Author Elizabeth Goddard introduces us to a new Pacific Northwest-set series with Storm Warning. This book is a fast read, because once you start, you are completely unable to put it down.
Remi Grant comes to Washington State to manage a secluded lodge, made popular for storm watching off the coast. Receiving a mysterious puzzle piece in the mail, it can only have to do with whatever happened a couple years earlier that she can't remember.
Former military pilot Hawk Beckett is looking for someone, and the tip leads him to Hidden Bay. Unfortunately, danger lurks all around Remi and Hawk, not only from within, but also from the onset of the biggest storm of the decade.
Despite Remi's wariness of Hawk, she can't deny he's saved her a couple times already so they team up to have each others' backs. What happens next is...you'll have to find out. You want to find out. You NEED to find out.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

“Call it whatever you want. But Jo Cattrel had always had a feeling it would come to this.”
Remi Grand is a photojournalist who previously served in the army and now runs a remote camp on the coast of Washington. Remi had forgotten a tragic incident from her past. Glimpses of the event haunt her. Will she ever remember the entire thing? Will they stop searching for her when she does remember?
She couldn't get back to headquarters the way she usually did. Because of the storm she was trapped, the team would not be able to reach her before the storm hit land. Someone reminds Remi of a rope ladder at the end of each tent in case of an emergency. Remi sees the rope and realizes it will be extremely difficult to grab.
Suddenly, a mysterious former military pilot named Hawk Beckett rushes in to help Remi. She appreciates his help and is impressed with his timing. But how did he know where she was? Was he stalking her? Was he trying to help or harm her? Only time will tell. Someone has been pursuing her everywhere she moved. Regardless of how careful she was.
Then someone brings her an unusual puzzle piece, and no one knows who delivered it. She was unnerved but hoped it would help her remember. This romantic suspense story has a few twists near the end I didn't see coming; not everything is what it seems. What a great way to begin a series.
The author's fast-paced stories and intriguing themes consistently keep me captivated. I like meeting her characters, too. If you haven't read this author before, check this one out. It will work great for your book club pick.

This book did not disappoint. I could not put this book down and was up till wee hours trying to finish it because it was just that good. The author hints here and there throughout the book on who the bad guy is to keep you guessing, One minute you think you have it all figured out and then the next you are wondering who it could be. I really liked Remi while she was dealt a rough situation she handled it with the best head on her shoulders and not wanted to get those close to her hurt. Hawk was a man of mystery he try to keep things close to the vest but also trusted those who he thought had his best interest at heart. They both sought answers to things going south in their lives and hoped to each help each other find those answers. This book will keep you going and was well worth the read.

Storm Warning

⭐️⭐️⭐️
We were captivated by the first few opening scenes in this book and were excited for this new suspense series by Goddard. The storyline was fast-moving and packed a lot of action into a short period of time. Our only disappointment was found in the somewhat disjointed relationship dialogue and fairly discernible ending.

Elizabeth Goddard holds her readers firmly in the palm of her hand from start to finish in her most recent novel, Storm Warning. The powerful storms rolling into the Pacific Northwest mirror the storms threatening Remi Grant. Yet, while she can see the storm clouds gathering, tumbling over one another, heading her way, helping her to predict their impact and to know how to prepare, her amnesia makes those things impossible for the storms of life headed her way. Helicopter pilot Hawk Beckett has flown through his share of storms while in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment Night Stalkers. Since leaving the Night Stalkers he has been flying through personal storms. Now that he and Remi's lives have intersected, the storms are intensifying for them both.
I highly recommend Storm Warning for fans of romantic suspense. The action, intrigue, and personal lives of the main characters are all quite intense. The physical storms almost seem as if they are a character in the story as Goddard reveals their impact and ferocity. Surprises abound.
I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Storm Warning from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

This was my first book by Elizabeth and it was so good. It was filled with action and suspense that kept me turning the pages. Trying to figure out what Remi’s memories could hold and that could be so dangerous. Who is the true bad guy in the book and why they want Remi. Also, Hawk the hero in every situation even though he doesn’t see it that way.
This was such a good book and a great start to a new series called Hidden Bay. I cannot wait for the rest of this series.

This brand new series starts off with lots of action and danger right from the very beginning. It’s a story with twists and turns, where it is hard to know who you can trust, especially with a heroine who is suffering with amnesia due to a traumatic event. The violent storm that rolls in accentuates the danger, as well as the feelings of confusion and anxiety that both of the main characters experience.
I liked Hawk’s character and felt for him as he battled guilt from a past accident that took a friend’s life, but also guilt from feeling as if he let his younger brother down. A younger brother who now seems to be going down a dangerous and deadly path.
Remi struggled with who to trust and what information to share. I believe that her confusion and dread and fear affected her decision making. I wanted her to be more willing to trust Hawk earlier on, however, she knew she was in danger and had a big piece of her life missing, making trust something that was not easy to come by.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Remi Grant is running from an incident in her past—one she can’t even remember. Working at an isolated lodge has helped to keep her mind clear and focused on her new responsibilities. Hawk Beckett saves her from a failing rope ladder when she risks her life to rescue a visitor’s dog from a ferocious storm. The near-death experience triggers a flashback, a flashback of something someone wants to remain forgotten. Hawk and Remi suddenly find themselves thrown into danger, together, danger both natural and manmade. Will they survive? Only one way to find out: Read Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard!
Goddard definitely knows how to pull in readers from page one. She had me hooked, and she kept me locked in until the novel’s end. Storm Warning carefully balances thrill with faith and romance. Hawk and Remi face threats galore on their lives, and they also come face to face with demons of their pasts. I liked that Remi didn’t immediately trust Hawk, even after he’d saved her life. More than once. I liked that Hawk stayed by her side regardless of her suspicion, and he did not waver. Remi slowly leans into him and his security, which was beyond sweet to witness.
But what I loved most about Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard: The emphasis on how the past does not define a person. God doesn’t care about what happened yesterday; He loves you regardless. He can use you regardless. And He will help you overcome your history and your trials. Remi does. Hawk does. He gives the opportunity for redemption—to everyone, if you are willing to accept it. Like Hawk saving Remi off that rope ladder, His hand always reaches out. And He will never let you go. He’ll walk with you through the strongest of storms: mental, emotional, and physical.
Storm Warning is a fantastic start to Elizabeth Goddard’s “Hidden Bay” series.

An action packed adrenaline rush from the first to the last! Elizabeth Goddard delivers a thrilling start to the brand new Hidden Bay series in Storm Warning. This heart pounding suspense kept me quickly turning the pages as an ex-army photographer tries to regain her lost memories against the backdrop of a once in a decade storm with a killer trying to prevent her from recalling the past.
Remi Grant’s spent the past two years as the manager of the Cedar Trails Lodge on the Washington coast trying to escape from a past she can’t remember. When she receives a mysterious package containing a puzzle piece & note, she thinks it might be a catalyst in helping her remember the fateful day that sent her into hiding. As her life’s threatened by someone who doesn’t want her to remember, she finds herself being rescued again & again by a handsome stranger. But, can she trust him?
Former Night Stalker military pilot Hawk Beckett came to Cedar Trails Lodge after a terrible event in his own past. He’s hoping he can secure employment offering tourist helicopter rides at the lodge as he searches for answers. Right off the bat, he finds himself saving a beautiful woman not once but over & over again from a killer who hopes to silence her before she regains her memories. As a fierce storm threatens the peninsula, Hawk fights to keep Remi safe all while trying to prevent himself from falling in love.
This story kept me glued to my kindle! The atmosphere is fantastic & I could easily picture the pelting rain & whipping wind as I was reading. The heart stopping suspense didn’t let up as Remi & Hawk are faced with one dangerous situation after another. The complicated plot revolves around international espionage, betrayal, & dangerous secrets.
Remi’s & Hawk’s reluctant to fall, instant attraction romance completely drew me in. Their complicated histories & the treacherous situations they face really create a bond between them as they come face to face with their pasts. Even though they’ve only know each other a short time, the chemistry was palpable & the author makes their instant attraction so believable. I also loved the faith element woven throughout & how these pulse pounding experiences cause both characters to turn to prayer.
Highly recommend to inspirational romantic suspense fans! Looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided.

This thrilling and suspenseful novel will keep you on the edge of your seat, making it a must-read for fans of romantic suspense. The story features a strong and independent heroine who finds herself in a dangerous situation, and a protective alpha male who will stop at nothing to keep her safe. The small-town setting adds an extra layer of intrigue and suspense, as the characters must navigate close relationships and hidden secrets while trying to stay alive.
With its captivating plot, well-developed characters, and heart-pounding suspense, this book is perfect for readers who crave a thrilling and romantic tale of survival and second chances. The combination of danger, passion, and small-town charm will keep you hooked from beginning to end, and the satisfying conclusion will leave you wanting more.

Christian romantic suspense is highlighted well in Goddard's newest release, Storm Warning. I was on the edge of my seat reading as the female main character, Remi, struggled to regain her memories while also trying to discover who is after her and why. Meanwhile, former military pilot, Hawk, is trying to work out his own issues while also determined to help Remi and keep her safe from those unknown, or unremembered, enemies. Lots of twists and turns kept me guessing what would happen next.
Highly recommend.
Many thanks to Revell and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

Storm Warning is another great romantic suspense from author Elizabeth Goddard. This book is the first in a new series and I can't wait for the next book.
The story is told from both Remi Grants and Hawk Becket's points of view.
Remi is the manager at a tucked away lodge where people come to get away and enjoy the views of the north Pacific ocean. As the story opens there are a series of storms rolling in which the guests are looking forward to watching in all their awesome power. These storms are important to the plot of the story.
Hawk tells Remi he is at the lodge because he wants to offer helicopter tours of the area so the guests have another way to experience the area. However, he finds himself coming to Remi's rescue right at the beginning of the story.
Remi finds herself wondering if Hawk's presence in her dire times of need aren't too convenient. Is there a nefarious reason why he always seems to show up? Of course, the reader also sees Hawk's point of view, so we know his true intentions.
Danger keeps cropping up and Remi and Hawk find themselves on the run. Not only do they need to stay ahead of the bad "guy" or is it multiple bad "guys"? But Remi is under pressure to remember something that happened in the past. An event that must have been so traumatic that she lost her memory of several days. It seems there are people who want her to remember and others who don't want her to remember. And there are so many twists on exactly who is on which side. Definitely twists I didn't see coming. And once the truth starts to emerge, the story took a twist I really didn't expect. The story kept me swiping through pages just so I could find out what exactly was going on.
I will add, I wasn't sure exactly how I felt about the relationship between Remi and Hawk. She kept flip-flopping on whether she should trust him or not, yet finding herself drawn to him. And there were times the little ponderings of each other didn't seem to fit with the circumstances they found themselves in. It also seemed at times, that if they did end up together they would be at odds quite a bit. Though as the story went on, I did find myself rooting for their relationship.
What made me drop a star in my rating was the inconsistencies in the story. It bothered me that they would be concerned about something and then suddenly turn around and do what they said they shouldn't do.
That said, I still loved this book and definitely recommend it. Especially if you are looking for fast moving suspense that keeps you on your toes. I can't wait for the next book which focuses on one of the other characters from the story.
I received an e-copy of this book through NetGalley and was not required to write a favorable review. These are my own honest thoughts.

Elizabeth Goddard is a master of fast-paced suspense. Storm Warning is definitely evidence of her ability to keep the action coming and keep the reader turning pages. I enjoy a suspense novel that makes me think I know how the story is going to p lay out, but in the end tosses me about just like a storm.
Hawk and Remi make the perfect pair – one trying to forget and one trying to remember. Goddard’s writing takes the reader right to the Washington Coast awaiting a storm of great magnitude. I felt the tension from the storm and the intrigue as Hawk and Remi try to remain safe from both the weather and a killer. The romance is an integral part of the story, not forced or cheesy.
I have read other books by this author, but not many. I will certainly be adding them to my reading list in the future.
This book is recommended for readers of Christian romantic suspense especially if you like a whodunit with surprise twists and turns.
I was given a copy of this book by the author. I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

What a fast paced suspense novel with Christian themes, sweet and natural romance, and twists and turns that keep you reading!
The characters were great and the story was interesting with the amnesia and memory recovery.
The setting was beautiful and I loved the sea and storm addition.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Hawk and Remi. However, this book seemed to take a little longer for me to get into. I did enjoy the twist at the end and was surprised when Remi finally got her memory back. I do enjoy Elizabeth Goddard’s writing and recommend her books.
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Such a great story. It was so well written you felt like you were with Remi and Hawk while running from the bad guys. Things take a twist and you don't know who to trust. While Remi is trying to remember what memories she lost, Hawk protects her. Lots of suspense, romance and mystery.

Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard has everything. Strong tortured hero, resilient heroine, amnesia, second chance, and isolated stormy rocky Washington coastline setting. There was so much action packed in this story of former army photographer Remi Grant fighting to remember some missing days while helicopter pilot Hawk Beckett is struggling with regrets.
There are so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. Even after the main villain had been caught, I was still surprised by the turn of events. Storm Warning is the perfect blend of incredibly strong, determined characters, nonstop action, believable romance and reliance on God. Highly recommend this Christian based suspense thriller.

** “Hawk found himself crying out to God more than he had in far too long, and maybe that’s what despair did. It brought a man to his knees before God.” **
Elizabeth Goddard begins her new Hidden Bay series with “Storm Warning,” a heart-stopping thriller about dealing with the past.
Remi Grant is literally hiding away in Hidden Bay while managing the Cedar Trails Lodge. Suffering from amnesia over a horrific event in her past, she begins to receive mysterious packages encouraging her to “remember.”
Hawk Beckett finds himself at Cedar Trails after being encouraged to visit by his former mentor John. But when he keeps finding himself thrown into dangerous situations — coming to Remi’s rescue — he knows there’s more than meets the eye with Remi and the lodge.
As the two work together to figure out what’s happening, all while major storms rage, can they overcome past traumas, learn to trust each other, determine whom else they can trust, and figure out what is happening and just what Remi needs to remember.
Goddard does an incredible job, as usual, of filling a plot with twists and turns, all while including just enough romance to please the reader. She creates intriguing characters, with both flaws and strengths. And she includes some great themes, like even when we feel abandoned, God is with us; finding patience and perspective, including sometimes we need to look at things from a different angle; Psalm 93:3-4; dealing with past horrors (“What is it about some minds that hide the horror, bury it away, and other minds turn the memories into a living nightmare?”); and we can always cry out to God.
Fans of authors like Lynette Eason, Lisa Harris, Patricia Bradley and Terri Blackstock will truly enjoy this novel, which is due out Feb. 18.
Five stars out of five.
Revell provided this complimentary copy through NetGalley for my honest, unbiased review.

If you are looking for a high octane suspense that is action packed, Storm Warning is the book for you. Things don’t add up as Hawk Beckett is assigned to take down an assassin and is drawn into a dangerous situation with Remi Grant’. Remi's memory begins after a horrific accident on a military mission, but will what she remember put her in danger? I loved the twists that took place throughout the story. I thought I had things figured out, only to realize that things weren’t what they seemed. I was happy to see the romance occur between Remi and Hawk, who was always there to protect her.
Things to love:
helicopters
danger
intrigue
rugged scenery
military secrets
I highly recommend reading this book for its suspense and clean romance. This is the first in the Hidden Bay series, and I am looking forward to reading more!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an early copy of the book. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed reading Storm Warning, the first book in Elizabeth Goddard’s new Hidden Bay romantic suspense series. I read the book quickly, within twenty-four hours, because I was hooked into the story from the start and couldn’t put it down.
Remi has amnesia and can’t remember what happened in Eastern Europe two years ago that caused her to suppress her memories. She’s a photographer who’s ex-army and there are dangerous people looking for her.
Remi leaves behind her life in Nebraska and ends up managing an isolated storm-watching vacation lodge perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Olympic Coast in Washington. Remi believes she’s safe in Hidden Bay until mysterious puzzle pieces that might be connected to her missing memories are sent to the lodge.
Hawk is staying at Remi’s lodge because he was given a tip that someone he’s looking for might be in the area. He’s a helicopter pilot with a military background and there’s a massive storm heading their way.
Hawk rescues Remi from a perilous situation during the ferocious storm and they team up to survive the danger surrounding them. Their forced proximity sparks an unexpected attraction that they can’t keep ignoring. I loved seeing Remi and Hawk getting to know each other in pressure cooker situations that test their character.
A wild ride ensues as the action-packed twists and turns in the story challenge Hawk and Remi to reassess everything they believe to be true, including their beliefs in God and His providence. I recommend Storm Warning to romantic suspense readers who like fast-paced thrillers with the amnesia trope and a relevant faith element in the story.
Many thanks to Revell and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.
