This was a strong suspenseful atmosphere in this wonderfully done novel. I was invested in what was going on and enjoyed the concept of what was happening in this crime thriller. The characters worked perfectly with what I was hoping for and enjoyed the concept. Daniel Sellers has a great writing style and can’t wait for more.

Detective Lola Harris is called to a local park where the body of a woman has been pulled out of the river. Lola knows who she is instantly. She’s the woman half the Glasgow force have been searching for: missing juror, Kathryn Main. With one juror already dead, Lola must again prove Carter's guilt and find Kathryn's killer before they strike again . . .
Don't do what I did. Murder on Skye doesn't work as a stand-alone. I felt lost as I read the first portion of the book. There were so many names, and so many times back history was referred to without actually explaining any part of it. However, the more I read, the book became easier to figure out. That doesn't mean I was able to figure out who the killer was, however. That was a mystery until the end. Lola was a fabulous character and I have every intention of reading the next book!
Many thanks to both #JoffeBooks and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of Running Cold. This book is #4 in the Detective Lola Harris Mysteries series, and it has an expected publication date of October 29, 2024.

I always love to read books set in Scotland, for some reason. This was an entertaining and fairly short read about a court case, judges, a man and her child, as well as a bad man. Easy to read and nicely paced, although felt a bit repetitive at times, but otherwise a good read.

This was a great read and a good edition to the series.
I enjoyed the characters and the story. Alot of twists and turns

I enjoyed this entertaining crime novel ! The plot was intriguing and I liked the police officers. They did not overwhelm the reader with their private lives, and many were female giving the story a different touch. Most were friendly with each other, which was a good thing for me. This led to a novel focusing on the investigation as opposed to private life problems or difficulties with their bosses. Very promising series and I want to read more books dealing with Lola, Anna and Elaine.
I received a digital copy of this novel from NetGalley and I have voluntarily written an honest review.

Sadly this is a DNF for me. I got to 30% but I just couldn't focus and there was so many characters. I loved the setting and writing style and I did like where the story was going. Just not for me.

This is an excellent series featuring Lola Harris and the Skye setting was an added bonus! Everything you could want in a thriller/crime book, plenty suspense, excellent characterisation and a brilliant female lead! This was an easy 5* from me. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

I enjoyed this novel. It had plenty of suspense to keep me guessing. Great characters. Lovely setting. Enjoyed the style of writing. All round great book. Look forward to the next one. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it

Detective Lola Harris is called to a scene in a park in Glasgow, where a body of a female has been found, upon close examination, there's a tattoo and it is determined she is the missing juror, Kathryn Main. Kathryn was being sought in connection to jury misconduct and the police were looking for her. Kathryn had been a juror on Carter Craig's murder trial, and he had been found not guilty. Lola, along with DS Anna Vaughan, DCI Graeme Izatt and DS Aiden Pierce must come together to work on the investigation. :Lola is told that there is a young witness who has information regarding Carter. Lola tracks her down to the Isle of Skye and sets off to find the truth. The story is full of twists and turns, a rollercoaster of a ride in searching for the truth, page turning, and all the sub plots come to an explosive conclusion that I never saw coming. I love how Lola is a feisty, strong and fearless person and will fight to the bitter end to get to heart of the mystery.

Great read!! This book had great suspense, intriguing, action, murder, mystery, a crazy who done it and a few twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! A high-profile case. A murdered juror. A determined detective . . . Detective Lola Harris is called to a local park where the body of a woman has been pulled out of the river. The victim has a tattoo on her wrist a dolphin and a heart. Lola knows who she is instantly. She’s the woman half the Glasgow force have been searching for: missing juror, Kathryn Main! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

This series featuring Detective Lola Harris is great, she's such a likeable character; feisty, kind and smart as well.
A despicable character, famous and very popular, is on trial for murder, but is considered not guilty after a stunt that backfires. Lola is determined to prove him guilty of more murders, but he's a Teflon man, evil, charming and backed by a rich family dedicated to keeping him a free man.
It takes literally everything out of Lola to nab him, but she does!
Great series, love the Glasgow and Skye setting, love this series!
Thank you NetGalley and Joffe Books for the eARC.
