This is the third book in this series and unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to read, so I can only tell you even by itself this is a good read. Throughout the book we are brought back to the first and second books.
This third book keeps mentioning the past events but you should be able to still enjoy it. In fact I now have to get the first two books just so I have the full story of prosecutor Mack Wilson and her friends. Very interesting plot with a few twists and turns. Still a very enjoyable read.

I stopped reading because this is a story that is part of a series. I felt there was too much information lacking if you hadn't read the previous books.

This story is book three in the Mackenzie Wilson series. It starts out immediately after book two finishes. I would definitely recommend reading this series in order to understand the relationships and past histories between the main characters. And each trial the Mackenzie prosecuted are referenced in this book.

In this episode Mack’s dad, whom she hasn’t seen in over ten years, has apparently been living in Tucson for several years unknown to Mack. Her dad is accused of murder and she must decide if she wants to help him out and if she does she may very well loose her job as a prosecutor.

I liked the side characters of Jess and Dave, they were colleagues and good supporting friends. Her two ex girlfriends Beth and Anna were ok. Beth was honest in what she wanted in the relationship. Anna was a mystery to me. I think underneath all their talk and arguing they both cared deeply for each other. Maybe book four will resolve this ?

The mystery kept me engaged and Rebecca Jones obviously knows the law as demonstrated by all the technical language used throughout the series.

The third book in the series. Its well written, very educational and suspenseful. Its quite enjoyable and the story flows at at fast pace. I recommend.

The latest in the series of books featuring prosecutor Mack Wilson, this is another gripping read as we follow two serious cases side by side. Another troubling historical sexual abuse case where Mack is struggling to keep her focus to get justice for the victim. Without allowing herself to get distracted by a recent murder case of a pregnant woman, which coincides with the return of her estranged father that adds unwelcome complications to her life. Like the previous book I was gripped and interested in the legal intricacies that the author covers, however, there are a few loose relationship plot points that make you feel like you've missed something from earlier books. That said I loved the way the book ended with an unresolved cliffhanger, very clever.

Third installment in the series although I must say I did not know this and have not read the first two books. Still the story was good to follow so I'm curious how it'll be to read the previous books.

Mack is a prosecutor and is trying to juggle her job and her private life while dealing with her past. It's interesting to see what life throws at her and how she deals with all of it.

If you enjoy a good interesting story with compelling elements this one is for you.

This is the third in the Mackenzie Wilson series and they get better with each book. Mack has so much baggage she would never get close to an airport check in! But I love that. I love that she has flaws, and foibles, and doubts about herself and others. I especially love that Ms Jones has let Mack grow while still referring back to things that affected her in previous books. A pet hate of mine is where a character has something traumatic happen but ten pages later it’s all forgotten. Mack has scars.

She is prosecuting a man accused of abusing his daughter and the case is a nightmare. But just to complicate matters, her father returns to her life and she’s uncertain how she feels about that. The DA is up for reelection and Mack has to be careful about which side she appears to be on… and we still have best friend Jess with her funny dating stories and always available shoulder.

The author has created a tight little world which feels real and the ending is very angst filled but perfectly handled. I’ll definitely be on the look out for book four.

I had to go back to read before I could tackle this one, I very much enjoy the series and glad I took the time to read the others.

The third book about prosecutor Mack Wilson. Another satisfying story. This time her father is arrested for murder so she cannot be involved in the case. She also has an ongoing murder/abuse case she is prosecuting that has its own problems. All in all a good, interesting read.

Mack is back as she dealing two court case one she is prosecuting a man who is accused of sexually abusing his daughter while other has to do with a pregnant woman is found violently murdered in her home which happens to be close to where Mack lives. As Mack and with the help Jess dive into both cases she has to deal with her estranged father while dating someone new Beth I like her even though I still like to see something happening with her and Rocky the bar owner. I love how the author really goes deep into how law works.

This was an interesting read. The author obviously knows her way around a courtroom. I enjoyed the MC's and the suspense almost felt real. I was eagerly awaiting the outcome of both trials. Overall a decent read, although I didn't realize there was a previous book with the same MC's, which made some things hard to figure out. I wish I had known about the first book, so I knew what Mack went through before.

Machenzie Wilson is back for her third book. Mack works as a prosecutor in Tucson, AZ, in the homicide division. She loves her work which keeps her at her desk until all hours and gets her called out to witness homicide scenes. This story covers two main cases. In one she is prosecuting a man who is accused of sexually abusing his daughter for years and murdering her child. In the second case a pregnant woman is found violently murdered in her home. This one happens close to where Mack lives. And the presumed perpetrator has an unexpected connection to Mack.

The story flows at a fast pace. There are reasonable jumps in time so you don’t have to go through every witness statement or wait for trials to begin. I love legal stories and that is the focus of these novels. Mack is there to sift through evidence and win her case. She is well versed in the law but rulings can still depend on the mood of the judges. Mack does get a bit of a social life hanging out with best friend and fellow prosecutor Jess who has appeared in all the books. They have each other's backs and enjoy discussing cases while they drink and dine. (Jess is straight and not a love interest.)

I really enjoy Mack and her lawyer and cop friends. I keep waiting and wishing for a good romance for Mack. She is dating, which is new, and also contacts her ex Anna, for help in a case. There is also an ongoing District Attorney election and Mack has had run-ins with the current office holder. I will be waiting for the next book to see what exciting cases come Mack's way.
