All these contents for an exciting, fun and enjoyable experience.
I absolutely adore Sheryl Browne so made no hesitation in instantly adding this book to the ever toppling TBR. This was superb from beginning to end. Sheryl keeps getting better and better with every book.
This was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. One More Lie is fast paced, addictive and completely unpredictable. I was hooked from the beginning and unwilling to put this down.
This is a book full of twists and turns. I loved the rollercoaster read and the interesting mix of characters. This was brilliant as I had expected from Browne.
This has been a satisfying read, I loved delving deeper into the characters and seeing how events unfold. I absolutely loved this book, I’ve read most of Browne’s books and I can safely say that they just keep getting better and better. If you’re looking for an unpredictable rollercoaster read which will keep you hooked. This is a book for you.

This was another gripping read from
This author told across dual time lines this story was full of twists and turns and secrets and lies.
This story kept me on my toes and Kept me guessing until the end. . I have said this before and will say it again this authors books would make good tv dramatisations.
Look forward to seeing what this author writes next.
WOW!!! I was guessing, guessing and guessing again and somewhere in my guessing, my heart rate quickened, and the suspense built. Due to a bad cold, it took me a while to get into the story, but once my mind was clear, I was reeled in Hook, Line and Sinker.
Some fabulous writing and characters. The Whodunnit mystery that takes flight years after the actual loss of a Uni friend Pippa.
We are invited into flashbacks and present-day musings of Becky, Pippa, Emilia, Jack, Richie and co.
The main perspective is Becky’s who is wracked with guilt after the recent death of a friend, that triggers memories of a long-lost friend at a Beach Party.
Becky is married to Richie, Tom to Emilia, marriages start crumbling, bodies start stacking and the truth? It comes full circle twice at the speed of light. A must readable, page-turner by a now must-read author who is new to me.
If you’re up for many thickening plots and a gorgeous dog, you must read this book.

Big Thank you to NetGalley and especially Bookouture for my ARC. X
This was a suspenseful and twisty thriller, with lots of suspects. It was a bit sad, too, as the deceased young woman just wanted to fit in and have friends.
If you enjoy psychological suspense, I’m sure you’d love to check this one out!
Here’s the scoop:
Book Description:
On the last day of school, my friends and I gather on the beach to celebrate the long summer ahead. Sipping cans of warm cider and watching campfire embers dance into the inky sky, I don’t think I’ve ever been happier. Until a scream pierces the night. The next morning, we find shy newcomer Pippa on the beach, sandflies gathering on her lifeless body…
I told the police I didn’t see anything that night. I was young, scared, and full of guilt. I heard my friends telling the same story. It’s a lie that has haunted me ever since.
Now, twenty years later, on the anniversary of Pippa’s death, another one of our group is found dead. As we gather once again to say goodbye, I know it can’t be a coincidence. I look around at the tear-stained faces of my old school friends – people I thought I could trust – a protective hand on my growing belly. The police are asking questions again, and I have an impossible decision to make.
Do I tell one more lie, or confront my worst nightmare; that one of us is a killer, and one of us is next…

💬 I love @bookouture book tours as they are an absolute treasure. ONE MORE LIE is just that. I read this book in one day as I found it so difficult to put down.
.
The story is so suspenseful and it threw me off as I fully trusted one of the characters until I didn't anymore. Most of them are quite unpleasant but very realistic and relatable to people we might know and this made the book quite easy to read
.
So far this is for sure my favourite book by Sheryl Browne although I do need to read them all so I can make a fair opinion. She has 16 books out and I read about 7 so far
.
I have to thank @bookouture for this opportunity as it was such a rollercoaster to go through this book. It is captivating and tense, with turns at every chapter
This is a twisty storyline that really builds the suspense and the urge to turn the pages. You are suspicious of everyone without really knowing why. The characters are both likeable and dislikable but that only adds to the story. It moves at a steady pace and reveals just enough. I enjoyed this one and would recommend.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to listen and review #OneMoreLie
3.5 stars, rounded down.
20 years ago, Pippa goes to a university beach party. She is a newcomer and doesn't fit in with the group. The next morning, she is found dead. Fast forward to the present. The group is brought back together by another tragedy which threatens to dig up the secrets of the past.
I have also read We All Keep Secrets and Keep Me Safe by Sheryl Browne. I much preferred those two novels to One More Lie. One More Lie is still a good read, but lacks the same suspense and twist and turns that the other two novels had.
Most importantly, if you have read any of these novels that start with "X number of years ago, Y was found dead. In the present, the group is forced back together by another tragedy". I think this genre is SO overdone and super predictable. If you have read any of these types of thrillers, this novel will be very predictable for you. It isn't a bad read, but there was nothing new or fresh offered. It followed the exact same premise as all of these kinds of books. For these reasons, I give this book a 3.5/5.
Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
During their university years, Becky Richie, Emelia and Tom hung around together. One day, they all went camping at the beach. Another gal, Pippa, went along with them. She was very shy and hoping to fit in with their group. But late that night when they were all supposed to be in their tents, they hear a scream and go looking for Pippa who was the only one missing. They finally find her body washed up on the beach. Twenty years later, another of their group has died supposedly by suicide.
Becky and Richie are married as are Emelia and Tom. They have stayed good friends but Becky feels guilt at Pippa’s death and now mourns another. But they can’t help but wonder if the women could have been murdered and if it’s one of their own.
This book builds with lots of tension so the reader has a hard time deciding who is telling the truth or are they lying. I felt drawn to one character after another certain that they were the killer, but the next chapter drew me toward another character. So, it was with a huge surprise when I learned who the killer really was. Come read for yourself and see if you can figure out the answer. Enjoy!

Browne is back with another one of those 'it's my favourite book of hers to date' thrillers.
Told across dual timelines, One More Lie is a fast paced, twisty thriller that will have you flying through the pages in anticipation of what's to come.
They say that revenge is a dish best served cold, but who exactly will be getting their just desserts?
It comes with a great cast of characters, all harbouring secrets and lies.
As always I absolutely loved it. Here's to my next favourite.
When a group of friends were celebrating the last day of school on the beach, Pippa ran away from the campfire and was found dead the next day. Everyone said they didn't know what happened, though one of the group was lying. Twenty years later, one of the group is now dead. Is one of them the killer?
Becky had always felt terrible for how her group treated Pippa in college. Emilia had been catty and selfish and tried to hang onto her boyfriend Tom, who tended to flirt or cheat. Becky and Richie were a couple, and their other friend Jodie was present at the bonfire party. Gathered at Jodie's funeral, the guilt plagues Becky the most. The others are too ready to forget what happened and tell her she's paranoid. But there's an intruder in her home and Emilia's, fires, and other deaths that are suspicious. With all of this mounting up, Becky is frightened and reaches out to Jack, Jodie's therapist. She doesn't know who to trust anymore, and everything seems suspect.
As tension rises in the novel, the two couples say negative things about each other and the roles they each had in their lives over the years. We see from their perspectives what's going on, or what they think is going on. Suspicions make them see the worst in each other, escalating the emotional damage. There are questions that the reader has all along because they aren't always pleasant people. The final third of the book escalates even further, and there are still new revelations right up until the very end. It was a gripping story that kept me locked into the book through to the last page.
This is the full story (3.5 stars rounded down)
It's possible that you may have seen the posts on my social media pages earlier today, which I displayed for my stop on the blog tour organised by Bookouture. In these, I said that One More Lie contains everything that Sheryl Browne excels at. Let's be clear: I wasn't lying.
Sheryl is wonderful at telling a story from multiple points of view, and also at transporting the reader to a whole host of different settings. In this case, we are taken to a beach on a summer's night, where a group of young friends are celebrating the end of their school days. The next morning, shy newcomer Pippa is found dead on the sand.
Then we are transported forward 20 years to where the same people, still friends, are at the funeral of another one of their group. Memories resurface and Becky wants nothing more than to talk about what happened on the night Pippa died. But why do none of her friends want to breach the subject? Is it innocence, and having moved on with their lives? Or is it guilt?
The writing is as strong as ever, and I found my mind changing as often as that of the main character, Becky, as to what really happened on that fateful night all those years ago, and whether her husband or her close friends were innocent or not. And a few interspersed chapters that take us back into the past and give a few tantalising clues only caused me to keep changing my mind all the more.
Add that the prologue is great and that I loved the final chapter, and so far, so good. The problem is that, whilst all of the above is the truth, it's not the whole truth.
Where this book fell down for me is best explained in the author's note at the end. Sheryl writes that she set out to explore issues that were personal to her, and to pose the question: can we forgive a likeable character who does something that is morally wrong? The real problem for me though was that I felt that what are essentially those same issues are explored better in two of the same author's earlier books: Do I Really Know You and My Husband's House. And I can't really answer the question because - with the exception of the unfortunate Pippa, who I really felt I understood and who my heart went out to - I didn't really find any of the characters likeable. Becky, in particular, seemed to be very naive and Emilia very selfish. Meanwhile, I wonder if at least one of the male friends, Richie and Tom should have been given their own narrative, because I struggled to relate to either of them having only seen them described by two women that I disliked.
A couple of other, more minor criticisms are that I couldn't quite understand the point of making Becky pregnant - it's a part of the story that doesn't really develop - and that I wasn't convinced by the solution offered. And, whilst I understand that it's quite natural for the same thoughts to go round and round in someone's head, and need to be written on the pages more than once to be able to convey this, it's probably my dislike of the characters that made me find parts of the book a bit repetitive.
It's difficult for me to come to a conclusion on One More Lie, which is really why I've spent the whole of this review writing about it instead of tacking it on to the end of a recount of some autumnal dog walks. (Normal service will be resumed soon.) On the one hand, there's no doubt whatsoever that it's well-written, that I read it easily, and that I enjoyed it. If you're a fan of Sheryl Browne - and I love her as a person as well as an author - there should easily be enough to keep you satisfied.
But, if this had been my first ever read of a book by this author, and if I'd known nothing about her, would it have been enough to make me really, really want to read some of her others? If I'm to write a truly honest review, and leave all preconceptions and friendships aside, I have to say that I'm not sure it would.
My summary, then, is this. If Sheryl Browne is a new-to-you author, then One More Lie is absolutely worth a read. But I'd suggest reading the aforementioned Do I Really Know You or My Husband's House first.
My thanks to Netgalley for the digital ARC of this book, and to Bookouture for including me on the blog tour. With their agreement, I will post this review on my blog and on Netgalley only, with all public posts limited to a promotional spotlight.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.
This is a tough one. The story is good, no doubt, but it’s similar to a lot of others with the same plot (no reinventing the wheel-but that’s fine). My issue with the book though, the characters were all increasingly terribly annoying and I couldn’t muster up liking any of them. By about midway through I was noticing a ton of repeating the same things over and over again which drove me nuts. Then there were a few plot holes / discrepancies that shouldn’t have occurred, to the point I’d re-read the page before to make sure I wasn’t making up the mistakes, which takes you out of the story. I did want to (and did) finish the book but mostly to make sure I was right in my predictions. The epilogue was pretty vague and could have just been removed if that’s all there was to it.
Thank you to Sheryl Browne, Bookouture, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I tried. I really did. But at 15% I had to throw the towel in and DNF. I don't know if it was the writing or the fact that I just didn't like Becky
I love a good psychological thriller and One More Lie has many of the ingredients to be just that. It was a compelling read and once I started I wanted to know how it ended. The good thing about a digital copy is that you can’t (easily) flip to the end so no spoilers for me. The characters are just irritating enough to have you frustrated but not so much that you don’t care what happens. The tension is there from the beginning and it doesn’t really let up right the way through. At times I felt like I was watching in slow motion wanting to tell them to stop, can’t they see the danger they’re in! I love that. There is nothing you can do but read on and know that whatever happens you are safe and sound, just a spectator in the chaos and danger that surrounds them. I enjoyed the way the facts about what happened all those years ago are drip fed to you as the story moves on. An incident that has haunted a group of friends for years is finally catching up with them. Secrets, lies and plenty of gaslighting, this book kept me in suspense until the end.
This was a uniquely written story that alternates between first person perspective to third person, which some may find hard to get used to. I honestly prefer when the story is written differently, and in this case, it was what initially grabbed my interest. This explored the meaning of friendship and showed the true reality of what many supposed friends are, unfortunately, like. The different timelines and perspectives kept this going at a fast pace. While none of the many characters were exactly likable, this was an addicting page-turner with, of course, a great twist to top it off. Any fan of female drama, thrillers, and twisty stories will devour this one. Four stars
