Boss with Benefits is written by Lucy King and the second in the Mills & Boon Modern mini series Billion Dollar Bet where the heros have taken a net to remain celibate over the summer.

Adam Courtney, the billionaire CEO, must remain celibate in order to keep hold of an acquisition that helps him lessen the guilt of his mother’s death. He is managing to remain so until he meets Ella Green, walks back in to his life to audit his firm. They have had a passionate encounter in the past and he knows how difficult it will be to prevent a repeat of this. Ella is also determined that there will not be repeat performance. She has been burnt both professionally and socially in the past and will not risk her career for mere desire. Can the pair remain aloof or will they succumb to their red hot chemistry?

I did not enjoy this book. It was only a short read so that made it slightly easier! A shame as I normally enjoy the author’s novels but this one just seemed forced.

This is the second book in the series but is totally standalone with one tiny paragraph of overlap twin book one and book 2. Ella is an excellent lead character. She has guts and intelligence and tries her life from the front. She’s overcoming a mistake that she ended up taking the blame for and so remains cautious in trusting people and also in love. Adam is a bit more gung ho and brutish and yet can be softened by Ella. The book is a romance classic with two people pretending that they mean nothing to each other and waiting to see who might crack first. Things are a classic for a reason though. This is a good read which takes you out of the day today and into the heat and blue skies and sexy times.

A really quick read. NetGalley kindly gave me this book to read and review and I must say it went fast!
This novella had me shaking my head. If both people are single why are they calling it an affair? I also think the FMC deserves better than she gives herself credit for and we should have heard what the MMC was saying to her on the plane.
Easy read though, 2.5 stars.

The second in a series about three guys who have a bet which means thet have to stay celibate.
This was a perfectly acceptable story as one would expect from theis author but it lacked the extra something which she normally brings to her books - a real sense of romantic excitement. It’s fun, spicy and funny in places. A good read.
