I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure I’d like "Still The One" based on the description—second-chance romances can be hit or miss for me. But I was wrong! This book won me over. The story follows Eve and Foster, exes who haven’t seen each other in five years after a whirlwind marriage that ended in heartbreak. When Foster ends up in the hospital after a motocross accident, Eve—still listed as his next of kin—steps in to care for him. What starts as a reluctant reunion turns into a chance to revisit their past and figure out if they still have a future together. The forced proximity of Foster recovering in Eve’s tiny apartment adds tension, and the flashbacks to their whirlwind romance give the reader something to root for. Is it weird that Foster would get sent to someone's home instead of a rehab facility? Maybe. Would a real-world nurse get fired for peacing out on work for weeks? Probably. But let's not overthink the logistics. :)
Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a temporary digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I love a second-chance romance and this hit the spot perfectly. I particularly loved Guy, and he really kept me engaged throughout the book - I didn’t want to put it down!
Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc. 🫶🏻

5 years after Eve broke up with Guy and it all ended in tears. But due to an accident which brings Guy into hospital where Eve works they end back in each others lives. Is this a second chance of love? Read it and see. This was a lovely heartwarming read but also a rollercoaster.

This book promises a sizzling second-chance romance, echoing the popular "will they, won't they" trope that Emily Henry fans adore. Eve and Guy, once married, find themselves thrown back together after a five-year separation when Guy's accident lands him in the hospital. Eve, still listed as his next of kin, can't resist his "devilishly blue eyes" and agrees to care for him, leading to close quarters in her one-bedroom apartment.
The premise is intriguing, and the writing flows smoothly, highlighting the author's talent for unique storylines. However, despite the promise of heat and unresolved feelings, the characters felt somewhat distant, hindering a deeper connection. Additionally, the use of single quotes for dialogue proved distracting for this reader.
While the emotional connection fell slightly short, the book delivers a classic slow-burn, second-chance romance. If you're a fan of this trope and can overlook the minor stylistic quirks, this could be an enjoyable read. It offers a fresh plot and a compelling setup, making it a decent choice for those seeking a light, romantic escape.

Five years previously, Eve and Foster had married after only knowing each other for thirty days. Three months later, Eve departed leaving only a note behind, and assumes they are now divorced. She is a trauma nurse, used to dealing with all kinds of emergencies, but seeing a badly injured Foster brought in, following a motorbike stunt that went wrong, makes her realise that she may still have feelings for her ex. She keeps a bedside vigil until he is out of danger, telling herself that he is alone in a strange city and it’s the least she can do. At one point, I was reminded of a scene in the film While You Were Sleeping as she plays poker with him while he is still unconscious.
After the way things ended between them, they obviously have unfinished business. Unable to fly home due to the severity of his injuries, Eve is persuaded to nurse him in her flat, which gives them the opportunity to get to know each other again and remind them why they got together in the first place. It is obvious right from the start that they belong together, but I would have expected more discussion about the problem that broke them up the first time as it still needs to be addressed.
The characters are well developed and believable, though the attitude of some of the friends and family left a lot to be desired. The story is told from the points of view of both Eve and Foster which helps to paint a rounded picture, with additional flashbacks to fill in the gaps. I enjoyed the flirty banter between the main characters, and the scene at the line-dancing bar is memorable. I don’t know if other readers had the problem of the Shania Twain song being stuck in their head, but I certainly did. Still the One is the first book I have read by this author, but it will definitely not be the last. Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for a digital copy to review.

Still the Oke by Aimee Brown was my first book by this author, and I’m really glad that I was able to get an early coffee! This romance was cute, believable, and I couldn’t help but read it all in one sitting. To the point that my legs hurt from sitting in the wrong position for too long lol
This won’t be my last book by this author. Loved it!

From the very first chapter, the story drew me into a whirlwind of emotions with its delicious "will they, won’t they" tension, and the irresistible chemistry between Eve Cassidy and Guy Foster.
Eve thought her whirlwind romance with Guy was her forever, but after a painful breakup five years ago, she’s built walls around her heart. That is, until an unexpected accident lands Guy in the hospital, and Eve is forced to face the reality of how deeply she still cares for him. What follows is a heart-tugging second chance romance that had me swooning and rooting for these two every step of the way.
Their reunion, under the most unexpected of circumstances, brings both tension and undeniable heat. Their old love has a powerful pull, but with unresolved issues and years of separation, this new beginning may turn out to be the healing they both need. The author masterfully navigates their dynamic—making us feel the weight of their past while allowing their connection to slowly rekindle with each page.
This story is filled with all the sweetness of a second chance at love, but with a delicious slow burn that will kept me hooked from start to finish. It’s the perfect blend of passion, vulnerability, and just enough tension to make you keep coming back for more. Really enjoyed it!
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This one was a cute read! I really enjoy a good second chance trope and this one hit the mark! I liked the MMC and the storyline.

This was a fun, fast read and I absolutely loved it! It was just what I needed at the time. Definitely a book that I would recommend to friends.

Still The One by Aimee Brown is a heartfelt second-chance romance with plenty of emotional depth and swoony moments. Foster, a motocross star, and Eve, a trauma nurse, are thrown back together after his accident, forcing them to confront their past and unresolved feelings. I loved their chemistry and the well-placed flashbacks that revealed their history, but I was surprised by how clean the romance was, given its comparison to Emily Henry and Abby Jimenez. While the story delivers sweet tension and heartfelt growth, I wished for a bit more on-page passion. If you enjoy slow-burn second chances, forced proximity, and flawed but lovable characters, this one’s worth a read!
Thank you to NetGalley, Aimee Brown, and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Still The One was an OK read. Nice enough characters, interesting plot but nothing out of the ordinary and so I struggled to concentrate in places as my attention drifted.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.

I like a good enemies to lovers romance but I just didn’t find the hate Eve had towards forest believable. It just fell a bit flat for me

This book is the perfect blend of heart, humor, and second-chance romance that hits all the right notes. The setting has that cozy, small-town feel where everyone knows each other, which makes the characters’ relationships feel even more intimate and personal.
• Eve: She’s a smart, relatable heroine who’s trying to pick up the pieces after some tough life changes. You can’t help but root for her as she navigates her way through emotional baggage and a few awkward (but charming) situations.
• Foster: The quintessential small-town hero with a heart of gold, but he’s got his own complicated past. His chemistry with Eve is undeniable, filled with tension, warmth, and so much unresolved history. Watching them reconnect is a real treat.
Aimee Brown captures the ups and downs of relationships with a lot of heart. The way she builds the world around Eve and Foster feels authentic, and the side characters add extra depth and humor to the story. If you’re a fan of second-chance romances with witty banter, heartfelt moments, and a cast of characters you’d love to be friends with, Still the One should be on your list!
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing me with an ARC and allowing me to provide my honest review

I enjoyed the characters- the two main romantic characters were likeable and the dual POV was fun. At times I felt a little like their history and the tone of the relationship was a little confusing. There were a few mentions of Eve hating Forest, but at no point did her actions or actual conversations with him point to hate or even an "enemies to lovers" situation. I like the second chance plot and the connection between the characters felt genuine and sweet.

I was really happy to be able to read the new book by Aimee Brown! "Still the One" is a really fun and lovely read which gave me a lot of different emotions such as sadness, scare, surprise, love, happiness, I even laughed out loud a few times (which I love doing while reading a book!). I really liked the main characters and I enjoyed the fact that every other chapter we read what Eve is thinking or living and then what Foster is thinking or living. It's great to read both sides of the story with two different point of view. I really enjoyed my read even though it is maybe not the best book by Aimee Brown I have read so far, but this book deserves a good 4 stars out of 5 nonetheless!!! Can't wait to read a new book by Aimee Brown!!!

This was a cute and quick read.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4.5 stars)
I really enjoyed Still The One! It had everything I love in a second-chance romance, great chemistry, emotional depth, and just the right amount of drama. Eve, a nurse, and her ex-husband Foster, a Motocross legend, had one of those whirlwind love stories. They got married within 30 days of meeting, only for it to completely fall apart. Fast forward five years, and Foster ends up in a serious accident with Eve still listed as his emergency contact. Cue the tension, unresolved feelings, and all the emotional chaos.
I loved their dynamic. The history between them made every interaction feel intense, and you could really feel the push and pull of their relationship. The medical representation was also really well done. It felt authentic and added a lot of depth to the story instead of just being a random plot point. That said, the middle did drag a little, and I found myself getting impatient, but the ending wrapped up really well and made up for it.
My biggest issue was how long it took Foster to realize why Eve left. Five years is a long time, and while I love second-chance romances, I’m not a fan of the miscommunication trope. If Eve had just been more upfront with her feelings, so much of the heartache could have been avoided. I wanted to shake them both at times.
Even with that frustration, I really enjoyed this book. It had the perfect mix of angst, sweetness, and redemption, and I was fully invested in their journey. If you love second-chance romances with all the feels and don’t mind some miscommunication drama, Still The One is definitely worth picking up!

*Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the eARC of this book; the review is my own.*
Well, that was a very quick book, not because it was super short but because it moved quickly and was enjoyable to read. I say "quick," but I guess what I really mean is that the pacing was spot on for the story and the characters. I didn't feel like there was any unnecessary filler just to take up space or make me wait for the sake of waiting. Each flashback was inserted at just the right place and contributed backstory that helped to flesh out the characters and their history. After DNFing two books in a row immediately before picking the sone up, it was exactly what I was looking for. I agree that it has a similar feel to Abby Jimenez, more so than Emily Henry. It would be a good fit for readers who like those authors but want to avoid sex scenes; however, the level of swearing prevents me from giving a higher rating than 4 stars.
The story of how Eve (27) and Foster (35) met five years previously was adorable (you'll see it in a flashback). Even though she left him a mere three months into their marriage, it's very clear from the start of the book that they should still be together and that they both want to be. It's just buried deep down, for Eve especially. With the five years that have passed since they last saw each other, the two of them have grown up and matured some. That's not to say I wasn't frustrated with the ways they still lacked communication. But their care for one another was obvious, and their flirty banter (even when Eve forbade flirting within her apartment) was very cute. I couldn't help liking the two of them.
This author is new to me, but I see she has quite a few books that I will be looking into.
Note: Some language, but quite a few f words. Phil is gay. Not a big fan of the cover.

Eve works in the trauma department and she can't believe that her ex-husbands been brought in after a horrific crash. She ends up having to care for him at home as there's no one else

Book Review: The One Who Got Away by Aimee Brown
Aimee Brown’s The One Who Got Away is a delightful second-chance romance that captures all the emotional highs and lows of rekindled love. With its captivating characters, steamy chemistry, and plenty of emotional depth, this book is an absolute treat for fans of contemporary romance, particularly those who enjoy a “will they, won’t they” love story.
Eve Cassidy thought she’d lost her chance at true love when she and Guy Foster, the man she married in a whirlwind romance, broke up. Five years later, Eve has resigned herself to the idea that love isn’t in the cards for her. But when Guy is in a near-fatal accident and she discovers that she’s still listed as his next of kin, Eve can’t bring herself to abandon him in his time of need. She agrees to help care for him, allowing him to recover in her tiny one-bedroom apartment. And just like that, these two exes are forced to confront the undeniable chemistry and unfinished business they still share.
Brown expertly crafts a slow-burn romance that will have readers invested in Eve and Guy’s journey from the very first page. As they navigate their new living situation, old feelings start to resurface, and it’s clear that there’s still a spark between them, even after all this time. Guy’s brain injury makes him vulnerable in ways he wasn’t expecting, and it’s in these tender moments that the true depth of their past relationship—and the love that never quite went away—is revealed. Their connection is electric, making it impossible not to root for them to figure things out, even as they stumble through their doubts, regrets, and baggage.
What I loved most about The One Who Got Away was how it balanced humor and heart. Aimee Brown’s writing is infused with wit and charm, but there’s also a palpable emotional undercurrent. Eve and Guy are both flawed, but their imperfections make them relatable and real. The “he falls first” trope is perfectly executed, and it’s clear that while Eve may have once walked away, it’s Guy who will have to do the hard work of proving that they can make a second chance at love work.
The book is a great mix of romance, humor, and introspection, with both characters taking the time to reflect on what went wrong in their relationship and what might have changed. Their chemistry sizzles, and the stakes feel high as they tiptoe around the possibility of a future together while still holding on to past hurt.
For fans of authors like Abby Jimenez, Lindsey Kelk, and Emily Henry, The One Who Got Away is a must-read. Aimee Brown has delivered a deeply romantic, beautifully written story that will have you smiling, swooning, and maybe even shedding a tear or two. It’s the perfect blend of heart, humor, and steam—one of those books that will stay with you long after you’ve finished.
Rating: 5/5
An emotionally charged, beautifully crafted second-chance romance with characters you’ll fall in love with all over again. If you love complex, layered romances with witty banter and heart-tugging moments, this one’s for you!

This is such a girls girl type of romance book for any who love a modern romantic comedy type novel. Thanks to a turn of events, exes Eve and Foster find themselves back in each other's lives. Will they rekindle? Or will they decide the past is better left in the past? Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a copy of this book for an honest review.
