This was a good book, I liked the connection between the two main characters, especially the romantic feelings for each other that they had, despite the avoidance to discuss them with each other. The detailed description of Victorian London gave great imagery to the story.

I went in completely blind - it's a standalone portion of another series by the author, and I wanted to see if I would be able to follow along. It was fine as a standalone, but sometimes I felt like I would have connected better if I had read other books in that series.

Overall I enjoyed the storyline, however I did find the plot a bit predictable.

This book is described as a “standalone” part of the Fae of the Crystal Palace series, however I did feel at times that I’d been dropped into the middle of an ongoing story and that I was missing something. Maybe it would have been beneficial to read other books in the series for context/backstory.

Friends lovers isn’t my usual preferred trope however I think that the emotions Finn feels especially are really well portrayed.

I thought the friendship and uncertainty between Ivy and Finn was endearing, and would love to see where the author takes their story in future books.

This was another winner in the Fae of the Crystal Palace series, it uses the overall world building that I was looking for based on the previous book. I enjoyed the overall romance element and how it worked in this universe. Kylie Fennell has that element that I wanted and enjoyed overall in the fantasy world.

Prepare to be swept away by The Entangled, a spellbinding tale of romance, magic, and adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Set in the enchanting yet treacherous world of Victorian London, where fog veils secrets and the air hums with unseen magic, the story follows Ivy, a brilliant fae whose unique ability to blend science with sorcery sets her apart. Alongside Finn, a fierce and protective fae Ranger, Ivy embarks on a dangerous mission to retrieve stolen artifacts from the Great Exhibition. But as the plot thickens, what begins as a simple mission soon unravels into a perilous journey fraught with danger, deception, and forbidden desire.
At the heart of The Entangled is the electric dynamic between Ivy and Finn. Their partnership is intense and complicated—marked by unspoken feelings, hidden scars, and a deep connection neither is fully ready to confront.
What truly makes this story shine is the intricate world-building and the thrilling blend of magic and historical detail. Victorian London comes alive with grand exhibitions, shadowy backstreets, and a mysterious underworld of fae magic. The author expertly balances historical references with fantastical elements, making this a setting as rich and captivating as the characters themselves.
The Entangled is perfect for both new readers and those familiar with the world. It combines the sweeping historical romance with the magical allure of the fae, wrapped up in a thrilling adventure with a sprinkle of mystery. You don’t need to have read the previous books to be thoroughly enchanted by Ivy and Finn’s story.
