“And it happens again.
It happens. Every. Single. Day.
I fall in love with Ozzy Laster.”

From Nowhere changed my brain chemistry seemingly from nowhere. (Hehe, get it) I loved this story. I loved these characters. I did not want to put this book down to participate in real life. Any chance I had to dive back into this story, I was jumping right in. I could sit here and run down the tropes or gush about how much I loved each character and why, but I’m not going to do that because I think you can find that info on your own.

Just know this book is going to grab you and not let go. It’s going to have you crying silently in happiness and in sadness. It will frustrate you, but it will also make you think about those frustrations from different perspectives. I think many times we pick up romance books because we love the feeling of falling in love and seeing it captured in a fictional form gives us a safe taste of that feeling. That said, it makes it easier to forget that love is sometimes hard fought. Sometimes the feeling of love is easy, but actually living and sharing that love is not as simple. This book is that. Love that is easy, but that also seems unobtainable to have in the ways it’s desired.

That’s it. That’s the review. My favorite 2024 read that doesn’t publish until 2025 😂

What an amazing book! I loved it and had a hard time putting it down for work. First time reading a book from Jewel E. Ann and it definitely won’t be my last. Lola was a funny character keeping everyone on their toes all the time and her determination to be her father’s wingman might’ve just worked out for her. Maren’s patience and Ozzy’s determination is awe worthy. Watching them get through everything together was interesting and kept me on my toes. Tears were definitely spilled reading this book. Definitely a five star read.

When Maren Bernabe stops by the office to update some paperwork, she’s not looking for love. However, sparks fly during an awkward meet-cute with a stranger in the bathroom, and suddenly anything seems possible. Maren is a seasoned air tanker pilot who battles fires across the rugged Montana wilderness. Living with firefighters as roommates, she is no stranger to tough guys or tough situations.

The stranger she meets is Ozzy Laster, one of Cielo Aviation’s newest aircraft mechanics. Ozzy has faced his fair share of hardship; two years ago, he lost both his wife and father in a car crash. Now, he and his daughter Lola have chosen to shun cars in favor of bikes.

As Maren and Ozzy fall hard for each other, guilt forces them to hide their relationship from Ozzy’s disapproving in-laws and Lola, as they all want to protect her from further heartbreak. However, when tragedy strikes again, Lola’s unexpected reaction surprises everyone involved. Ultimately, this sets the stage for Ozzy to potentially find a second chance at love after all.

Wow, Jewel E. Ann does it again. I was intrigued by the first book but it didn't really grab me like her others. However, From Nowhere hit it out of the park. Immediately, you are captivated by Ozzy and his sassy daughter Lola. There is a bit of a mystery to their circumstances that you gradually learn about as the story progresses. The meet cute between Ozzy and Maren is utter perfection and their love story is one for the ages. I'm very interested to see how the series progresses with Will and the prodigy doctor.

From Nowhere is the second book in the Wildfire series. It is about a precocious ten-year-old girl named Lola and her father, Ozzy, who is trying his best to raise his daughter and help her overcome the tragedy in her life. Lola also tries to get her father to fall in love again. Lola believes Ozzy is lonely since the accident in which Lola suffered from the unbelievable loss of he mother, Brynn. She has facial scars and trauma that prevent her from getting into a vehicle. Therefore, they ride their bicycles everywhere. After a year of being a stay-at-home dad, Lola's grandparents (Brynn's Parents), Amos and Tia, agreed to help Ozzy return to work as an aviation mechanic for Cielo Aviation.

Maren Bernabe is a tanker pilot at Cielo Aviation. She works with the country's best wildfire firefighters, some of whom are her roommates, William Landry and Calvin Fitzgerald, whom we met in From Air, the first book in the Wildfire Series. Maren is also grieving the loss of her brother, Brandon, a firefighter and roommate. Calvin (Fitz) is marrying Jaymes Andrews, a mental health traveling nurse, and they are looking for their future house. With all these changes in the home they share, Will offers Maren to be her backup husband if neither of them marries within the next two years. However, once she's introduced to the new mechanic at work, all bets are off.

"Soar and feel Grounded"
"Dear God. Did I make sex a spectator sport in my daughter's eyes?"

Jewel E. Ann is my one-click, go-to author. I have read and will continue to read anything she writes. Her gift to the world is her ability to pen characters and develop stories that make the reader emotionally invested in the outcome.

This was a heartwarming, sweet/cute, slightly angsty book. You can't help but fall terribly in love with all the characters (except Tia) and their relationships/friendship with one another.

Maren is an air tanker pilot and one day experiences a very awkward meet cute with Ozzy (Oswald) one of the aircraft mechanics. He helps her out of an embarrassing situation and she is touched and taken by his kindness.

Ozzy is a single-dad, widower, whose in-laws moved in with him and his daughter Lola after the death of his wife and father. Ever since the accident Lola refuses to get into cars/buses etc. And Ozzy has promised to stick to getting around by bike/bicycle.

Lola is one of the sweetest and most adorable 10 year-old characters I've ever read. She doesn't want her dad to be lonely and is on the constant look out to find her dad a new Lady. The things she says around people!? Someone put some tape on that kids mouth! Hahaha

His in-laws, though helpful are disapproving (Tia) and indifferent (Amos) of him moving on and forward from their deceased daughter.

Because Ozzy made an impression on Maren, she know she likes him and would love more than anything to get to know him. Ozzy on the other hand is indecisive and has difficulty navigating his new found interest in a woman. I loved Maren's determination to "get the guy".
They agree to see each other "after hours"... sneaking around like teenagers, climbing through windows (so cute) to avoid his in-laws judgemental comments and also to avoid getting Lola's hopes up.

Ozzy was just the sweetest guy, best girl dad and an extremely patient son-in-law. Maren just can't help but fall. Their banter and sneaky escapades was fun and hot and Ozzy's gestures are swoon worthy.

When calamity rocks his world, Ozzy is terrified and is faced with some very difficult decisions to make.

This is book two of the Wildfire series and I can't wait to read book one. Do I mind that I am reading out of order? Not one bit!

Many thanks to Netgalley, author Jewel E. Ann and publisher for the amazing opportunity to read this book and share my thoughts.

Such a sweet story. Not everything is sunshine in roses in this incredible, heartwarming story.
Ozzy, a widower with a daughter has put his life on hold for the past two years. Helping his girl cope with the loss of her mother. While inviting his inlaws to move in and help.
Marren is a tanker pilot. She meets Ozzy under some hilarious circumstances at work.
Through all the ups and downs, super sweet, adorable moment. This story will pull at your heartstrings.  Keeping you on your toes. Making you remember not to take life for granted.
I really enjoyed this book. It touched on so many life altering situations.
5 stars.

This book is a heartfelt, emotional journey that packs so much depth and warmth. Maren and Ozzy’s connection is instant, but it’s the layers of grief, healing, and second chances that really make their love story stand out. Maren’s strength as an air tanker pilot contrasts beautifully with her vulnerability around Ozzy, who’s carrying his own heavy baggage. Their chemistry is undeniable, but the real challenge comes from the external pressures; hiding their love from Ozzy’s in-laws and protecting Lola adds a level of emotional complexity that hits hard. And when tragedy strikes again, it’s Lola’s surprising strength that brings it all home. This story beautifully captures how love can heal even the deepest wounds, and it’s one you’ll feel long after the final page.

This isn't my first book in this series by the author. I was given the opportunity to review the first book in the series and absolutely loved it. It was easily a five-star read for me! I was so excited after I read that book that I reached out to the author and she told me that this book was in the works and I couldn't wait to read it!

This book begins when Maren, a tanker pilot, as she meets Ozzy, a single dad, in a rather funny circumstance. Ozzy is recovering from the death of his wife two years ago and the debilitating fears that his daughter has still from the car accident that she was in with mom. Maren slowly warms his heart as he opens himself up to love while helping his daughter put her fears aside. Feelings start to evolve into love but another accident threatens to derail their plans for a future. Would absolutely recommend! A heartwarming love story with a little bit of spice!

Thanks to NetGalley, Jewel E. Ann, and Montlake for allowing me to review this Arc!

When a ten year old girl is your wingman what’s a widower to do? For two years no woman has crossed Ozzy’s mind until Maren. Ozzy lives with his ten year old daughter and ex-in-laws. Being a single dad and widower makes it’s challenging to date especially when his mother-in-law gives him the hairy eyeball.

Single dad Ozzy has a precocious ten year old daughter named Lola. Lola keeps trying to set her dad up on dates with women who like kids, but Ozzy’s not ready.

From Nowhere is book two in the Wildfire series. Seasoned air tanker pilot Maren wasn’t looking for love when she encountered single dad mechanic Ozzy. Ozzy’s number one priority is his ten year old daughter Lola. Where does that leave Maren?

JEA reminds me that there are still good guys in the world. She always creates the best book boyfriends. JEA has reinstated my beliefs in mankind for dating kind single dads. If often wonder where JEA comes up with all this witty dialogue. Does she have a journal where she writes all these great conversations saving the best ones for stories such as this? Or does she come up with it on the fly? Inquiring minds want to know how her mind works.

Sneaking around to avoid Tia’s hard glares gives Ozzy the opportunity to take back his teenage years. His dilemma is our delight in the humorous situations JEA concocts for our enjoyment. She once again creates these scenarios in which my mind is blown by the way she maneuvers words to paint the picture.

I absolutely adore every word JEA pens to paper. She’s a one-of-a-kind author who writes these amazing characters that consumes my heart. There are few writers who can immerse me into this type of storybook world. Doesn’t matter what she writes I’m reading it. The genre doesn’t matter because JEA isn’t a template writer. She designs creative plots working around genres in her own style.

This review goes out to anyone who’s not yet read any of JEA’s book. I highly recommend you get your recommended dose of reading in by picking up any one of her books. It’s the best advice I can give readers. I’m certain you will find interest in one of her books if not all of them.
