using herself. It's a safe trip through mostly populated, so she's comfortable with it..... until the bus turns up at her door without her daughter.
I really enjoyed this one! At times I thought the whole main-character-is-a-writer thing was overplayed, but in the end it came together nicely, and I understood why that was the chosen profession. This one built well and packed a bunch of punches at the end and while I predicted some of the big twist, there was an element I didn't see coming and I really enjoyed that. I would definitely read more from this author and I think this book in particular would go over well with anyone who enjoys the van life stories, dual POVs, or big twists so definitely a wide audience!
This is a gripping story, with a turn after turn.
The book is a quick read, not because it is short, but because it bothers you until you finish it. It is a true struggle to lay the book down.
The story line is interesting, it is evolving and the tension is building. The story is always pointed at the direction of solving the mystery and I can honestly say that I enjoyed every part of it.
Girls trip, BFFs, tragedy, books, SPOILER!!!! a forbidden relationship SPOILER!!!!! all in one, but with some extras.
Willow, Amilia, Luke, Tracy, etc everyone has a role in this tragedy and is still part of the solution.
I loved the narration, it was professional, yet artistic and adding to the tension, congrats!
Wow. I enjoyed this unique premise and circumstances of this psychological thriller ! I certainly wasn’t prepared for the twist at the end.
The events playing out are like the ones in the book being written and the aspect of Instagram posts being a part of the book are an added bonus!
Narration by Patricia Rodriguez is great!
Thank you, Ellery Kane, Bookouture, Bookouture Audio, & netgalley, for my copy! All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook, the narrators did a great job and the story is really gripping with a major plot twist you won’t expect!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for letting me review this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I did not see that coming.
2 girls embark on an adventure to Niagara Falls to do research for a book the 19 year olds are writing together. Only one comes home.
Both girls have an impressive future ahead of them and this book is promising to be a hit. If they can only get the ending worked out. Although they have graduated and will start at Northwestern in the fall, their high school English teacher is helping them to make connections to get the story out to the world. But something has gone awry. Only one girl returns home. Separately from the Schoolie that they were traveling in. And she isn’t talking.
I really struggled to get into this one. I had the audiobook and I was very confused about whose perspectives the chapters were written in. I don’t know if it would have been easier to catch in written form. I restarted the audio 3 times.
However, once the book picked up pace and I got used to the characters I was able to stay invested. I still have unanswered questions.
I don’t believe I’ve listened to a book narrated by Patricia Rodriguez. I couldn’t help but wonder if she had a sore throat when reading this. Her voice was gravely. When it first started I was hoping it was her way of presenting a character. But as I mentioned earlier, I couldn’t catch the difference in character voice until I was further along in the book (hence starting over 3 times).
That all being said, I did not hate the book. It was a good story line and I did not see the twist before it hit. I knew something was coming. But that wasn’t at all what I thought.
I received this audiobook as an ARC in exchange for my honest feedback. Thank you to NetGalley, Ellery A. Kane, Bookouture Audio and Patricia Rodriguez.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review
This was goooood, I was getting close to the end and I thought oh it’s so obvious from so long ago but damn that twist is still shocking me. That was really really well done. It was a bit of an explained ending rather than figuring it out with the story but I don’t think that affected how much I liked it at all.
I'll be publishing my review on Goodreads and StoryGraph 21st October and on Tik tok most likely will add to a monthly wrap up post with review the beginning of November.
This was another Ellery Kane book that was fun to read and then just goes to the completely bonkers in the end. The hashtags got a bit annoying and reminded me of why I stay of Twitter and Instagram most of the time. Willow goes missing on a roadtrip in a school bus that her mom bought and fixed up for her. Yeah, mom is very involved. She is the kind of mom that wants to be the “cool mom.” The “we’re more like friends” mom. The living through her kid mom. For the most part she is very cringy. And not just in her relationship with her daughter. All of her relationships give that ick feeling.
The ending is satisfying even in its unrealness. Take a quiet day and use read the whole thing. It’ll be fun.
OMG! that plot twist was mind blowing! Absolutely loved this audiobook it had me guessing until the very end! I loved that it gives you all the details with past and present point of views. If you love books by Freida Mcfadden this one is for you! It was my first time hearing the narrator and she did a great job !
I will say, in the beginning, I wasn’t sure if I was going to get hooked or not, but then it clicked around Chapter 6 -7. Audiobook was good.
Certainly a binge worthy novel; it will have you thinking, it gives Gone Girl. Wait, no, it gives art imitating reality... it’s got to be *this person*... nope - *twist*. It kept me on my toes!
Narration of the girls can be a little insufferable, but moved past it.
I want to thank NetGalley, Ellery A. Kane, and Bookouture Audio for the audiobook. Patricia Rodriguez did a fantastic job with the narration. This thrilling story is packed with unexpected twists, and the ending completely took me by surprise!
Wow! Another really good one!
Willow and Amelia decide to take a road trip before heading off to college. They’ve been friends since they were little. So this is a big trip for them! By themselves! And, while traveling, they’re writing a book about a road trip! 🤯. It’s going to be so much fun!!
BUT…one night, well before they are due back, Willow’s Mom hears a knock on the door and a guy is standing there with her daughter’s keys…but no Willow. When she asks him where the girls are, he just stares at her. Finally he says he was paid to bring the van/bus back. That’s it.
Well, who paid you? She finds out it was Amelia’s mother. She runs over to confront her (they’re neighbors), but she has no idea what she’s talking about! And then, Amelia comes home! WITHOUT Willow!! ???
And so it begins…
🛑🛑 Stop here if you don’t want to know more! 🛑🛑
As Tracy (Willow’s Mom) scrambles to put the pieces together, we start to form ideas… But just as quickly, the rug is pulled out from under us! 😮
She gets the police involved…and then the internet…and then reporters. Anyone who will listen and help. And the whole time, suspicions are high as to ‘who did this’ and ‘where is Willow?’ There’s even a nighttime vigil being held, in hopes that SOMEONE…ANYONE will come forward with some information… But, there’s nothing…
When the girls’ HS teacher gets involved it adds a whole new twist to the story… what’s going on here? Is he hitting on Tracy?
And then Tracy’s ex, a cop, also gets involved.
I can tell you that I had a hundred guesses as to ‘who did it’ and what happened….THEY WERE ALL WRONG!
This one had me guessing until the end.
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

This book grabbed my attention from the get-go with its cool premise: two childhood pals hitting the road in a revamped school bus. But when the bus rolls back into town empty, it sparks a whole bunch of questions, mysteries, and secrets. The story kept me hooked, especially with the skilled narrator who juggles all the characters effortlessly. We get to see things from the girls' viewpoints during their travels and even before they set off, plus insights from their moms, an investigator, a famous college professor, an ex, and more. The social media buzz adds another layer since the girls are sharing their adventure online while trying to write a book together. The mom of the missing daughter is on an emotional roller-coaster, desperately piecing together clues as she gets caught up in the chaos. There are plenty of twists—some surprising, some not—but I was always eager to see what would happen next. The ending caught me off guard and was actually quite impressive.
Thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this Audiobook.
My Missing Daughter by Ellery Kane 🎧
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
So, I picked this up on NetGalley, I've read previous books by this author and ended up loving them. So ai decided this one sounded right up my alley.
When two young promising authors set off on a road trip to fine-tune and research for their upcoming release, only one girl returns..the scary part- the disappearance is easily reminiscent of the book they are writing.
What lengths would you go to, to prove your daughter's friend is responsible
For her disappearance, since she's home, and your baby isn't?
I thought this was such a great premise, and I really wish I read it- I was so bothered by the audio. I feel like it put a damper on my entire experience of this one. I do love the author. And I did love the story! I would highly suggest picking up a physical copy/ Kindle and giving it a read!

Willow & Amelia go on a road trip to write a novel but their bus is returned to their mother's without the girls. Their mother's Tracy & Candice who are rightly worried. Full of twists and a good cast of characters. A well plotted novel that keeps you hooked. Patricia Rodriguez does an excellent job of narrating this book. Thanks to Bookoutre Audio and Netgalley for this review copy.
